  • We camped for nearly a week at Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring, Florida. It's an older park, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1934-1941. The park itself is beautiful, with lots of hiking and biking opportunities, but the campground is tight -- lots of sites and everyone packed in.
All sites have water and electric, with a single dump station. Restrooms -- many of them built by the CCC -- are worn but in good working order. Despite the number of campers in a small area, we found the campground to be quiet.
