- This is a quick review of the Ikea Sofa bed which we have been using for about 6 months.
Pros:
-Multi functional
-Easy mechanism
-Affordable
-Space saver
Cons:
-Non washable fabric
-Firm seat (but works well for sleeping)

I bought a large white trunk to store my infant niece’s stuff in th-cam.com/users/postUgkxNuLbiXpLQ-mKH5NlyjrNe88hiCk2N3Cg , as she comes to my house frequently. For now, it’s toys on one side and diapers, wipes, and other baby care items on the other. As she gets older, it will be all toys. I had originally wanted a trunk with a hinged lid, but I was afraid of her smashing or pinching her fingers in it. This will be a much safer option. The lid has great padding in it and it is actually nice to sit on. It feels very sturdy and secure. Looks like it can be wiped clean easily. If it gets abused by her, I won’t be terribly upset because I paid less than $50 for it on Prime Day.

I like this sofa
I had the exact same unit in my flat in 2018. It was large and my son liked sleeping on it at times. Myself i felt i could not sit on it for long periods. Not enough support and you can feel the hard wood under you. I am 6'3 and 100kg so might be fine for someone petite .

I have two questions.
1.Is the L( the on
e inside which there is storage...I mean that section of the sofa ) seperate or does it come attached with the rest of the sofa?
2.Youve mentioned in the comments somewhere that you'd not recommend this sofa as a long term sleeping option.
Why ?
Hi, so the storage is under the long part and comes separately but is attached to the sofa during assembly. So it’s not easily detachable, it’s screws etc need to be opened up.
Yes I mentioned recently after using it for about a year and a half now that it isn’t much comfortable to use on a daily basis as the back hurts a bit.It’s a better option for a guest bedroom or study.

Can someone pls advise if the two parts ( that form the L ) are actually separate??? Why can't IKEA put that fundamental piece of info on their spec sheet?? I gave a height limit of 190-195 max and want to know if these Friheten sofa bed will even fit in the living room
Some users of this sofa said it is not a good choice to sleep on it regularly and they recommend that sleep on it couple in week or just for guests. But I saw that they don't use that cover you showed in 3:18 so if I use that can I use the sofa bed regularly? Because I am planning to put it in my office room and sleep there after work so I will use it everyday. What is your recommendation?
Hello, the mattress protector mentioned is actually to protect the sofa if it’s going to be used regularly for sleeping. It won’t provide any additional softness. Personally I don’t use the sofa regularly to sleep as it is a bit firm for me. But guests who have used it for a day or two have found it comfortable. The thicker mattress pads available at Ikea can make it more comfortable to sleep on.

Just use a Queen mattress size bed sheet works fine.

Hello,what about the cover?will that last long,i have seen somewhere that sofa cover is peeling off after 6 months.
Hi, we have been using it for a year and a half now. There is no peeling of the fabric. That’s my personal experience so far.
It is not good for frequent abrasion.. it balls up.. it is a cheaper option if one wants a sofa cum bed for some sudden guests.. but for a regular use choose another one with better covers preferably washable

We have recently shifted to a new home and were looking for this same sofa-bed in blue color. I was sceptical about IKEA because it is still a new brand for India. Will definitely consider it.

Regarding the installation, we took help from Ikea but with an additional cost of Dhs.100(excluding the delivery charges which was another Dhs100) It was a big product and we couldn’t manage on our own. Hey hi, it's not as comfortable as the normal beds. It's a great option as an additional bed in the study/living room for occasional use.

Hello, yes I still do like my couch however, I would not like to sleep on it everyday. I have noticed that for regular sleeping you would definitely require a thick padding below as the frame starts hurting your back overtime.

@@nehamohta1962 Such embedded sofas are always done in ply only with elastic band and recron. U get a choice to choose the fabric & quality of hardware. However if u want solid wood like Saag or Shesham, it will have external pillows & ply-framed-seat with cushion.
Price depends on what quality you want and your size. The cheapest bazaar for furniture is Timber Market Rd (towards Laxmi Rd). U can customize.
@@nehamohta1962 Do not opt for mdf for sofas as it will eventually bend. No matter how cheap they quote. And in ready-made u cannot trust what they have used inside. You can also find good deals for furniture in Kharadi.

Ex gf had this couch and I hated it. While it was okay to sit on the pull out ottoman frequently would come unhooked from the couch while laying on it and her daughter frequently fell down between the cushions.

Hello..we bought the sofa in October 2019. From my personal experience it is in a very good condition till today (no frame breakage or fabric color change) Also the seat is in the same condition, no shape change. The pillows have flattened up a little but it doesn't bother us much. So I can say for myself that it's lasted a year in a good condition and I see myself using it for at least 2-3 years more. Hi, it depends on the stain. If it is a mild one you can use some soap water to clean it. But for a strong stain, deep cleaning is recommended as it is done by professionals.
