Another impressive haul Monkeyboy! I do remember the "Little Mr" books episode, and both those and the "Little Miss" books are new to me, because you have introduced them to me as I always enjoy seeing things unknown to me previously in life (interesting that US version being renamed "Ditzy")! Any who this has been a joy as always and as you make like a Shepherd, hopefully the sheep are not all Whiplashes and Beast-Men like with poor Skeletor👍🐒
Thanks Alex! Yeah the Mr Men and Little Miss books were hugely popular here in the UK, and there are so many of them! They give me great nostalgic memories. I know this video won't perform very well but I do enjoy sharing the things I collect even if they aren't for everybody. I think it's important for me to be genuine about the things that interest me. I might even do a video about My Little Ponies one day... Thank you for watching sir, I appreciate the support you show for all my videos, and Skeletor is grateful for your interest as well. Have a tremendous week! 👍🐵
@@MonkeyboysToys You are welcome good sir, and I agree with your philosophy here. I might make the suggestion that when and if you do a My Little Pony episode, you may want to have Whiplash help you on that one because my secret source indicated that Whiplash had an impressive amount of those toys as a child (which were lost in a fire that destroyed his childhood home, which my source further implies that Skeletor was also responsible for🤔).
Hi Raucus Parrot! Interesting items in the video this week! I have vague memories of these characters. Think I have seen figures of it. I didn’t have the 'little' series books back in the 80’ies but that style of illustration drawing sur reminds me at that time. I find it ‘analog’ looking. Cool to see that you have a nice series of these. Indeed, that kings moustache has a 'particular' shape.. it looks like two 'easter eggs'. Thanks for another video. Have an awesome week little mister Monkey!
Thanks Seth! Yes these little books bring great nostalgic memories. I know most of my subscribers won't be interested in them but I've been wanting to make this video for a while and I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for all the things I collect even if some of them are for young children. Thanks for watching dude! 👍🐵
They seem like fun books. I don't recall them from my youth. No guest appearances to start the video? We have white and brown eggs but white is more prevalent. Have a great week.
Just the monkey cushion this week 😅 I know these books won't interest very many people but I do like to share the things that I collect and I've been wanting to make this video for a while. I have a strong emotional connection to things from my childhood and these little books really bring back fond memories of childhood. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Back to toys next week! 👍🐵
At least you hit the camera at the beginning of the video and not the end 😂 Well that last book you showed will be haunting my dreams..... If you can find them, Mr Tickle and the dragon is a particularly good piece of literature and Mr Funny and the genle is a modern day classic.
I shall keep my eyes open for them. I do think that Mr Tickle is one of the greatest literary characters of our time. Thanks for watching sir, I know these books won't interest everyone and I expect the video to perform rather poorly but I like showing things that interest me and are perhaps slightly more unusual for a 46 year-old manchild to collect. Have a tremendous week my man👍🐵
@@MonkeyboysToysYou should only make the videos you want to make. TH-cam can drive you crazy trying to work out what other people want. Keep up the great work sir 😊👍
@@Retrotoyguysi indeed. I want to feature things that I'm enthusiastic about and hopefully others will find some interest in the things I enjoy or collect. Back to toys next week though! 👍🐵
While I’m familiar with the Mr Men books, I have zero recollection of there ever being a series of Little Miss books, so thanks for showing them. I was secretly hoping that the blooper at the end was going to reveal how you damaged your thumb 😂
Thanks for watching sir. I know this video won't perform particularly well but it was nevertheless something I wanted to share. Thumb injury was self-inflicted but it would've been ironic to get a deep paper cut from one of these innocent little books. Little Miss Flick-knife maybe or Little Miss razor blade. I think I've just identified a gap in the market...
Nice video Monkeyboy. Both of my daughter's loved these little miss books (both born mid 90s). You can't have the Mr Men without the little Miss books!!
Thanks for watching dude! I know this video won't be for everybody but sometimes you just gotta do what makes you happy I guess! I'm pleased to have both sets and they do bring fond memories which is what it's all about for me. Have a tremendous week sir! 👍🐵
I always found the humanoid characters disturbing in these, because of the implications. What ARE the Mr. Men, if they’re just colourful shapes with arms and legs, but there are also regular people?!
Yeah I suppose it is a bit weird. Like everything in the 70s and 80s I'm sure drugs must've been involved at some point in the creation of these characters😅
Thanks for watching Luke! I really appreciate the support. I know this video won't be for everybody but I still wanted to document these fun little memories of simpler times! Have a great week dude! 👍🐵
They sure are. I love the simplicity of the characters. I think after the next 5 tattoos that I have decided on, I might get a whole gang of Mr Men after that. Only the coolest ones like mr bump, Mr Tickle, Mr jelly and several others. I will see how I feel after the five I already have decided upon.
@@MonkeyboysToys That way madness lies. There’s also the “big head” variants... and the “double-telescoping” books! Not to mention all the misprints. You don’t want to know what they printed instead of “Little Miss Contrary”! ;P
Although these are the female equivalent of the Mr Men, I don't believe the "Mrs Women" would have had quite the same ring to it. "Little Miss", suggests that none of them are married, though, which is curious. In Game today, I noticed they are selling Origins Castle Grayskull for £40. Quite a bargain! It sort of made me wish I didn't have it, though, just so I could better experience the bargain. I hope you're okay, Monkeyboy. Have a good week. 👍
Yes, I have seen the reduced prices of the playsets and have been rather disappointed that I paid full retail price for them. I get the fear of missing out and pre-order these things early. Same with all the figures. I never learn. I daresay I will do the same with the new 3 3/4 Ghostbusters figures and Ecto-1. My luck is such that if I don't pre-order them they will sell out everywhere before I can grab them. I wish somebody would just shoot me so that I can be free of this constant need to collect like such an addict!
Yeah, it's weird how it works out sometimes isn't it. MOTU is particularly strange in terms of bargain finds and high prices, I think. I've held fire on certain figures and found some excellent deals later on. Other times I've bought early, only to see them going for peanuts the following year! Oh well, you live you learn. Except I never seem to! 😂 Take care, mate.
