  • all it takes is a little ingenuity and I think I cracked the code on WHERE EXACTLY to hit the ball at using science! Probably one of the most informative videos out there and takes out all the guess work with hitting a spiral! Hope you enjoy!

I've been wanting to do something like this for ages, very happy you showed the internet this video. So many times when I am watching my own film I see where I'm hitting the ball, but not where my foot is molding with the ball. Clutch vid!

I've been looking to do it too! Happy I've finally been able to execute it and this is just the first of many like this!

since punters need to be athletes too, can you show us your speed and agility routine?

Awesome. This is some great knowledge. Thanks for sharing and doing functional science for us.

It's like the golfer who discovers the perfect swing. I'm a cardinals fan so I hope the pick you up after lee retires. Special teams was the cardinals specialty for many many years.

straight swing, up through the ball, and as it compresses on your foot, it starts to "roll down hill" off of your foot to cause a spiral. Only works if your foot direction is "Through the ball" and "not across the ball". That's a cool experiment. I may have to play with that (I have just a few...eh...mis-hits - meaning a lot...)

    Beautiful clouds, and punts also

Love your scientific approach. However, you really didn’t demonstrate the strike point on the ball. This was possibly just a poor camera angle. I would like to see you tell me exactly how much the ball is inclined downward and exactly how much it is inclined inward and exactly where the laces are and exactly where the chalk mark is on the back of the ball on the best punts. Maybe punt toward the camera. Great idea.

So as a righty it’s barely right of the seam (right panel of the ball)?

I definitely didn’t trust that Isaac new were to strike the football back when he made the “how hard is it to be a punter” and spent a month trying to strike the football were he said, only to have terrible punts then meet up with my punting coach and he tells me Isaac is dead wrong, so i start trying to do what my coach is teaching me and then finally Isaac realizes he is wrong about how to kick a football. This definitely didn’t happen at all😂

To clarify in that video, the spot I put on the football is more so where to look to hit the spot on the opposite side of the ball correlating with that spot. I was very new to video making so when I realized it didn't really make sense how I showed it, It seemed like too much work to go back and edit so I apologize for that.

Any professional Australian rules football player could easily tell you the best way to kick/punt a football!

Wrong ! very few even know how to kick a torp these days, in fact kicking in the AFL is going backwards!. Current NFL punters can spiral a ball much better that any AFL player ever can that's why the distance record is held by an American
