      @@nikrusty I know right? We haven't evolved genetically as far back as ancient Roman times, 4,000 years ago. Most animal species that take that long to adapt end up becoming Extinct.
      We are lucky our technology has evolved MUCH faster. Too fast. Tech comes so fast we don't understand the impact on nature. Like how 300+ million cars running for hours every day effect the Earth's atmosphere on a planetary scale. Oops wrong thread. Sorry guys 😃 I'll save my tree hugger speach for Reddit and Quora. P.S. Star Wars rules!!! 😁

    My question is, that can you use this suit as an actual undersuit of a real clone trooper cosplay? Becouse in that way, you could've record mutch realistic movements, like for example, in 4:08, youre arm is collapsing with youre chest, and also, you could't crouch that way in a clone armor. But in an clone trooper armor, you could've feel youre movements, making them almost 100%realistic. And yeah I know, that a clone trooper cosplay isn't a cheap thing :)

    $3K is less than nothing for thr price of admission into 3d animation in the long run. Most 3d animators will tell you how much of a cheat code MoCap is. I'm unironically hyped to see what other peeps might do with this.

    To act movements for Clone troopers is sooo cool!
    I have to admit that I'm jealous. :)
    But you have to work on thinking, that you wear a clonetrooper armor, because it often looks like, that the tricept/upper arm armor is glitching in the side of the chest armor. ;)

    How was the retargeting process from Rokoko skeleton to UE4? Did you use regular Manequin or some custome one like AdvancedLocomotionSystem skeleton? Did you need to perform any major cleanup (other than proper setup of arm position to fit rifle for example)?
    Also, I wonder how did you learn overall about technical aspects of creating cinematics in UE4. Did you just relly on official documentation and Epic tutorials?
    And as usual thanks for all of your great work! You serve me as an inspiration as I'm getting into cinematics in UE4 as well! Though I'm still a rookie using Mixamo, but most of the time I dedicate to making my own models :D

    • @loacherfilms
      @loacherfilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I did my retargeting in Autodesk Maya
      The way I go about it is that I take my animation rig set up for the characters, and I transfer the mocap animation to the controllers of the rig using orient and parent constraints
      From then on cleanup is pretty simple, using animation layers and all that
      Yea I learned UE4 through official documentation, along with watching TH-cam tutorials
      The majority if what I've learnt comes from experimenting on my own however
      Thanks for the kind words! 🙏

    Great video. Did you end up animating the hands yourself(what did you do for hands)? or have they updated their suit to track hand motions? Thanks!

    • @loacherfilms
      @loacherfilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Finger tracking isn't included in the Smartsuit, for that Rokoko are working on tracking gloves. So yep, the finger movements were hand animated, hand animations were adjusted a bit to fit the characters.
