Honestly the subject is never 100% because there is judgement involved. Fair Use itself isn't black and white ...

What are your thoughts regarding using lyrics or part of a book (such as a novel) in your book? I have had clients that have tried to use both, but I've had to explain to them that these are still under copyright. In most cases, clients are using recent songs/books. Is there a limit to how much you can use of a publication? Love your videos. I often recommend them to people. :)

Hi ma'am. I have translated one of HarperCollins books called "The Hero Within" by Dr. Carol Pearson, into another language. Trying to contact with HarperCollins management for permission but no reply from their side. How do we solve this problem
I have no idea but you can't do anything with it until you have their permission. I think you have to keep trying.

What if you are in actually possession of the media? I have some architectural slides that are about 90 years old. (bought them off "some guy on the internet"). Or say an old postcard (maybe 75 years old) with newsy pic on it?
