Even though Kylian Mbappe is finally going to Real Madrid and I have no issue when world class players go to a club like that, I still think that staying at PSG in the first place was a massive mistake for him. 3-4 years ago was when Real Madrid really needed Mbappe. From 2018-2021, they went through a transitional period where they lacked a genuine superstar after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure they too so many years getting used to not having to rely solely on him, apart from Karim Benzema who was their only elite attacker, their attack was very inconsistent as Eden Hazard was never able to replicate his Chelsea form and was a shadow of his former self, Gareth Bale was nowhere near the squad and Vinicius Junior wasn’t the player that he is right now. At the time they really needed a superstar like Mbappe. Unfortunately he decided to stay at PSG for a little longer and while he’s still yet to win a champions league title even though he played with Messi and Neymar, Real Madrid have been doing well of late. You look at Real Madrid in the last 3 seasons, they’ve won 2 champions league titles their team is stacked so star studded Vinicius Junior is now a world class player and Jude Bellingham has been a great signing for them and the profile of what this team really needs in the transfer market is an out and out striker as that’s the player that they’re still lacking in the team. He had not stayed at PSG, he would have 2 UCL titles by now and we wouldn’t be having this conversation about whether or not they need him. Real Madrid sign the best players in the world and they have no choice but to sign Mbappe because he wants to go there and with him a free agent they know that other clubs would’ve been in the race to sign him. With or without Mbappe it doesn’t matter because they win the UCL regardless of who they have in their team. Getting a player of that caliber on your team will make you even better, but after winning the champions league once again and they’re about to have another Ballon Dor winner on the team, it’s very obvious to football fans that Kylian Mbappe needs Real Madrid more than Real Madrid needs him.
I think the difference is that Eden was already older and had some injuries when he finally showed up. Kylian is still young and has a lot of prime years left to have success with Real Madrid. There's no way to know he would've had two UCLs if he joined three years ago. Back then, it would've meant Vini or Rodrigo are gone (Vini today and Vini 3-4 years ago aren't the same thing). Some of the players Perez brought after Mbappe stayed at PSG wouldn't be there either, he couldn't afford Kylian and Camavinga and Tchoumani. On the other hand, with Mbappe they might've won more, there's really no way to know. It's all a what-if. Cristiano showed up after winning UCL with United, he was 24. Kylian is 25. Just like it didn't hurt Cristiano to join at that age, it's not going to hurt Kylian. I think the fact that Vini has 3 more years of experience and confidence will make it easier. He already started playing in the middle a few times this season and said he likes it better. In the end, Mbappe will win several UCLs because that's what happens with Real Madrid and if he scores those crucial goals just like Cristiano did, he'll get all the accolades as well.

Real Madrid are in the business of winning and second place is an utter failure with no excuses. Compare to the English PL where coming second is somehow acceptable, even applauded e.g. Arsenal. This is wjhat sets the superior Spanish teams, owners and fans apart from the inferior English.
Before that he already was on a kinda bad run, bayern time was strange, napoli wasnt good, then everton.. Leverkusen won their first bundesliga with 0 loss, all top 5 League have a surprise UCL club (Bologna, Villa, Girona, VfB, Brest), Chelsea somehow securing 6th place.. Bayern hired an 8th choice on their list, Crazy season
He managed Everton, they were 10th place, he called Perez to try and get players on loan for the next season and just asked hey, what are you doing about coaching next year, and Perez had a light bulb go off. It's just crazy. His coaching career was over, he was either going to keep coaching small clubs or retire, and all of a sudden he's back on top winning UCLs. It's definitely the reason I'm not discounting what Kompany could do for Bayern. If he fits their culture it could work out. The difference of course is that Carlo already had success with Real and won championships in every other big league, and he was coming back. He had experience and knew what the pressure would be like. Kompany doesn't have a lot of experience, never coached at that level. It could be a spectacular blow up
Mikel Obi must feel so sour now, before the game, he said Carvajal, Kroos, Modric and Nacho don't deserve their titles. Now Carvajal scored to shut him up.
