It’s also ironic that Mr. “Make you shine like the lights on a Christmas tree” and Ma$e weren’t so impressed by it. I wouldn’t expect remedial vibrations to catch Kendrick’s simplest rhymes.

All cause he either paid them for samples(Mase), brought them out to a show ( Dipset members, maino ) and gilly because Drake said condolences on the loss of his son. Everyone else was caught in the moment, fat Joe irrelevant, and Maland Ak are simply pathetic.

Kendrick wasn't coming at drakes blackness cause he was half white. He was challenging drakes blackness because he code switches. Kendrick wouldn't have said shit if drake grew up how he grew up, and once he had exposure to the culture, and felt at home in his own skin in it. If this is the home you've been searching for, THEN YOU CRASH OUT FOR IT. THERE IS NO PRIORITIZING, IF YOU AINT ALL IN YOUR ALL OUT. Not that anything is wrong with that. Be true to who you are, and have equal respect for people that don't look like you as much as the ones who do. You can't control who brought you into this world, or how you were raised in it, but you damn sure can control how you live as a man it it. Drake isn't stupid, he knows his audience isn't all hip hop fans. He knows if he crashes out for hip hop culture, which is black culture, because he doesn't identify with any other, he will lose a part of his core audience, so he plays both sides. He's black enough to fit in with hip hop but not to black to turn off fans outside of hip hop. YOUR A DAMN FOOL IF YOU THINK THATS BY ACCIDENT. Drake has to work at presenting himself in an image that's appealing to his fan base. And there is the conundrum. You put yourself in a position to have to prioritize eventually, and noone wants to play second fiddle But once you prioritize 1, your gonna lose the other. Your actions speak for themselves. What does it tell black people when they see you intentionally regulating the amount of black you portray, to keep your white fans interested. With what black folks experience because of the color of their skin, your gonna be all in, "even when it don't benefit your goals", or your all out

My ranking for each song as a diss track is different, but as songs on their own:
    1. Euphoria
    2. Not Like Us
    3. 6:16 In L.A.
    4. Meet The Grahams
    5. Like That
    6. Pushups
    7. Family Matters
    8. The Heart Pt. 6
    9. Taylor Made Freestyle
I don't think anyone but Drake stans are going to really remember his songs from this - they only matter in the context of the beef. The Taylor Made abomination will likely be remembered as one of the worst self-owns in Rap battle history.
The hooks on Pushups & the first section of Family Matters are sort of catchy, but what are the memorable lines? "Drop & give me fifty?" "Drop, drop, drop?" Kendrick dropped & gave you five & that made you toddle away crying, Aubrey. The rest are mostly verses aimed at other rappers & their managers & friends & cousins & aunties & whatnot.
I think Kendrick's songs get better with age & repeat listens. 6:16 is lowkey a mini masterpiece, but Not Like Us is multi-layered genius manifesting as a summer club/BBQ/step show anthem, so ofc it's an instant legend.

Before this beef, I didn't even know who Ak was, but now. Wow, I always say in this beef now. I'm not even mad at DJ Akademics. He is acring just like Sarah Huckabee when she was out there defending Trump from all those allegations. You could see in her face and mannerisms that SHE didn't even believe her own words, but she got a job to do and she got to do it, no matter what. She knows who she's defending is trash, but it's her job.
Same with Ak. He knows Drake is wrong and is losing, but he still committed and I won't be deterred.

Even though it wasn’t about color for Kendrick. Rick Ross called him whiteboy and then everyone confused Kendrick calling him out as using African American culture and portraying a life he never lived, using slang that’s ignorant (that’s what Drake called it) for his benefit, etc and Aub gobblers ran with “Kendrick is a racists” narrative . I don’t believe for 1 second that Kendrick cares about the melanin another person has/lacks. I do believe that Kendrick cares about the heart and authenticity of others.
