I feel like it was glossed over the whole time that it was on their couch. If I knew my friend went to town for a whole week on my couch that I sometimes eat dinner on and sit on daily I would likely have to change it out to feel clean.

Very few of them have a battery AND plug into the wall, and all of them call themselves “wireless” because they use WiFi. You’ve got a 90% chance if it was unplugged but had a plug attached, it was totally off.
I work in tech and am familiar with a ton of these cameras. Most of the ones with batteries don’t even charge with a normal wire, the battery pops out to charge - and those are rarely the cheap no-name ones.
Lastly she said she threw it out the window, but I have to assume she meant it was unplugged before she threw it out the window.