Not only was the music too loud, it was unnecessary as well. It's never necessary for talk segments on any show but ESPN insists on drowning everything with boring elevator music
Futbol fans always praise the Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba duo which is one of the greatest duo's in this industry but need to also, apart from Madridistas, recognise the highley under appreciated duo of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. Modern day royal guards of Real Madrid who both have an extremely high IQ of communication.
It's just 3 things 1. Insane Mentality 2. Unprecedented self-believe 3. World class players Usually it's 4 with the fourth one being the refs but not this time..They won against Dortmund fair and square
After mentioning these 3 you will also understand that even when referee decisions go against RM they win regardless because of these 3 things you mentioned. When decisions go for Real Madrid and they win ppl talk but when decisions go against Madrid no one says anything bcos most of the times Madrid win regardless
Real Madrid are in the business of winning and second place is an utter failure with no excuses. Compare to the English PL where coming second is somehow acceptable, even applauded e.g. Arsenal. This is wjhat sets the superior Spanish teams, owners and fans apart from the inferior English.
They have the squad depth they have the experience so i was pretty sure if dortmund doesn’t kill madrid early then slowly madrid gonna find rhythm and once that happens the engines are heated then its tough to stop 🛑
I hate to say it but Real managed the game perfectly once again, they know when to pick their moments. Dortmund were going all out during the game but didn't score and it cost them in the second half. The first goal is lazy marking and the second goal was a mistake from a tired and dejected player. There is a reason why you almost never see Real extremely tired, they stay disciplined defensively without exerting themselves. Real knows that Dortmund's scoring window passed after those misses.
Real will fall soon so enjoy it now. Why? Because they are being protected via financial fair play, winning ucls wont keep you competitive with the almighty dominant premier league tank.
Carvajal in terms of titles is the best RB of all time. In pure footballing terms, he might not be the flashiest full back or the fastest, but he is the epitome of hardwork, discipline and mental strength. For a 'less talented' player, the number of crucial assists he has given is insane. He might not be the same as he was between 2015-2020, but he is still a workhorse. Also, he was the only one who kept Lahm out of Bundesliga team of the season in his prime. It wasn't a fluke.
I think the reason why it's not talked about much is because those are very fine details that only those on the squad can fully understand. Even a great-player-turned-pundit like Thierry Henry doesn't go deep into those because they can be horribly wrong, since only the players and managers know why they do what they do.

If Real Madrid players and coaching staff hear you pundits and the English media, they will write their selves off in every big match because you always write Madrid off and they keep proving you wrong haha
I made up my mind I will never watch a Real Madrid Champions League game ever again. Every time after a RM game I feel sick to my stomach, the other team is always better for about 60 to 70 minutes and then Real Madrid just shifts up a couple of gears and effortlessly win it. It almost feels like that these RM players are Androids and not Human. I wouldn't wonder if there would be a foul on a RM player one day, his legs come off and you see the cables and electronic parts exposed.
I agree with you here. But honestly they don't even shift up gears. They just get lucky. They didn't play well the entire game today. Got a lucky break on the corner after being dominated the whole game, and then got lucky off of dortmunds mistake with the goal they handed them. Then they just played boot ball the last 15 mins. They were trash, but still won. Didn't even deserve to be there. It's infuriating
the problem with Kevin Durant joining the Warriors (who were a superteam at this time) was because he joined them RIGHT after they had just won the championship. Which to some seemed like a cheap thing to do
That's their gamë plan in mostly big games not to review their hand first half. The opposite team use all their energy to excute their gamë plan during second half the other team is fed new info, now second half when Real start to show their hand the opposition don't know how to respond. Everything the other team were told during second half become totally wrong cause Madrid never revealed their gamë plan in first half.
Simple, Madrid give the illusion of looking weak and vulnerable and with a little luck, surviving the barrage of attacks from the opposing team. In the second half once that team is out of steam they just continue to absorb pressure and then release their own attack when the moment is right.
