Lovely as usual, thank you. You did give me a feeling of missing time for a moment though. I think that Douglas needs a few prompts about social commentating :-)
Because he is a Bonny Cat 🌞. I still have , and use, my Volume 1 Tune Book, the first tune book I ever bought, at Loughborough Festival in 1969, for my English concertina .......and a year later, thanks to Ray Fisher, my Bill Hedworth 9 key set. I should have worked harder at Lugoboro, but that's an obvious story 🤗
@@TheKathrynTickell I was sort of deeply aware, because the last day of July was always my Dad's birthday and this is the first time since 1921 that it isn't. He was always a cat-lover and he was of a large-enough frame for all five of his cats (mostly Devon Rexes) to sit on him at once, some on the shoulders rather than the lap or knees.
Ah, cats... My wife was owned by a Maine Coon cat when I met her. When I practiced on an Eb tin whistle, he used to stomp out of the living room to the end of the hall, sit with his back to me, and turn and glare when I hit a high note. On the other hand, he absolutely loved Matt Molloy's wooden flute. He was sleeping on the couch one day when I put on a Chieftains album, and when Matt Molloy started playing a solo, the cat woke up and looked around for the source of the music, then watched the speaker and listened to the whole tune. After that tune finished, he settled back to sleep. Obviously, I had picked up the wrong instrument! :)
My cat has a strange taste for Mongolian overtone singing. I try to do a little bit of it for fun, and every time, he would walk towards me, sit, stare at me then mew. Maybe it gives him some hearing resonances humans can't perceive.
@@PhebusdesTours Are they not amazing individuals? My little black cat, years ago, used to go sideways, arch-backed, tail straight up, and circle me whenever I would do a long, high hiss. Very funny, never seen the like of it since. (Hope to see her again in heaven!)
A lovely tune from a lovely woman in a lovely home with a lovely cat.
Thank you very much! : D
Loving that your cat is vibing to the tune😂❤
Thanks...cool tune...and showing how patient cats can be with humans.
Lovely playing and a lovely Cat!
How I wish I knew someone who could pick up the pipes so casually. I'd make them endless cups of tea (or wine) to play continually.
What a beautiful, talented woman playing a lovely little ditty.
Thank you Kathryn.
Very Nice. Thank you. Learning the tune on the fiddle.
Grand and wonderful playing as always, but the cat absolutely makes the video!
The cat seemed to find it relaxing too.
Great stuff, always love getting to hear important folk songs which form part of our heritage. Keep up the good work.
Just came across this although I'm already subscribed. Nice bouncy tune Kathryn which I really enjoyed. A good note to go to bed on. Thanks!
How can you not feel good after that? Great size on that cat. Mine climbs right to the piano keys.
That’s a lovely tune Katherine, thanks!
Really like the tone on your pipes, I imagine the fingering is similar to the Irish whistle.
Love your music so much. Thank you Beautiful Lady !
Lol, the cat was like “ugh, again with the pipes. Alright then get it over with, anytime now.”
just brilliant love this piper (AND she lets her cat sit on the table )
Magical, as always.
Fantastic, always love these.

I didn't know that the cat was there until you struck up 😂
Lovely cat too!

It's actually the last day of July, today... Nice tune, though and it's always nice to see a long-suffering cat standing by its owner.
Arghhh....I did say I was in a panic....

Ah, cats! Adorable story...and so charming that this cat showed up when KT began playing! (I hope hir pained foot is OK or being looked after.)

@@PhebusdesTours That is pure awesome! But maybe he was asking you to stop. :) I love throat singing, but haven't a hope of trying it myself.
love how douglas just moves a few feet and thinks 'mums at it again'
Hello dear. I want some piping papers from you. Is it possible??
Cats will always sit on music if it's laid flat.
What eejit gave the thumbs down?
Music for pipes, cat, and cabbage.
Lovely! Why do cats never like live music??!
Cats 😻 have no musical taste..
