keep at it Liam, practice makes perfect and it will suddenly click. Tough when you've got Steam Train Charlie as teach, but you got to admit, you're in a pretty privileged position. As always, great vid Charlie boi 👍
Think I've been watching too many of these. Woke up in a cold sweat last night convinced I'd missed out a load of wall ties and forgot to clean up those damn snots... Then I remembered I'm not even a bricklayer. 😆 Never laid a brick I'm my life.
Charlie, you have now reached the stage where you masonry skills are just excellent. I'd love to see you get into masonry restoration. Your attention to detail would allow you to excel! Mortar color matching , etc That's what my company does. Custom restorations, cracks repaired , total restoration of all masonry work . Pleasure watching your videos!
Keep at it Liam worth sticking at it. I seen plenty a go get frustrated go back to hod or labouring coz they can do it. Then later regret not earning the decent money and potential a trade gives you. I was white slow and kept forgetting wall ties.straight joints. Losing bond, forgetting damp and cavity trays. All sorts of dock ups. It's part of learning.
I've always used blakes and block dolly's for this, just find it easier.. But we all have our own ways. Nice to see you spend the time teaching the gang... It'll pay off in time 👍🧱

She's getting there Charlie lad, come on in leaps and bounds brother, good on you Amey your deffo getting there girl, you'll be earning more than the boss man gets soon init Charlie 😳 😏 😂👍🏼
how often do you get frustrated with the crew? i know they are green but it can get tough at times. cheers for being a good teacher and showing patience.
As someone who used to be on the hod I reqlly admire Charlie's patience with his gang . Alot of foremen I see treat the apprentices like absokute shite then wonder why no apprentices are coming through .I can tell it would be a great gang to be in ,and I hope they soak up all the valuable info 👍

Hi charlie i see you cutting the membrane ..here in my my town in wales we have to overlap to the outside brickwork to stop radon gas
Do u have to put wheep holes around the building then? Wouldn't there be a build up of mortar droppings then, serious question?
The membrane folds down 3 courses below dpc
Basicly a tray around the building

If you just ram a wall tie into the bed they are basically doing nothing at all. You might aswell not bother putting them in.
Load of bollox. Maybe if the bed has gone right off and you try and push it in. When it’s fresh it don’t make a difference
You drilled a bed out and pushed one in the other day too.
your right the ties wont bed bedded in correctly would fall out easily as your basiclly making a hole with the head of the tie which makes it lose
