- Thanks to a dominant defense that made a key goal-line stand and also forced a safety on George Martin’s sack of John Elway, the Giants trailed only 10-9 at half. The offense roared to life with 30-point second half as MVP Phil Simms had one of the best statistical performances in Super Bowl history, completing 22 of 25 passes for 268 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs.

LT.... never forget watching that guy play...grew up seeing linebackers like Ray Nitchke, Dick Butkus, Tommy Nobis, but LT was something to watch man.
and that `91 game man...my brother dropped by on the way to that SB and said who do you like? told him go with the Giant defense and go under...he did and showed back up giving me all the goodies (swag) he got at the game that yr....man was that a game.

just watched this rerun with me dad. he watched this live with 12 of his buddies in Haverstraw, NY, along with my recently deceased grandfather. watching this game with him brought him back 30 years. thank god and hail mary for the NY GIANTS... GO BLUE!!!

I grew up a Giants fan from 1973 onward. They were so bad before the mid-80s. Their ascent to the Superbowl was so rapid that they were still a bunch of humble Joes. Beautiful.

If you are around 60 years old, you were just a little too young to remember the '61, '62 & '63 NFL Championship Games. You started rooting for the Giants around 1966 or so. All you had was losing teams and no playoffs. OK we had '70 & '72 winning records, but with limited teams in the playoffs, we had to suffer year after year. Instead the Cowboys, Steelers, and Raiders became national teams. All that nonsense ended with this game!
