    OMG I THINK I JUST DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN 🤭❤️
    thank you for reviewing me, I have also changed things up since like no skin brush everyday, spf 50 with a tint
    and you're so right editing was a little off, splitting up skin, makeup, and hair routines separately
    so at night I wash, tone and then use a mask and seal with my night cream
    I don't shower it off, I shower before skincare lol
    and I also don't use makeup wipes anymore

    Hi, I just wanna point out that airplanes do NOT go above the ozone layer. They go very close beneath it, yes, but you’re still being protected from UV rays when on the plane; just not as much as if you were on the ground protected by clouds. It’s not completely “open” as you say, but still pretty harmful.
    Bottomline is, if you’re going on a plane, no matter the length of the flight or the time of day of the flight, you should always be applying and reapplying sunscreen! 😊

    As a flight attendant I agree you definitely need to adjust your skin care in the air. It is so dry, recycled and just unforgiving on your skin. I amp up my hydration big time on flights even though I have combo to normal skin these days - the older I am the dryer my skin is getting oh what joy.
    I really love snow mushroom with hyaluronic acid serums, vit C with resveratrol serum. I then mix a honey serum with a EA ceramide serum capsule. I then apply eye cream and then a ceramide moisturiser. Before I apply the moisturiser I add just a drop of pure glycerin to boost it up. Then I use my all mineral sunscreen, min spf50 full spectrum, I try to use a long wear, water resistant variety. After a few minutes I then apply a hydrating primer with spf in it. I know layering spf does not increase the spf, my aim is more to try and get a more even layer of protection. Then I apply my make up.
    When I get to my bed for the night I love a sheet mask but as Susan said I use my moisturiser after the sheet mask to seal it all in.
    Lots o layers I know but once you get a routine you can speed through it and the pay off is happier skin happier you. Happy flying all ✈️

      If the windows are closed and you are in side the plane, why do you need spf?

    • @viviankoolen3434
      @viviankoolen3434 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Tiffany Vu because the windows don’t block all the UV rays! They block the UV-B (burning) rays, but not the UV-A (aging) rays. So basically, your skin won’t burn but the UV-A rays still do a lot of damage to your skin, which is why you need to protect it :)

    • @pmoo1971
      @pmoo1971 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It sounds intriguing for consumers. Even though most people don’t know the full deal on why spf is so great and how to properly get all of the benefits, literally everyone knows that spf protects the skin to some degree. By only having spf 20 or less companies can save money on ingredients but still gain in sales.

    The reason it is so important stick to your skincare routine morning and night is because you're not getting the most benefits out of the products if you don't apply twice daily. Certain ingredients such as certain peptides and acids are only effective for 12 hours. If you don't apply am and pm then you're really not giving your skin a fair shot at achieving the results you want. As a licensed esthetician, I recommend that everyone educate themselves properly before giving people false information.

Although I personally don’t have it, I have a family history of psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions, so I’m afraid of triggering it in myself. Plus I rarely wear makeup so I don’t think a double cleanse is really necessary for me.

      that's just not true. spf 15 filters out about 93% of UVB radiation, spf 30 filters out 96% and spf 50 98%. and if we want to know how much of UVA radiation gets filtered out, we need to know the ppd number of the sunscreen.
      window glass blocks about 60% of UVB radiation, and allows almost all UVA radiation through. so that's totally not the same :D

    Great reaction video! One thing about glycolic acid- I asked my esthetician, and she says that the only concern for causing hyperpigmentation in darker tones applies to high concentrations found in peels and products not available directly to consumers. Caroline Hirons also just addressed this in her video with Dija Ayodele. It's super helpful to know this, as I avoided it for a long time because of this concern. :)

    Regarding the comment about being unsure if hydrating cleansers are good for reactive/acne/oily skin:
    I have oily/combination acneic and reactive skin and I use a hydrating cleanser along with an oil cleanser as first step. Using hydrating/gentle cleansers really reduced my acne and oil production, which was aggravated by using stripping cleansers for acne for years. Harsh cleansers marketed to my acneic skin type dehydrated my skin and wore away my natural skin barrier which actually made my acne worse. Hydrating cleansers are the way to go!
    After my oil cleanser (at night only to take off spf) I switch between Krave moisturizing cleanser and CeraVe renewing salicylic acid cleanser depending on whether I need more moisture/gentle treatment, or if I see any congestion. Both cleansers are extremely gentle, even though the CeraVe has salicylic acid. I also let 10% benzoyl peroxide cream cleanser sit for a few minutes as a spot treatment on acne spots while I'm cleansing, but I never apply it all over my face like I used to.
    Also seconding the comment about CeraVe moisturizing cream - it really is amazing on reactive skin! I can't recommend it highly enough for reactive, acneic, sensitive, combination skin. I actually use it both night and morning and used to be totally scared that a thick cream like that would break me out. Instead it helps my skin stay healthy and moisturized and I get less acne. Don't be afraid, try it out!

    Loooove these videos!! but I do want to point out that SPF on flights is as important as SPF is on an everyday basis. The ozone layer doesn't get "thinner" as you rise in altitude. Ozone exists mostly in the stratosphere, and on commercial flights, we are still in the troposphere. So the ozone layer is still above us to protect us from UV rays.

    • @SusanYara
      @SusanYara 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most commercial flights fly in the lower part of the stratosphere. I didn't make that up. ;)

    • @SusanYara
      @SusanYara 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And agreed, SPF is important on regular days too, but from talking to people, they seem to think they don't need an SPF on an airplane since they're "inside" but they do need it and maybe even more.

I've been a flight attendant for a very long time and I also noticed that many of these younger "skincare savvy" flight attendants, I'm looking at you younger millennials lol They have a shitload of skincare and a shitload of skin dilemmas as well, lol. I only have four things in my bag, my Kiehls calendula toner to wash my face in the morning, CERAVE moisturizer, mineral sunscreen spf 45, and a concealer. Oh that Mario Badescu spray fragrant spray, I do use it but as an air freshener in the lavatory, lol Arnesah got an amazing young skin and she don't need all these nonsense skincare on flight.

  • @alyciaexmachina
    @alyciaexmachina 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I never realized I needed SPF on a plane! I fly a few times a year and I usually do skip makeup and just leave a heavily moisturizer face. Since I hate touching my face while in the airport or plane I bring a small spray bottle filled with half rose water and half of a rice and carrot based toner and I’ll spray my face throughout the flight. I find it gives my face some moisture without having to touch my face throughout the flight.

    Last I checked, the Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner only had 2% AHA and I’ve also seen a few comments saying the PH is too high. I think the cleanser has a small amount too plus AHAs are water soluble and very ineffective in a wash off product like that. Because of this, I’m not overly concerned about the AHA in her routine though I think physical exfoliation daily with a brush is too much. I’m more worried about some of the essential oils, sulfates, and other irritants in her routine.
