I mean you start by asking 日本語大丈夫ですか？which means "Is it ok if I speak Japanese? " They say yes (of course) and then you procede to ask them questions in English and Korean...what did you expect?
you come to Japan, visit a Japanese university, approach Japanese students, and expect them to do an English interview with you? either you haven't done your research or just plain dull hahaha
