It has been clarified by Yuqi and others on talk shows that the meaning of the English and Korean spelling of the group name is the same. The (G) meaning Girl, likewise (여자) meaning Woman. I-DLE from "I" for "Individuality" and -DLE being Korean plural suffix. Therefore, the group name means the multiple individualities of each of the six members. Don't mistake 아이들 for Children. While it does share the same spelling, it does not share the same meaning. It is merely phonics for Korean viewers to sound the "I" (아이). I/i = 아이, -DLE = 들 Which is the reason why the logo is: [i들] and not 아이들. Classic mistake. Once again, the group name has nothing to do with "children" even though it can spelt in such a way. The English rendition is more the official version than the Korean; the Korean is in place for native readers who may mispronounce it. After all, writing it (G)아이들 or (G)I들 would be weird so they just equivocated it to (여자)아이들. Hope that clears up the misunderstanding! 🙂

Soyeon became my favorite girl rapper in Korea when she joined Unpretty Rapstar. Have you guys checked her out in that show? She did a very emotional song telling her parents she will be alright.. So it's no surprise to me how she will be the composer, lyricist of this group :) she is talented indeed!
Soyeon also wrote and co-composed LATATA as well. I’m surprised people are just now finding this out. But yes, she is amazing, and I’m so grateful cube is giving her this freedom at only AGE FREAKIN’ 19 to have so much power and control in the music and lyrics and ability to express her own talent. Yeah, I had never listened to any of the artists in the LoL KDA collab song, but looking them all up, the (G)I-dle singers are the biggest reason that song is such fire.

I think they will! Soyeon basically made the song (CUBE originally asked her to make a LATATA 2.0 but Soyeon decided to go with her gut at made a different sounding song instead), directed the concept (like she deadass said she wanted to film in a desert with black outfits and they created a whole set with fake sand and black outfits, they trust her vision so much!!), and she even choreographed Shuhua's dance break! I hope they allow more input from other members as well since it seems like they have a lot of ideas too, but for now, they really trust Soyeon with Idle so I'm sure this will continue since Soyeon's concepts/songs clearly are working for them :)

I found out about (g)i-dle through K/DA. So I just want to thank my boyfriend for introducing me LOL which then became a medium for me to recognize this group.
Using Minnie's whisteling is such a clever thing and I love the idea of the whistle going out in the distance of an open desert along with the undertone of the piano, the haunting hums and the instrumental. The way they also pitch it also adds to the isolation that this song has and makes it sound haunting. This is really thought out well. The Scorpion could also be implying the toxic relationship, while it also could reference about still holding onto something, hence Yuqi carefully holds the jar with the scorpion in it (which would make sense now when you're thinking back to Hann (Alone in Winter) and Hwaa. I also couldn't help but notice the black outfits that all of the members are wearing during the scenes as if they are attending a funeral as the love has died. I also like that Soyeon during the scenes, is at the gate and making gestures like a lion, which she also mentions in the rap. I thought it was a clever detail to put in. The ruins and the desert could represent being abondened, and deserted, as they are at literal abondened ruins and deserts. I was thinking that the flower we see could also represent them growing as a person, and a start of their new chapter. Since they also sing about blooming as a flower in Hwaa, it would make sense the flower is also representing that. I love all of their creativity blending into their songs. They are musical geniuses. Hann is still an amazing song as all of them are

It has been clarified by Yuqi and others on talk shows that the meaning of the English and Korean spelling of the group name is the same.
The (G) meaning Girl, likewise (여자) meaning Woman. I-DLE from "I" for "Individuality" and -DLE being Korean plural suffix. Therefore, the group name means the multiple individualities of each of the six members.
Don't mistake 아이들 for Children. While it does share the same spelling, it does not share the same meaning. It is merely phonics for Korean viewers to sound the "I" (아이).
I/i = 아이, -DLE = 들 Which is the reason why the logo is: [i들] and not 아이들. Classic mistake.
Once again, the group name has nothing to do with "children" even though it can spelt in such a way. The English rendition is more the official version than the Korean; the Korean is in place for native readers who may mispronounce it. After all, writing it (G)아이들 or (G)I들 would be weird so they just equivocated it to (여자)아이들. Hope that clears up the misunderstanding! 🙂

Soyeon basically made the song (CUBE originally asked her to make a LATATA 2.0 but Soyeon decided to go with her gut at made a different sounding song instead), directed the concept (like she deadass said she wanted to film in a desert with black outfits and they created a whole set with fake sand and black outfits, they trust her vision so much!!), and she even choreographed Shuhua's dance break! I hope they allow more input from other members as well since it seems like they have a lot of ideas too, but for now, they really trust Soyeon with Idle so I'm sure this will continue since Soyeon's concepts/songs clearly are working for them :)

Using Minnie's whisteling is such a clever thing and I love the idea of the whistle going out in the distance of an open desert along with the undertone of the piano, the haunting hums and the instrumental. The way they also pitch it also adds to the isolation that this song has and makes it sound haunting. This is really thought out well. The Scorpion could also be implying the toxic relationship, while it also could reference about still holding onto something, hence Yuqi carefully holds the jar with the scorpion in it (which would make sense now when you're thinking back to Hann (Alone in Winter) and Hwaa. I also couldn't help but notice the black outfits that all of the members are wearing during the scenes as if they are attending a funeral as the love has died. I also like that Soyeon during the scenes, is at the gate and making gestures like a lion, which she also mentions in the rap. I thought it was a clever detail to put in. The ruins and the desert could represent being abondened, and deserted, as they are at literal abondened ruins and deserts. I was thinking that the flower we see could also represent them growing as a person, and a start of their new chapter. Since they also sing about blooming as a flower in Hwaa, it would make sense the flower is also representing that. I love all of their creativity blending into their songs. They are musical geniuses. Hann is still an amazing song as all of them are
The whistling is nothing special, the rap is a horrible noise, and the song is musically boring, like the other (G)I-DLE songs I've heard.

Who else in gg 4th gen can rap faster than her? No one. Soojin has that sultry voice. And Shuhua can make any lines super catchy.