Why is everyone so fixated on the two yellow cards Dortmund got like that’s the reason why they lost?? If people are complaining abt vini diving then why is no one talking abt kobels dive
The dive talk is so annoying literally every player does it almost. Ronaldo did neymar did mbappe does di Maria did in the wc final and vini don’t do it as bad as those guys. The referee interpretation of a foul should change. Stop calling every minor contact and the dives will stop.
Min 4:17 what's the point of saying that , we expect more level of knowledge and professionalism. All footballer are at risk of being a Heroe or a Villian. Is not nice to hear stupid opinions in such a good moment.
*Any team that manages to put Madrid against the ropes for half time* Real Madrid: I guess that's it for base form. I'll have to go Super saiyan one for this one. 🚬🗿
The reason Real Madrid win is because of the way they train. They wear these masks that reduce oxygen when they train. They hate their trainer and call him the devil for what he makes them do and how he makes them perform with low levels of oxygen. So come game time they have air in their lungs that other teams just aren't trained to have. They will out run anyone on the field with ease. The tough training also gives them a bond to each other that is tough to replicate. Enduring hardship to help each other be the best is something that very few things can give you.

Remember English is his second language. He probably meant that Carvajal is not superstar in tge team.
@@imperator8657 that make sense. But still, he's a solid defender. He's been in the starting line up for the last 6 UCL wins, in my opinion he is a super star. 😀
@@Zoltan92 I agree wholeheartedly. Carvajal should be regarded as a superstar but they are entitled to be of the opinion that Carvajal is not.
@@imperator8657 of course. I agree 😊 Each to its own 😀
Real Madrid are in the business of winning and second place is an utter failure with no excuses. Compare to the English PL where coming second is somehow acceptable, even applauded e.g. Arsenal. This is wjhat sets the superior Spanish teams, owners and fans apart from the inferior English.
I can't believe Don Carlo actually managed Everton. It's like Vincent Kompany managing Bayern Munich, no, wait. Bizarro's World Cup.
It could be a spectacular blow up
Don Carlo 2nd half he changed their positions played well took their chances and won Real Madrid don’t play finals they win
Real Madrid winning gold in English soil is simply a chef's kiss. You literally cant make this up. 😂
Turn down that music on the background. ESPN editors trash af
As a Barca fan it’s time to admit Real Madrid are the greatest club of all time it’s a honor to be considered their rival congratulations on #15
Know your place
Just kidding bro, can't wait for barca to be back so the old, intense classico days are back. Hasn't been the same for a good 10 years
Class reply.
I wish all football/sports fans were like you
@@7yep4336dfgvvh a bit hard to pay refs while under investigation. If u looked back on those classico madrid always on a red card.
They adapt to their opponent
Carvajal is the best fullback in the world for years, what is these fools yapping about
Frank definitely doesn't watch Real Madrid's games.
Or do any of them?
Anyways!
Mikel Obi must feel so sour now, before the game, he said Carvajal, Kroos, Modric and Nacho don't deserve their titles. Now Carvajal scored to shut him up.
People hating on the music but it’s my favorite part ngl lol and these guys are hilariously entertaining as well
Am with you 1000%. I love the music die.
most people are complaining about the music being too loud, not about the choice of music itself
@@Real_ghostboiit’s fine 🥱 the music is 🔥 turn it up louder!!!
@@hattrick257 yeah I don’t have a problem with it myself, I was enjoying it too🤣. I was just taking about the other people in the comment section.
Tony Kroos is bigger than Barca
TURN OFF THE MUSIC PLACE
I love it lol
Not only was the music too loud, it was unnecessary as well. It's never necessary for talk segments on any show but ESPN insists on drowning everything with boring elevator music
ESPN crying that their Daddy Sancho wasn't world class 😂😂😂
Just get Steve off this show or you’ll lose viewers, his attitude is bad enough, more has to be expected of someone doing public broadcasting
I take it that's the sound guy's way of handing in his resignation?
The halftime dressing talk:
“Coach is right! If we work as a team we can win!” 😂
I swear that background music was heavily inspired by Funkytown by Lipps Inc.
