  • NEW SERIES ALERT!! In this video, "Top 5: Reasons Your Ball is Not Turning Over," I will go through five reasons you can not hit your best ball! I am excited to add a more lighthearted, different and comic element to my channel. Although still very informative and instructional, I think showing more of my personality and keeping things fresh and simple will be great for the PuntFactory youtube going forward! Enjoy guys!
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    My goal with the channel is to bring attention to the wonderful world of punting through interviews, vlogs, "Plogs" (Punt Travel/session logs), "PuntChat," film breakdown etc. I also will be recording a "How to Punt a Football" series, where I give step by step instruction on how to punt a fotball, from the footwork to the grip etc!
    I have been coaching with Chris Sailer Kicking since 2004 and started the PuntFactory in 2014 here in LaVerne, California.
    I will tell you more along the way, I am so excited to share this world with you all!

    My son is a kicker and punter. As soon as we started focusing on the upper body and hips (strength and position), his kicks and punts improved dramatically. for his punts, it took several weeks for him to keep his shoulders forward, but now he says it is so much more comfortable for him. thanks for thinking of the whole body and not just the feet.

    I was turning them over in middle school and high school. If I had listened to the coach, I might’ve actually been somebody.

    I am eighty years old. At the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland Oregon. We have a decathlon every year. One of my 10 events is the punt. The record for the 80 to 84 group is 81.5 feet. I am going for the record, but I haven’t been getting a consistent spiral. I’ve watched all the available videos and yours was the best. The only question I have is where is the exact contact point on the back of the ball?Thanks for the fine video.

    • @ThePuntFactory
      @ThePuntFactory  ปีที่แล้ว

      First of all you’re a damn legend! The exact contact point is on the bottom right panel near the middle of the panel!

    I have a problem that if i don't turn it a lot at an angle, it won't turn over or even get close, normally a wounded duck. Any tips on this?

      You have to trust it brother IMO the pros outweigh the cons keeping the ball straighter. Nothing past the nose at 10 o clock

    I can not believe how many Punt videos I have seen on TH-cam recently.
    I wish this many people loved it 15 years ago.
    I was an absolute MONSTER at punting, unfortunately did nothing with it. This is awesome to see people appreciating the art of it. Almost got a tear in my eye!

      @@ThePuntFactory Amazing. I admire your work ethic and dedication to actually make it as a D1 Punter. Especially in THAT Era as well.
      As a kid I would bet people I could punt it over buildings and structures, they wouldn't ever believe it untill I would clear it entirely.
      I was knocking 60-65+ yarders in highschool and would echo the "BOOM" when hitting that sweet spot every time. 40-50 yarders against the wind (strict form, and small room for error). Coffin corner, inside the 5 yd line standing at the 50 yard line was second nature. The stadium would be in awe. BUT, I was young, dumb and unfocused, so I never took it to the next level.
      Im happy to see you passing on the knowledge brotha!! Keep on keeping on!

    For, me it was my lack of flexibility. I had a great drop, but when I would hit it my leg was not kicking straight through it. It was traveling toward the center of my body during the leg swing. This caused me to hit the inside of the ball, and it usually did not turn over. Once I got warmed up and more flexible it was a lot better.

    Great video. Question. I’m coaching sixth grade punters. How can I teach them a punt that will have a great roll after ground contact? They don’t have a lot of power yet. So our head coach wants them to try to punt to get a roll.🤔 thanks

    • @ThePuntFactory
      @ThePuntFactory  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Absolutely I would say hold the nose slightly down and have them kick the back side of the ball - create a top spin roll - if that makes sense! If they keep ball flat it will be 50/50 if they get a good roll!
