I wasn’t going to comment but thought what the heck! Maybe he’ll read it. Lol I live in NW Florida where redfish are a dime a dozen. Snook are scarce (caught one here on accident). But I’ve always wanted to travel down and do exactly what you’re doing now. I love how you’re questioning everything and figuring them out. This is the kind of content that I crave! Keep ‘em coming brother! This channel is highly slept on. -D
Thanks for the comment goad you enjoyed!!
@@justin_menendez always, brother! 💪
Yep that was a lizzard fish
Snagged yourself one of my favorite campsites in the area! Saw you on the way out that morning and thought "oh shit, I know that boat!" Was hoping you'd have some more luck than we have been recently, but it's the way she goes sometimes.
yeah seemed fairly slow overall but I think another month and it will pick up with the warm weather.
Thanks for sharing the adventure. Look forward to part II.
Thanks for watching!
We stayed a few days in Everglades city last year and found a few trout and a snook. Def seems better in the summertime but I’ve only been once
I agree spring and summer. Thats how it is in most of Florida.
congrats on 10k!! your hard work is paying off....just like your grind in the video. appreciate the real real, because alot of people think it's easy, but it's not! keep hustlin! I'm bummed because I could not meet you at Steve's last weekend, but I have no doubt that we will. we have a couple mutual friends. anyway, thanks bro for putting together another fantastic video!
I fished the Everglades with a guide last spring and it was fantastic! Went with Jake Turek out of Bud n Mary’s in Islamorada. I caught plenty of snook and Reds plus 2 small Tarpon.also limited out on some 16-18” mangrove snapper that I took home. Its beautiful out there but beware we saw 10-12 big ass salt water crocs just laid up on some of the beaches! They didnt move but def demand some respect!🤣😎
Great video! Definitely makes me want to go down and get lost in the ‘Glades too
It’s been rough over there the past month or so. Cold weather has turned off the bite, but we still make it work just takes alot of casts. If you get bored your should try casting out some cut bait for sharks from that beach. We been catching a lot.
You need to do this trip but in the warmer months, so the Goliath grouper will be active
yeah lesson learned!
Lizard fish for sure! We will use them live for striper bait in central NJ. Catch 2 or 3 each summer.
Lizard fish for sure. Great channel!
Awesome video Justin!! Love the content.. We know how tricky it can be during winter, good job tho.. Tight lines✌️
I pedal endless miles in the Louisiana marsh until I run into fish just as you said.
That one fish at about the 12min mark is indeed a Lizard Fish. I also like to call them “Pasco County Trout” or “CrackFish” 😅
The Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands areas can be like shooting fish in a barrel one day and then it can serve up some humble pie the next. I've been on multiple trips from Goodland down to Lostman's and it's quite amazing what it can choose to serve up.
yeah really interesting area that probably takes a lifetime to understand!
i was out there on saturday on my gheenoe, was really rough coming in on sunday! only caught a few small sharks
Need that instant tent! Much quicker to put up.
No spines on the lizard fish, he’s just a slippery little dude with their body shape. They can be a great bait
Sweet dude. I do a lot of fishing in Flamingo out of my River hawk, let's link up and fish some time.
In my neck of the woods! Yeee boiii
that was indeed a lizardfish and they are great snook bait… you should make a video using them for snook
You can actually keep 1 Goliath now.... But it requires a special permit
Might be a stupid question but is a trip like this doable with two people in a gheenoe? Just picked one up and not sure the capabilities lol
how do you like your fin nor sunglasses? idk much about them but started seeing them more and more, and their price resembles costa or smiths.
👍, do you like eating fish, have you done a catch and cook before
yes I have done a few! I love cooking and I will for sure try to do more in the future!
Yes, that would be a Lizard Fish
Lizard fish is correct great bait for snook
How do you like the Penn squall baitcaster? I’m contemplating getting one but I’m still on the fence
I actually don't have that reel so I am unsure about it! I bet it handles well though!
How do you get your Penn slammer to not sound like a freight train?
What campsite is that?
Welcome to the west coast where fishing is HORRIBLE. Especially in the glades, seeing a slot snook is rare.
What Island are you camping on?
It think you are correct. Do believe that is a lizard fish.
Lizard Fish = Grouper bait
That’s a lizard fish and they are not spiny
Can’t you take a single Goliath in a slot with a special permit obtained in a lottery?
Yes
Yes you can but unfortunately I wasn't awarded one this year.
Yooo do you have a face book
Fuck the west coast...East coast all day 386 boiiiiii🤙
Def a Lizard fish
Give me the k tails Justin
First
Been waiting for you to get back to the Everglades
Can grab the lizard fish no problem....grab em like a ladyfish
