Powerful Gyro with 160hp ej25 Subaru feels like a Rosco

This is the machine I learned to fly on and my instructor Kev flying it. I'm 90kgs and with the two of us behind the power curve at 25-30 knots I can pitch it up even higher, throttle on, and it still picks up air speed. It's a rocket.

Was part of the original rotorclub in Sydney , Hoxton Park. Moved, married, had to give it up. Had many 'interesting' incidents, the 'best was decending vertically over the quarry there when one swaged rudder cable came undone. Full deflection, lost all speed, put engine VW1900cc into idle rotated the stick to get away from the hole, then did see shed underneath me, away from that, then did see a corner post. Finally over clear area. Maybe 40m high then, so started to find a way to slow down decent. Tried it twice, seemed to work, I was still rotating from small prop blast.. hit the ground with seatbelt undone, grabbed mast as I knew it would be broken. Thought there would be finger marks in it!. Turns out the owner put a cable in it. Glad he did. Thought I would get back to flying them, but no go .

The owner put a cable inside the mast so that it holds together in a prang? Thats forward thinking if i've ever heard it before ;) Would love to have a coffee some time and hear those incident stories
