Thank Jesus for this wonderful opportunity ; these gospel songs brings back Christian memories . I remembered them as if it were yesterday. As I sat in church listening to a group of young people singing these lovely songs. They are indeed uplifting , thanks again Jesus. Amen
It's so beautiful to hear these mass choirs worshiping the Lord. But a little bit late in my life I realized that this is the only way Christians should sing worshiping songs, at least among adults. The reason is because remember that when our Lord comes back, WE ALL are going to sing at unison. No single singers, not even probably quartets or small choirs, ALL of us along with the angels. Other reasons would be that our churches are becoming theaters where the singers get all the credit for displaying singing skills mainly solos, duets, all the way to small choirs. When I met the Lord some 35 years ago we would not clap after singers, it was disrespectful and it is because, as I said lines above, the singer gets the credit and the worship becomes idolatry; we only should yell AMEN!!! We clap to a human being, and as human beings we are always susceptible to vanity and we like it. It's undeniable. So many Evangelical churches were the spring board for secular singers as Amy Grant, the late Prince, Elvis Presley, Bod Dylan to name just a few. Perhaps, solos in a given church service should be presented ONLY by kids below 10 y/o once in a while and elders who desire to do so in their hearts. I hope pastors and church members soon realize thESE facts so our church services gear towards WORSHIPING OUR SAVIOR ALONE.
Gustavo I am a worhipping leader in my church. And I DO understand completely what u are saying. Me too I am not that comfortable when the assembly acclaim the worhip group. I find it like a sort of disrecpect after God and I feel really bad about that. What I try always to tell them is that they should not listening to us, but listen to their own heart, and then they will hear God talking to them there. We are not worshippers to be worshipped but rather to take the asembly to the throne and leave them there. We are not bridges, but rather like worshipping encouraging intercessors. Never take the place that is not ours. So I DO understand you.