Madrid always gives you a reason to seem salty. smh
Still hatin come on espn 😅😅
I don't wanna hear united fans calling themselves 'The biggest club in the world' no more it's embarrassing when y'all have 3 to Reals Madrids 15.
In this sport there's no question, both by success metrics and financially, that Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world.
says the one with a City avatar who has 1
Juventus have 2 UCL, Milan 7, Juventus are still bigger than Milan
It's just 3 things
1. Insane Mentality
2. Unprecedented self-believe
3. World class players
Usually it's 4 with the fourth one being the refs but not this time..They won against Dortmund fair and square
Remember when you were crying calling them "VARdrid" a couple months ago now you're acting like a fan 😂
@@stansmith5610Hey at the end of the day, I'm a LaLiga fan and as long as it's us and not prem, I'm totally good with it
You also forgot…the power of friendship with don Carlo 🤨
After mentioning these 3 you will also understand that even when referee decisions go against RM they win regardless because of these 3 things you mentioned. When decisions go for Real Madrid and they win ppl talk but when decisions go against Madrid no one says anything bcos most of the times Madrid win regardless
Real Madrid are in the business of winning and second place is an utter failure with no excuses. Compare to the English PL where coming second is somehow acceptable, even applauded e.g. Arsenal. This is wjhat sets the superior Spanish teams, owners and fans apart from the inferior English.
ESPN editors looking like Real Madrid in the first half with the no show. Turn down the music bruh.
They have a binding how restricting their stat by 20% in first half, which gives them additional 20% (120% cumulative) stat boost in second half
Yes for sure Vini jr deserves the balloon D'or he is so incredible and wonderful 👍.
Music decide to stay loud 😂😂
Stevie can be so foolish with his perspectives sometimes. that Carvajal point is irrelevant
Dortmund have surprisingly played very well, but as long as they didnt score the first goal in the match, I never had the feeling they would win
surprisingly🤦♀my god they won aganist milan, atletico, psg and newcastle before all of that!!!!
They have the squad depth they have the experience so i was pretty sure if dortmund doesn’t kill madrid early then slowly madrid gonna find rhythm and once that happens the engines are heated then its tough to stop 🛑
as usual corrupt Refdrid get a fluke result, disgrace to football
Antonio Pintus is the answer. Even during the 3 peat. The players physical levels are outstanding.
The Madrid shirt activates ultra instinct on players to clutch the win.
The guy in the soundbooth is a Madrid fan. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Frank Lebeouf still Real Madrid hating.
Frank doesn’t like Brazilian player 🤣🤣🤣
What’s with the music volume? Someone forgot to turn it down after being told 😂😂
¡Hala Madrid!
Vini Jr ballon d'or
Kevin Durant and Stevie need to link up! 🤝
Real will fall soon so enjoy it now. Why? Because they are being protected via financial fair play, winning ucls wont keep you competitive with the almighty dominant premier league tank.
I´ve been hearing this for years now...
The music is a lil loud
Carvajal doesn't deserve to play for Real Madrid ke?? This guy spews nonsense everytime
In game adjustments are so under discussed and undervalued
I think the reason why it's not talked about much is because those are very fine details that only those on the squad can fully understand. Even a great-player-turned-pundit like Thierry Henry doesn't go deep into those because they can be horribly wrong, since only the players and managers know why they do what they do.
The old man in the middle seems not being very happy, hard of stomach I suppose. Is boring seeing R.M. winning 🏆 again and again, let’s play some cricket. 😂
Adjustments lol
There is a saying if you dont punish real madrid they will punish you. Its not that real madrid are so much better or even better its the fact if you keep screwing up the game and dont bury goals on real madrid they will eventually figure you out and punish you. They might need only one goal to even do that 😂
Ale is 100 % guy who would roll for 5 min hahaha
If a ref gave a second yellow for a dive when there was actual contact, in a big game like this, that ref will never work for UEFA again
Antimadridistas just gotta find something to complain about always.
They wanted Vini to get sent off for that, but are silent as the grave about Hummels intentionally handling the ball in his own box
@@robertmarginean164 yeah, not when it's a goal though with hummels but the one who did get booked at that Vini incident actually himself tried to win a penalty diving but no one said a thing about it. And everyone saw the keeper's dive to actually get Vini booked. Antis will be antis.
