Excellent video Bro! Been looking for a Squirrel Sniper Rifle for about a year now and had issues with several different models but checked one of these out yesterday and I am stoked. I think I am pulling the trigger on this one. It was super light to the point of being shocking and seemed well built!!!

I bought the BMR steel barrel and man, it is really nice! Bergara must of tweaked the bolt some cause mine bought on 4-18-2022 has been fine, except when using CCI subsonic ammo, not sure why it hated that particular ammo but it loves Federal match ammo. Zero regrets buying this gun.

Just sighted my Begara cabon BMR in yesterday. 40 yard 5 shot groups just under 1/4" groups using run of the mill 40 grain Aguila Super Extra.
I mounted a Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 with a Champion bipod. NICE trigger !
VERY accurate .22 rifle !
Top grade ($) ammo "should" be phenominal !!!!!
All groups were 4" high and 1 1/2" to the right, ran out of adjustment on the scope. Crosshairs held right on the dime sized bullseye, but point of impact high and right. Called Vortex was sent a mailing tag by email within 10 minutes to send the scope back, ZERO PROBLEMS. Talked to Kate, great person with great service. I have the same scope on two other target .22's without any problems. Can't wait to shoot it more.

I received 2 mags with mine. One would cause the issues he complains about the other was butter smooth. I went ahead and ordered another mag and it's also butter smooth. VERY VERY accurate rifle. I shoot mine in nrl22.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video and tell us about the rifle. I wonder how the rifle groups now, assuming you have a thousand rounds or more down the barrel. I know all my rimfires shoot better after some break in, including those with premium aftermarket barrels that are hand lapped. I do have a question for you. Why are you shooting right handed, but using the left-handed side of the bench? You accuracy would almost certainly improve if you didn't have your right elbow unsupported and waving in the wind.
Thanks for watching! This was a while back, but I think I had something going on with my elbow and it felt way better shooting that way. I did not keep the rifle. It didn't improve after ~500 rounds .

Thanks for watching! I'm pretty sure the wolf is repackaged Eley ammo. It had an Eley stamp on the brass. Not sure which round though. It could also just be an Eley case with a wolf load.

I have it in .22 mag and get dime sized groups at 50 yards everytime. Mine loves the CCI TnT. 2.3 lb trigger from the factory. My favorite gun!

Good video. Waiting on mine to arrive. I already have a bunch of cci mini mag laying around. I noticed you said no stingers through it. Would mini mags be okay to use?
Thanks for watching! Stingers are the only round that is not recommended because of that extra long case. Everything else should be fine (except for some really rare rounds that are built with stinger brass but you would know if you had one). Short answer: Mini mags are good to go!

Wolf Subsonic ammo was produced by SK a few years ago. Now the new stuff is produced by Eley.
i would like to point out of 1 (potential) flaw. if the gun was cleaned before hand it may take severl shots to season the bore. almost all my .22s shoot better after several shots and i had one that i wouldnt clean because it took a box to season the bore before it would shoot sub half moa. also good video!

I'm curious, did the bolt ever smooth out? i have been trying to decide between the T1X and the BMR. i was leaning toward the T1X but, now i'm leaning towards the BMR.... My CZ 457 needs a new friend ;)
Thanks for watching! It didn't ever smooth out significantly. I ended up parting ways.
That is really good considering it's brand new, it usually takes me several thousand rounds and bore polish to break them in.
That, and dedicated front and rear sand bags, sitting on the left side of the bench, stop lifting your head up after each shot, etc, will make your groups tighter.

That eley looked like my groups at 20 yards lol. The most accurate .22lr I’ve shot was MP 15-22 AR, and my grandpas no brand heavy wood bolt action with iron sights lol.

Thers wers problems with the ejectors wiggling around a bit causing weak ejection issues. Can be fixed by staking the ejector. Easy any fast to do.

22 power for a .22? Maybe I’ve been doing something wrong idk. 3-9x has been good for me for everything. I never shot any targets past 100-150yds in my life. I want to try at the range though, is that scope pretty clear? I found Leupold was the most clear of all the ones I tested, what about you Goob?
Thanks for watching! My eye sight sucks, so I appreciate a good scope. I've had and have a bunch of Leupold Scopes and they were all great. The higher end Vortex scopes are very good as well. You should definitely give a nice high magnification scope a try. They're really easy to sell if you decide they're not for you.
My buddies and I like plinking at 200 with our assorted 22.’s.. higher power ( Athlon 4.5-27 ) definitely makes it easier 👍

@@BenDover-fc9df bullet drop for eley match tenex is 10 mils in the scope. I’m running a tikka t1x 16” barrel with a 20 moa rail from MDT, a Athlon Ares BTR gen 2 4.5-27x50 mounted on top with the APRS5 ffp IR MIL reticle . I also use a range finder and a ballistic app so yeah I Can hit with boring regularity at 200😁
Is the BMR the same action and barrel as the b14r ?

Why are you sitting on the right side of the bench? You could have much better results with a better bench set up. Move to the left side, set some elbow support and I think you will see an improvement. Wolf looks promising!

What does match chamber mean? Why no stingers?

Thanks for watching! Match chambers are cut to the tightest tolerance for a 22 bullet. Because the stinger has a longer case than a standard 22, you risk jamming the hard case into your rifling. Check out Buffalo Outdoors, he just put out a video on it.

Thanks for watching! The BMR has a match chamber, which is tighter than a standard 22LR chamber. That means the extra long case of the Stinger can potentially damage the chamber.

@user-lh7mu2nu6b There is a segmented version of the stinger that also has the extra long case. It's called Quik Shok I think. There is also a shot shell with the stinger case. Other than that, you should be good.

You looked very awkward sitting on the wrong side of the bench. If you haven't cleaned the bolt and the chamber it help everything work better. The Wolf group was good. I've found that switching from ammo to ammo you should shoot at least 15 rounds.
Thanks for watching! I excell at looking awkward, it's one of my strengths. I've done a few tests with "seasoning" the barrel and honestly don't see much change in accuracy. Only seems to make my wallet sad. 😢
@@TheOldFatDadGoober the easiest way to fix is to put a barrel tuner on it and tune it to the ammunition that it shoots best without the tuner

The rifle isn't my cup of tea. It does seem to shoot well with the ammo it likes, but many 22lr will. I do have a suggestion. I will sit and watch a movie and work the action of a new gun for a couple of hours and it smoothes them out.

" the old fat dad Goober"? Goober may be accurate. You might want to inspect that rifle better and call Bergara because everyone says that the rifles they had were reliable. I'm not sure but some of those you can adjust the magazine. A lot of guys say that the bolt take a lot of force to close on the Bergara and it's not the fastest cycling.

@@smccol3708 CZ makes a pretty slick rifle, the 457. Tikka also has a nice one, I think it's called the T1x.
