8:52 that sound he does, you're doing an alternate version. He just does a high pitch note with it. Think of an elmo voice impression, but with that sound. To do this sound, you don't need saliva or anything gathered up, just need your throat to not be dry. Swallow while letting your tounge hit the roof of your mouth, that sound forms through an exhale and vibrates your tounge and vocals. You feel it very high up in your throat, it goes slightly more forward though. Let your tounge relax a little, exhale, it'll come naturally.
you should watch remix's video on the inward double voice. I know its not same as normal one, but the idea is same just inwards, and for olders guys its easier to hit, i never knew it could be done inwards and as soon as i tried i did it after like year of sounding constipated doing it outwards.
