I have to say that I'm thrilled that you are getting shoes for testing ... may that continue and grow!!! What is it with the weight with Nike shoes? Maybe it's a longevity thing? Anyway hopefully this fits in well with your shoe rotation as even though you're happy with it you seem to have plenty of daily trainers already?? I'm in full marathon training myself these days so I must admit that shoes that make me happy to eat miles and are kind to the legs NEVER go astray!!!
I am so grateful Bev, I never thought I’d get to this point! I wonder if it’s longevity, they aim for you to get more miles out of their shoes? Who knows but it’s definitely an odd move with the weight
Thanks for your quick video to get thoughts and impressions out on a very hyped shoe. The 35 Turbo was an awesome shoe, I've only got 1 pair with 160 miles on the clock so only brought out on sunny days 😂 I think the Next Nature is a fantastic looking shoe but my fear has been confirmed that this isn't an evolution on the original in terms of performance from a shoe. My personal opinion is that this needed to be Nike's "Endorphin Speed 2". A flashy daily trainer is not what we needed from them. Great content as always 🙌
Great review as always Andy! I will pass by this shoe. In daily training field there are better options in my opinion: Mach 5, Navablast 3, Noosa 14, endorphin speed 3, for example. Geetings from Brazil mate!!
Thanks for the shout out! Mine have just arrived. My UK 13 slightly less at 333g which is very similar to the Alphafly 2 and bit less than the Pegasus 39 which averages 355g. Zoom Fly 5 388g - I wore them other day and could feel that weight. The first Turbo was about 315g (so not much less actually) and Turbo 2 did average about 280g in my 4 pairs. I actually used the Turbos as my goto daily and long run trainer and actually rarely for "speed" so, in that sense, what you say does not seem so bad. I now use the Endorphin Speed versions in the same way. Will do a run later and see. They were a bit hard to get on but certainly suit my narrow feet OK. Those with wider feet may not be so keen but, then again, that is you compared to me and not hearing any issues there.
Did my first run in them today and agree with what you said. Looking forward to your next update as I was thinking they might need a few runs in them to get a bit more responsiveness from them. Lovely shoe though!
Gotta be honest it feels like a stiffer/slappier/clunkier version of the Pegasus 39 to me but for more money lol. So have to disgree there. The sr02 doesn't feel that firm in hand, but must be some combination of the outsole, sr02, ZoomX scraps not being that soft, and maybe a lot of glue. It's not much lighter in a 9 and the ride is not really softer or bouncier. It feels much less smooth to transition. The upper is fine but a bit stiff. Not as comfortable and geared a bit more casual compared to the 39. It's alright, but yeah not great or like the original Turbos. It's not as good as the Pegasus 39, which is a good just classic daily trainer, but not even as impressive as other daily trainers out there either. The midsole setup is just like a worse version of the Velocity Nitro 2 or Mach 5. So many shoes that are easier to reccomend as Turbo replacements like Rebel/Streakfly etc.
Good morning The FOD Runner and all the runners. Thanks for this information about Pegasus turbo next%. Here is my like. I don't knew this model's nike. A nice day for everyone. ☀️🏃♂️☀️
Man I love the Peg turbo 2s, really wish I was able to try the v1s but I really hope that Nike makes a v3 since it seems like the community really likes this shoe. I also got this shoe but will primarily wear this as a casual shoe since I heard Nike's Nature shoes are just heavier and can be iffy on durability per model and shoe
I want a shoe that is inbetween the zoomx invincible and the streakfly BUT also is a little more cushion than the pegasus 39. I use steakfly for my speed days and invincible for my easy runs. but sometimes I want to pick up the pace on my easy days and the invincible feels to 'clunky' for it. this sounds like the shoe i've been looking for!?
The Pegasus Turbo 2 was basically my favourite running shoe ever. I bought a second pair off of Amazon that were dodgy and split at the heel after 150 miles, but my first pair are still sort of ok after 750 miles. So disappointed to hear that this iteration is so much heavier.
