I much prefer to do the median & ulnar nerve blocks at the level of the mid forearm and radial nerve block just above the elbow crease. I don't see much benefit to doing these blocks as distally as discussed in this video. Am I missing something here? 🤔
I think the only reason to do at wrist should be absence of US machine, once the block could be easily done by anatomic landmarrks, drowning the nerves with local anesthetics.
I would have to agree. Also balancing the hand on the ultrasound for the ulnar block is also unnecessary if you block it mid forearm. Same position as for median nerve block.
