This story kinda reads like a video game, multiple different sections with different rules which kind of read like objectives you need to accomplish to proceed
And the magical green haired fairy with spare magazines and batteries... literally just resident evil 4 at that point lol.
It's pretty obvious by the descriptions and name choices of the characters that the writer plays Pay Day 2, Overwatch, and Rainbow 6 Siege.

As soon as the cerebral cortex program was mentioned I totally assumed they'd download him to it as he was retiring and, you know, he had all this knowledge about the base and its crazy operations. Many creepypastas are predictable so I enjoyed being wrong. Nicely done, anonymous author, and thanks for bringing the story to life Mr Creeps.

I still found it super predictable because the "I'm three days from retirement" *instantly dies* trope is SUCH a cliche that I literally thought Jason was joking when he first mentioned it.
Unlike other rule stories, I like how he’s experiencing multiple and only witnessing some rules. Makes it cooler in my opinion.

I've been having withdrawals, aching for a good rules story, and this really hit the spot! I love that it didn't get cut short or end on a cliff hanger. This was very thorough and well written. My biggest issue is with them putting him on an ite unit, with only 3 years experience, and 2 days before retirement (apparently VERY early retirement).
This was a really nice story. The rules were still doable and the consequences of failure were not outlandish. Most rule stories be too much and you think there is no way anyone would stay but these were still believable enough. The ending! I think I would have preferred to go to my natural Gracing life.

Around the end when the green hair girl and green eyes is flirting with him and he's not doing anything I was like doesn't he have a wife? I might be crazy but I swore I heard him freaking out around the beginning of the story about shooting his wife that was actually not really his wife?

This is one hell of a story
I don't care what anybody else says, I love these rule stories. Well most of them anyway. Some are just garbage but this one was excellent. Mr. Creeps always finds really good ones. And the phrasing and pronunciation of a few words in this story was fantastic! Like "uninstall life" and "Hoytler" were my favs, lol! Very well done Mr. Creeps, keep up the great work.

Having a guy who follows the rules is so refreshing, but it's a little ruined by Jason's predictable fate.
The "I'm three days from retirement" *dies* trope is SUCH a cliche that I literally thought Jason was joking when he first mentioned it.
As in, I've never heard of it being played straight. I've only heard the Nostalgia Critic say (after a movie clip of a monster eating a police officer or whatever) "Aw man, and wouldn't you know it! That policeman was only two days from retirement! 😆"
Stabbed and shot twice and just casually finishes his shift, and then is somehow completely recovered by the next day lol
Phew.
That sure did have some twists and turns.
I would have been so glad to Retire from that Job I wouldn't know what to do, lol.

This story is just awsome and stupidly funny at the same time
Here are the rules for all of you who want them :)
1. Do not under any circumstances get out of the hummer EVER (with the exception of rule #5)
2. If the radio in the hummer crackles to life answer it and if you hear anything other than my voice shut it off they are trying to locate you
3. The patrol route is clearly marked with yellow signs if you see any other sign other than yellow stop the hummer and radio the base well come and resolve the issue
4. You'll almost likely encounter an old man stop and ask him what he is doing if he says he is lost point him in the direction of the nearest town (which is 3 clicks do west of here) if he says anything else floor it run him over if you need to
5. If by any point you need to go to the washroom do it in under three minutes because that is the time for them to find you
6. If you encounter another hummer during patrol hail them if they respond continue as usual if not stop the hummer shut off the engine and pray to god they didn't see you
7. If you see anyone on the final 3rd of the patrol take the Glock 19 out of the glove compartment and shoot them no matter who they are if you haven't shot within two minutes of seeing them you're screwed
8. If at any point your hummer breaks down radio the base immediately someone will come pick you up
9. (most important one too) If you return to the base and see yourself waiting in your spot contact security immediately and request you be put into protective custody the guards will understand and they will tell you once they dealt with the situation
And lastly be careful out there we have lost two soldiers out there already don't become the third Good Luck - Sgt

This is the closest I've seen to my desire to see a "Strange List of Rules" creepypasta where the titular list is a mix of mundane work tips and protocols, and guidelines for dealing with the paranormal BS infesting the job.
I would love it more if there was a continuation of this but I don't think there is more
