In this video I react to distant bells by leprous.
Hi, I'm Dean Wolfe, a classic prog-rock guitar teacher on TH-cam. I grew up on 70s progressive music but abandoned the genre by the 90s because it was too 'hard-edged' for me. My all-originals prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i went into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk and acoustic fingerstyle guitar).
2020 was the year of my return to prog and the discovery of 30 years of great music which I'd paid no attention to- until now!
I also will react to 70s and 80s prog that i overlooked, like gentle giant, camel, etc.

Thanks Dean! I loooove this song. I’ve said it before; This band is special! New album comming up later this year, and I can’t wait🥳 Oh and btw; The wonderful cello you can hear on their two latest albums is masterfully played by Raphael Weinroth-Browne, who happens to be canadian. He has been touring with the band since Malina was released. He holds a special place in the hearts of many Leprous fans for being such a nice guy, and awesome musician. He gives the band another depth/dimension for sure.
    Loved this, Dean🙏🏻

Thanks for requesting this, René! Leprous is amazing, and this is a great song that sometimes gets overlooked.
Also, it's super cool that you got to spend time with some of the guys, and get a pair of Baard's sticks (which are in better shape than I would have expected, given how sticks fare in his hands!)

Sweet. I'm glad we have some other people requesting (probably) my favorite band (tied with The Dear Hunter). Thanks Rene! That's so cool that you got to spend time with the band members. They definitely seem like such cool guys during interviews and concert interactions.
When I first heard this song, I was disappointed in the first parts of the song because I wanted more bombastic Leprous sounds. There were many who were shocked by how different the Pitfalls album was. After a couple listens though, I appreciated the gentle intricate beauties of the first half of the song. The cello solo in the middle is almost tear jerking. Raphael really is a soulful cellist. His solo stuff is deep and entrancing.
