15mm British Crimean War Army 1854

  • This is a 15 mm representation of a British army during the Crimean war using 15 mm miniature figures. The British Army during the Crimean war was about 27,000 men strong in five divisions and these have been represented here using some older figures in the marketplace manufactured sometime in the 1970s and 80s. I particularly enjoyed putting this army together and hope that it is a accurate depiction of the forces that fought during that conflict.

Absolutely beautiful as always! Never, EVER, tire of seeing your new or old projects and incredibly painted armies! This is indeed a unique and fun war to game.

Just epic. What a great add to the collection. And the fact they are the older MiniFigs!!! Well done on this amazing project. I'll repost this over on the TtC group and tag my friend Tom Dye - the MiniFig guy. He would love what you have done.
    Talk soon, Kevin.

Wonderful work. The amount of effort required to properly research the army organisation and find/purchase the correct figures, let alone the modelling and conversion and painting and re- basing, is astounding. Add in scale creep over the years, manufacturers differing interpretation of what constitutes a 15mm figure ( i.e. to the eyes or to the top of the hat), and that sadly, many of the older well established miniature companies no longer exist, and you have completed a huge task. Bravo!

@@buckospiffle594 thank you very much for your comment. I think you grasp the situation 100%. It is exactly as you wrote both Russian Army and the British Army were real tasks in itself. The Turks will be less so and the French I already finished except for maybe a few units. But they turned out very nicely and I’m happy with how it looks. I appreciate your comments more than you know.

That is very, very nice. I'm a big fan of the "does this look like a period painting of this battle" for an army. Which is why for the whole "black powder" or "horse and musket" period, I do 2mm. But this looks SO, so good.
    Very very good work sir!

@@FelixstoweFoamForge thank you so very much. I was a little bit afraid of what it would look like having older figures that really nobody wants anymore. You can hardly give them away. But I think that the army organized this way looks nice. I finished the Russians now the Brits, and the French, so the only thing left are the Turks. I really did like the black powder air and the turmoil between 1840 and 1900. But thank you for your comments. Makes me feel great.

Fantastic work Kevin. The army looks great. The figures might be older, but they really do look lovely. The good news is that you can basically fight the Eastern wing of the Alma, and with some Franco-Prussian French you have the Western wing covered too. Would look smashing, especially with that teddy bear fur mat that you used for this video.
