Full / unedited takeoff footage from this flight over to PHX:
    • Southwest Airlines 737...
    ----------------------------------------------
After nearly 8 months of being grounded due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have officially returned to the skies! It’s not a permanent return though, as I don’t expect to be flying much over the next few months at least. But this is better than nothing, right?
The other really exciting thing about this is that it’s my first ever Southwest Airlines review. I have flown Southwest Airlines many times in the past, but this was the first time that I ever took the time to make a prover review / trip report video of the experience.
Speaking of the experience itself, this is footage from Southwest Airlines flight number 2440 from San Diego (SAN) to Phoenix (PHX). I purchased the Business Select option, which allowed me to be the first on the plane. It also gave me the opportunity to score seat 7A - a window seat just ahead of the wing for this 45-minute flight.
The aircraft was a 737-800 (registered as N8551Q).

@@sanspotter It does seem a difficult balance to reach. We must take this virus seriously, but at what point do we question whether destroying the economy is a price too great to pay? Here in the UK small businesses are going under - I know so many people who are now unemployed for the first time in their adult lives through no fault of their own. That said, health and human life are always paramount. Let’s hope an effective vaccine comes online and we can start to move towards a new normal. How are you? Given what you do, I imagine things aren’t easy for W right now. I, for one, really appreciate all you do. Thanks for the video. What I have worked really well for the fogged up glasses thing. I got some masks with a bit of wire embedded across the brim. As a glasses wearer as well, I thankfully had a mask with nose guard/fitter things. For those that didn't, I bought 50 metal strips from Amazon for $5 that can adhere to the mask on the outside to help it fit around your nose. They worked for a bit but then my partner sowed them on to make it more permanent. No more foggy glasses unless I exhale a bunch!
Also, it's great to see you back in the sky! 2020 has been so weird that you complimenting T1 wasn't too out of place.

I second this. The stick on aluminum strips work pretty good, unless you have a super thick mask. And I find if you can get your glasses to go on top of the mask far enough then they don't fog that much.

    Solutions for fogged glasses:
Catcrap spray. (That's the brandname, I don't make this stuff up)
A mask that pinches against your nose better
And wearing your glasses over the mask, instead of letting the mask touch your glasses.

I agree with you !! All airlines should provide their passengers a couple of regular size bottles of water no matter what !! Hydration on planes is very important for our health !! Some of us are more prone to blood clots formation & kidney stones !! The regular water on planes are the same from the septic tank of toilets ,not too healthy for us !! I recently flew with Virgin, they didn't give us a bottle of water but regular water on my flights !! They might had given us a half cup of bottled water in a different container ,but only with meals if they did ! I kinda remember of drinking those ! I wasn't too happy !! Lol 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤✈️💞

We flew CID-DFW on October 24th, and DFW-ORD on November 1st on AA and both of our flights were full. The flight to Chicago was on a 787-8 and I was surprised that every seat on the plane was taken.
We are supposed to fly to Salt Lake City for Christmas. Our most recent change saw our flight from ALO to ORD cancelled so we have to drive a rental car to ORD and catch the flight from there. Originally they had us flying ALO-ORD-DFW-PHX-SLC, then they changed it to ORD-DFW-SLC but now we are on a direct flight between ORD and SLC but the worst part is we are no longer on an Oasis interior 737. What could be worse than that you say -- our 737 has been downgraded to a CRJ700. Oh well, I guess I should be happy, it could have been a CRJ200!

Solution I have to the glasses thing. use the nose bridge of your glasses to pinch your mask to your face. By doing so it prevents the air from fogging them up. I learned this by going to my college football game.

  • @rollingtroll

1:05 Get a proper soft mask (with the blue outside) and twist the earties, that way it pushes up against your cheeks and it prevents 70% of the fogging up
