  • Our series delves into the lives of the Canadian film industry community, immersing ourselves in their unique stories of struggle, recovery, and hopes for the future.
Sharing personal stories about our challenges reinforces feelings of strength. It is also a powerful tool to combat stigma and shame. By “being seen” through our stories we have a greater sense of belonging, it connects us to our communities and the people within them. By engaging in these conversations we can also see what culture change within our industry can look like.
Sharing our experiences inspires others to seek the help and support they need, as well as healing ourselves in the process. We hope something in this series resonates with you, and that you also feel seen by watching.

So awesome to see this Jen. We need more conversations like this one…. And more openness to change, as you so eloquently have shared!

Thank you for sharing your story. As a fellow ‘young’ breast cancer survivor I wish you all the best in your journey!🥰 It blows my mind that doctors still pooh-pooh women under 50 with signs of the disease. I was blessed to have two GPs that took me seriously when I raised concerns (diagnosed at 37, but symptoms had started at 36), and we managed to catch mine at stage 1, grade 2, right when a second tumor was starting to develop. My oncologist later said they were starting to see more women under 40 being diagnosed, and it tended to be more agressive than in older women. I’ve had so many coworkers stunned when they realize bc isn’t just an ‘older lady’ disease anymore.

Beautiful filming Alice. Please continue with the amazing work that your series brings to the World. It is a loud reminder that professionals in film are hman beings and we all have limitations.
