The Difference Between Fonts, Typefaces and Typography for UI Designers

  • Font, typeface, typography, type family? Are they different? Are they the same? How does it apply to UI design?
    Sometimes we hear these terms used interchangeably, but they are not actually the same and there are some distinct differences that can be helpful to know as a UI designer.

      Didn't catch the spelling error! Thanks. I debated with myself about the pronunciation - having heard it pronounced most commonly as 'new', sometimes as 'new-e' and once by a native German speaker as 'nu-yuh'. This felt the most natural to me. Curious, how do you all say it?

      @@DesignerUp Yes, in German nu-yuh would be correct, but as the word translates in English to "New", then *new* it should be :) Now let's talk about Helvetica Now. 🎉

    Please up your volume. Don't know if it's just me, but I always have to increase my volume to the highest just to hear you. Please look into this
