It’s also good seeing you out and about Mike keep it up it’s good for your healing my Freind and ya make some 44 mag with trail boss keep them coming and God Bless you sir
Willie Bulletman Hopefully my next trip back there will be some 44 mags with 800x. Kenny said he would run my loads through his program and try to figure out the pressure curve for me with that 310gr Lee flat point.
Mike Treen . I’d like to have one with the round counter on the side. Either 243, 250 or 300 like that one. Not a lot of them down here in the south. I here they were real popular in the northeast.👍🏻
Georgiaboy44 yeah, they were as popular up here as the 30-30 Winchester and Marlin. Really popular in Canada also. I guess Hornady did a run of the 250-3000 ammo so brass is available.
It’s actually my ex-wife’s now. She was going to give it to me when her mom died but I said no because it should go to one of the grandkids. She doesn’t have anywhere to store it so it’s in my safe. I have a 99 in .308 that I use every year. It doesn’t miss 😁
Ya I love that program when Kenny was here in my home town he fixed my laptop and payed to have that program installed on my computer he’s one hell of a guy
Great video Mike . I love seeing those old rifles . The step mom was right , it was made to be shot .I always thought they were a cool looking lever gun .
Willie Bulletman Thanks Willie. Was great seeing you in the chat tonight! Hopefully you got something decent to eat. Most hospital food sucks. I’d rather have 2 week old 7-11 nachos than hospital food.
I’m thinking it’s 24”. Those were the Lee .30 caliber bullets you sent me. I didn’t realize it until I got back there that I left ducky in the reloading room on my coffee cup 😁
Yes sir! And for some reason this one just shoots for me. As much as I hate peeps I can hit with it. First time I ever shot it I nailed a 2 liter at 100 yards.
Love the old Savage leverguns. I didn't know they made take down versions.
This was the first one I had seen.

I've always wanted a Savage levergun. I see them in some shops at times. Nice gun and glad your saved it.
Thank you. I have a soft spot for savage 99’s .
Wow, a 99 and a take down model to boot! There’s a 99 on my wish list.👍🏻🇺🇸
Georgiaboy44 around here they are few and far between. Guys that have them keep them and when they do go up for sale, they’re expensive.
Mike Treen . Same here. There’s one near me that had the stock squared off and a recoil pad added and drilled and tapped for a scope, $800
Georgiaboy44 yeah, they go for $6-800 up here. Just depends on condition and caliber.

Very cool rifle. I usually struggle with peep sights also.
243 Outdoors I leave the peeps to my daughter. She shot NRA small bore and air rifle matches, so she’s used to it 😁
We got a Mike video !! You got a great rifle and a great caliber, plus its a Take-down; WOW.. they were one of the best meat getters around.

Good job cleaning it up! I like it
Thanks Josh! It was quite an honor to work on this for her.
Great lever gun for sure.
MrHolster thank you sir!
That's really accurate very cool old gun.
Thank you!

I’ve thought about getting it but I need to talk to him and see if it’s something I really need.

Thanks James! It was fun getting it back in my hands again. My ex mother in law was quite the character. Loved her dearly and really miss her.
Ha ha, love those leverguns!
Full.Lead.Taco the original assault rifle!
Great old girls stretcher legs Mike it’s really good to see you doing a Nother video please keep it up we love seeing Mike Treen on TH-cam

Sweet gun, Mike. I had a Winchester Model 88 lever gun in .308 many years ago. Always thought the Savage had better lines, though.
JCM45 I agree. They just have those sleek lines to them. Hard to believe they didn’t change much from the first to the last.
Nice ,how long is that barrel, 300sav. very cool they did shoot good,👍👍👏👏🇺🇸🤓

Mike Treen 🤣😂🦆🦆
Thats damn cool
Beautiful rifle sir! And yes, we all say it, “gun safe jewelry “, but all of them need to be fired every now and then. It keeps them happy!