Great review as always. I loved the Peg turbo 2 set my 20 mile pb in them. Interesting with the training being heavy and Nike saying they are a tempo shoe. Is it a tempo shoe???? Is it heavier for the purpose of making you work harder in the shoe and hit your splits. Then when you wear the new supershoes you feel a much better benefit, as in softer, lighter and you feel fast. Be nice to have a Nike spokesman going through the range of shoes saying why these shoes are a certain weight, designed this way and what type of run they should be used for. Like when Kelly had a chat with Adidas and whet through the trainers and Seth with Asics etc
Yeah a chat with someone like that would be ace, although it looks similar it’s definitely not a tempo day shoe got me… a great daily trainer but I did struggle to hit any good paces in them A bit confusing really but at least they look good!
Hi Andy and thx for that review i was waiting for just because i was wondering why this shoe was coming out whereas the Streakfly was there ...and you totaly answered it...i didn t have the chance to run in the OG Pergs Turbo and i think i will not try these ones i certainly do prefer buying the streakfly now for speedy sections ...i m waiting for your 100miles feedback and see if they grow on you ...👏👏👏🙏😉🇫🇷
I got this shoe, hated it and immediately returned it. I have the Turbo 2s and I thought these would be similar. Sad. If they release a proper turbo 3 I'll buy it in a click.
Hi, nice review! Based on your review and many others, I would guess this is basically very similar to pegasus 39 when in comes to purpose, just with flyknit and better looking imo (more Lifestyle design), but for more money and that sustainability story behind it. I must admit I am kind of a target audience for this, since currently I am searching for some kind of daily runner shoe, which I'd also wear casually. So my "final choice" is this and Nike Infinity Run 2, what would you recommend?
Yeah it sounds like this one could be for you then… I wear mine casually too! It very much is like a Pegasus in a way… both daily trainer options but one with recycled materials including the recycled zoomx and the other is not 🤷♂️
Zoom fly for me does everything from moderate pace up to intervals so a much bigger range… and despite them being heavier, the plate moves you nicely in the zoom flys
I think the weight is the same as the peg39 an improved peg as it is a daily trainer . Did not hear much about how you enjoyed the foam . Just "not much responsiveness" that could be interpreted as not that much fun the foam? Ordered a pair my size is a bit more weight friendly but it's not gonna be speed 3 light
Yeah definitely, I’m loving the zoom fly, weight aside it’s my go to marathon training shoe right now from moderate paces right up to interval work… just easy pace it doesn’t do particularly well!
I used the Peg Turbo 2 for some tempo, but it was a do it all shoe for me and got mostly long easy-moderate runs. Sounds like this one works well for that?
I think the turbo original was just what runners wanted… light and nimble that could do it all…. I don’t think the vaporfly and alphafly were out when the OG turbo was released… maybe the 4% when the turbo 2 was out but not the original version 🤔
Compared to the Novablast? Seems to me just another shoe for Nike to make some money out of but not catering for the runners, a mean why would you stop a shoe that was such a good seller for runners.
@@TheFODRunner Thanks for the answer. I'm not sure if I should send the shoes back because of this. I have no idea if the 12 grams make a difference on a long run. Can this cause injury? What do you mean?
@@chris4speed I’ve heard of shoes having bigger weight differences like that so it’s not unheard of but it is quite a bit. Not an injury concern, you might just feel like your one leg is heavier than the other!!

Hi Andy, what do you think of the stability? I loved the Peg 2's but they caused me loads of issues with pronation.
These, like most other shoes this year, look and feel a bit wider…. I’d say they’re more stable than the 2s

Can you use your link for US purchase? Dying for this shoe.
Not sure if I’m honest! Try it, get to the checkout and see if there’s an option to change the country to US 🤷♂️ never thought of that before!
Do they feel true to size? For someone with a slightly wide foot should I go half a size up?
They were fine for me true to size and I have wider feet too 💪
Will there be a pagasus turbo 3 or is this what we get?
I gather this is what we are getting for now, I’ve not heard any rumours of a v3 being made….
And isn’t better the Invincible 2 for that purpose?
I haven’t tried the invincible but very possibly 👌
Hi, my PegTurboNN have a weight difference of 12 grams in US 11.5 The right shoe is 296 grams and the left is 284 grams. Is yours the same?
