That has to be one of the coolest things I’ve seen this week. I’m building a fiberglass jet right now and I might try this for the canopy. That was awesome thanks
This does work if one is as patient and precise as you seem to be, I actually prefer it to vacuum because you have more control over the finer details of the shape - unless your vac is high end. I’d love to see more of the Extra 330SC, it’s one of my favorites
That was some nice work and ingenuity! I’ve vacuum formed a few in my day but that was absolutely fun to watch! AND you didn’t have to dye it for the color you wanted. 👍
Now you got me thinking about model boat hulls . Im into boats in bottles [ its a mental disorder ] and theyre getting bigger , You could form some pretty big hull sections ,paint them ,roll them up and stuff them in the bottle , I like it .
I appreciate the video transition at the beginning when you faded the plane plans, Not to stress you, but I think it would make following up much easier on complex project
Very nice work, congrats. As a suggestion I would have used balsa wood to make the work easier (unless you plan to reuse the plug to make a lot of canopies).
Man when you were using that razor I was having an anxiety attack. In high school art class a girl working next to me was cutting something in a similar fashion when the material she was cutting gave way under the pressure and blade cut her all the way across her other hand. Brought back a horrible vision!
Excellent, well produced video as always. One word of caution: if the plastic is heated beyond a certain point, and it comes into contact with skin, it will bond, and the only way to remove it is to remove the skin! A friend was making RC car bodies using sheet plastic held in a rectangular frame while he heated it. It slipped, and tried to catch it. He spent weeks with his fingers attached to a frame of metal rods screwed to the bones while multiple skin-grafts healed. Hideous experience! :o(
I especially enjoyed the narration.
😂
Very detailed and clear.

you deserve a kolamma award for this work.
Outstanding! I have a scratch-build project that I need a canopy for. You idea solves the problem for me.
Well as they say...every days a learning day. And i just learnt something im going to use on my planes..well done. 👍🏽
When someone is a genius is a genius... And you are a genius!

Once again, Numa illustrates how to properly be a badass. Well done
Nice! This is like reverse vacuum forming. 😁
This really made me smile! Never seen anything like it before!

Genius! That's thinking outside the box! Gave the video a thumbs up and I subscribed also.
Very impressed!if I hadn’t seen it I would have said it couldn’t be done! Thanks
If only I'd known this method 40 years ago . Thanks for a very informative video .
Yeah, same for me!
I thought you were going to use the wood as the canopy itself. Went a lot better than I thought it would. Thanks for the video! Very helpful!
Very patient and skillful, but alotta work! Nicely done

You always make it look so beautiful and yet so easy.
Very cool. I have heard of this process, first time seeing it. Well done.
No Voice No Letter means Universal Manual♪ Smart ! ! !
This is the F amazing! Seems like one of those satisfying videos
Brilliant! Going to make one right now for mine! Great video
The best tutorial this year
I've always wondered if that would work, very cool!
AMAZING! Well done. Thanks
Fantastic work, dude! That's a really great idea! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks for the great video.
I'm going to need canopies for my two ASW 28's.
They use the wrong plastic for them.
Have a great day. have fun stay safe
nice video 👍, try a bandsaw for cutting the template, makes life easier 😉
Amazing! I will not use because i’m not airplane modeler but it works really well!! Congrats mate!
Hombre Eric!!
@@pablodronefishing7607 Yep!!! Soy muy muy fan de los aviones....empecé con ellos de hecho. A ver si este año puedo montar alguno en el canal :D :D
Jajajaja a ver si te montas un acrobático pepino!!🔥
simple, cheap, pretty everything to please
thank you very much
Brilliant. Will use for a completely unrelated project. Props! No pun intended LOL.
Been using this method for years .sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t . Thumbs up 👍
wich kind of plastic would you reccoment for this method?
That’s pretty slick
Excelente demostración. Buen video.

That is amazing!
Самолетостроением не занимаюсь, но за идею огромное спасибо! Просто 5 баллов! +
So simple with such cost effective results. I wonder if a double layer would also work to increase thickness.
Very resourceful!!!!

Gran bel lavoro...complimenti!
Now that was innovation at it’s best.
great video bud
Muito bem.
Parabéns.

Very Cool!
You need to ask your wife for a band saw for Christmas. Nice job. Really neat.
Wow wat a smart idea... amazing wrk dude👌👌👍
Excellent work! Wonder if you had used a clear bottle, would the optical clarity be good? for FPV use...
Nice Work. I will try it !
Awesome!
Oh yeah simply and perfect
Amazing !
SWEET JOB,!!
What type plastic was the donor bottle, PET? THANKS !
Excellent working.
So cool
Waoo amazing work. Also make a tutorial of the Plane you show in pic i think. Extra 300
Exceleente!! Muy bueno
Well that’s pretty neat
That worked very well
Kept putting off building a suction table, BAMM! Thanks
Genius mate
Clever!
Гениально!! Genius!!!
Nice!
EXCELLENT !
Really nice idea
Can't wait for the build video of whatever its for
Unless you are planning on making multiple canopies from that plug you could have used a softer wood, such as balsa and made the carving much easier!!
Nice!!!
Awesome . . . ✌😎
Lots of work! With a 3D printer, you can quickly print a negative, fill it will plaster, and use that for your canopy former.
I wish when I was young scratching around for spare parts I'd thort of this
I wasnt sure you would get that big crease out! It shrinks really well!
I'll bet this would work with control line models too! I have an old Mono Cote heat gun. Think it would get hot enough?
This is genius!!!!
thats cool
Very good men, you can do a canopis factory :-)
Genius!
That’s cool
Очень информативно, спасибо!

Man, you shouldn't worry about me, I'm not a schoolgirl, everything's under control 😎

Super, Thanks
Awesome
big brain move here 👍🏻👍🏻
I wonder if you could use an oven to heat shrink it instead of the gun?
Great, give me a solution for air intakes of my rc boat.... Thanks
Amazing
thank you
Master!!!!!
Красивая пилотажка)
Nice one
Хорошая работа!
Genious :)
great trick............
Вот так всё просто, я голову ломал как делать натяжку. Благодарю за совет!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Didn't know the plastic would still shrink after being formed into a bottle. Wonder if PLA would hold up as a mold.
