I hope you do well , I had the same procedure and mine has now come undone ...pure hell I would really advise staying away from alcohol for atleast a year and no straining or heavy lifting for a year as well .I promise you it coming undone is worse than everything before having the procedure. It is a god aweful condition and its ashame that they haven't found something better that actually works and isn't just a bandaid that will cause other issues.
Thank you so much for your video update. I am 64 very athletic with an Esophageal ulcer, Hiatal hernia and Barret's Esophagus with low esophageal motility. The surgery is to help with GERD and heal this ulcer. A bit worried about swallowing and changes to my diet which my Dr. said will be forever. I will be on double dose PPIs for 6 months after surgery to heal this ulcer. Your videos are encouraging. So appreciate your updates
Hey man thanks for the comment. I wish you the best with your recovery. I haven't had any swallowing issues outside of the first few weeks. I made a video on the air bubble coming back up initially but that went away pretty quick. Today I am 65 days post surgery and I really do feel I have gotten my life back. I am still avoiding certain foods and I know I still get throat clearing if I eat a bunch of foods and alcohol, but I am still healing so this is to be expected. Best of luck brother.
@garyreyes8914 Hi Gary, how are you? I was just wondering how were you able to get the surgery if you have low motility? I keep reading the people who have (IEM) ineffective motility, or not candidates for surgery? Or maybe it depends how much of a degree it is What are your thoughts? And what surgery did you get?
Awesome update! Yes Rome wasn’t built in one day , u will overcome all of this just let ur body heal. Dont rush into anything, eat clean , train and do ur body right to heal a little faster . Have u gotten any heartburn? Like where you had to take any PPI for it? I think in 6 months u will completely heal from this
I completely agree. With the exception of about two times of regurgitation about a week after surgery, I have experienced no typical heartburn symptoms. Even these last few days where I’m only taking my ppi every other day. Before if I missed a day of my medication I would feel it almost immediately. Pretty soon I will only be taking my ppi every 3rd day. Just a slow disciplined cut back at this point.
I hope you’re doing well. In my case, I did the same surgery..nevertheless, I'm still facing the same symptoms apart from the unexpected complications. People who are willing to do this just think twice before the surgery. What here I wanted to tell was that the surgical results could be different from each other. Btw, I wish people who are facing the surgery wishing to get their lives back..❤
@@shanewelagedara872 yup I definitely have similar symptoms just not as bad but still equally as frustrating when you want health back. Keep me posted on your follow ups as I am going back to the doctor as well. Thank you for the positive message.
Hey bro I hope everything is going great for you! As I believe you will get your life back ! I was going to ask as some of us have the upcoming surgery could you make a video that will help us for the first 2 weeks pertaining the liquid diet! Like what did you consume from morning till night? That would be awesome of you could as I’m more nervous about the diet than anything else

How long before you could start hitting the gym again mate? I'm going for my op next month and dreading the months after that I won't be able to train properly. Are you also able to lift heavy, or does everything have to be super light, and avoiding the core etc?
you said you are 123 and after 2 month you become 230 you gained 3 kg right , so do you feel any throat discomfort and from surgery till now how much weight you have gained
@@hackattackanddefence4471 130 not 230 haha. My lowest point at surgery was probably 121. I stopped checking the scale after 123. I felt better after I got off my ppi and I would attribute that to the better digestion probably because I had more acid in my stomach. Felt good for a bit and got up to 138 but had some returning symptoms. That’s when I started having significant throat clearing again albeit not as bad as before surgery. I also noticed heavy bloating. I put two and two together and since then have been focusing on addressing my gut motility because I was almost at the threshold of gastroparesis. Ever since I upped my fiber intake consistently I have been doing good which currently has been about a week and a half. There were random times before when I would up my fiber with a supplement for a few days and I felt better but never out two and two together until recently. I am now taking fiber everyday and it has been doing wonders.