@@abody499 yeah dude, Vini barely touched the keeper with his back foot and the goalie's rolling sround holding his knee, like what the heck
if u look good you'd see the contact. And hummels hands thhe ball trying to stop carva header. Cry!!!!!!!!!!!
The referees!!!
Delusional..😂

Mbappe the new Kevin Durant in club football ... But in international football he was already the man twice 2018, 2022 (world cup has a higher status than the Olympics I feel)
At least kevin durant didn't go to a team that won the year prior
You can not say that since Durant went to a team that did not just win a championship. Mbappe is going to a championship team
Durant was that guy long before he went to GS so that point is mute.
@@bngouhwarriors would of won that year beating Michael Jordan's record but the refs and commissioner benched Draymond so Cleveland could win a title... It was manipulated... And I'm from Cleveland.
But what's SICKENING is that fans are OBSESSED with the idea of Mbappe joining the 15x UCL champions to win UCL!!
But when Lebron made the decision to go to Miami to win a trophy, fans criticized him!!
When KD joined the GS warriors, fans called him a snake!!!
Sports fans are SUCH F**KING HYPOCRITES!!!
REAL WORLD'S number 1, ... not the 115 charges TEAM
Madrid conserve energy in the first half so they can overrun teams in the send halves
Didn't he say the music is( sorry for my language)
fu... ing loud! If I wanted to listen to music I wouldn't be here. I want to listen to them TALKING.
Ps:I'm sorry the ESPN FC team if I sound rude but someone had to say it.😬🙏
Congratulations King of Europe 👑 ❤️ 👍 💯
This Real Madrid hater (Steve) says that Dortmund dominated the game for 70-80 minutes but couldn’t score. Is he blind?? You should check the game statistics. Real had more possession in both halves
For God (Yahweh) so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ) should not perish but have everlasting life.❤🙏
RM is a well managed club both inside and outside football ground
Carvajal does not deserve to play for Real? Another stupid take by ESPN!
When he still had his pace he was the best RB in the world by a country mile, and even now that he’s lost his pace he’s still in the top 5 RBs in the world!
What a nonsense take by ESPN
U need some tissues?
@@mr.sushi2221 yeah that'd be great actually.. I need to clean up a little bit from me and your mom. You got any?

Quite some luck to have won it 15 times
Real Madrid badge is the closer thing to "Faith in God" that you may want to compare. Actually, I believe Real Madrid is God's Team.
If you can call sitting back with eleven men behind the ball in the second half against Man City playing better ??
There are types of football. Attack or defend.
You can't tell a team how to play when the coach sees and knows the other team.
the problem with Kevin Durant joining the Warriors (who were a superteam at this time) was because he joined them RIGHT after they had just won the championship.
The hocus pocus Ucl winner club , most football fans knew that lol 😆😆
Madrid needs Mbappe for his talent and for revenue.
Simple, Madrid give the illusion of looking weak and vulnerable and with a little luck, surviving the barrage of attacks from the opposing team. In the second half once that team is out of steam they just continue to absorb pressure and then release their own attack when the moment is right.
What a game and a victory and we know who will be coming this Summer HALA MADRID
Why is everyone so fixated on the two yellow cards Dortmund got like that’s the reason why they lost?? If people are complaining abt vini diving then why is no one talking abt kobels dive
Barca fans hate mbappe because mbappe choose madrid , so barca are now so jealous , mbappe foollow Ronaldo's foot steps
*Any team that manages to put Madrid against the ropes for half time*
Real Madrid: I guess that's it for base form.
Fire the dude in charge of the music ESPN FC. It's a silly, irritating and unnecessary distraction.
Real Madrid are like the great boxers, measures and learns distances, sets you up with jabs and faints then they land the big punch that knocks you out in the late rounds. Hala Madrid !
🤨 This is the reason.
Steve is such a hater, I find amusing how he is always trying to justify that RM were unfairly winners, and yet RM keeps winning.
