The coach was played by the late great Jerry Reed. He was a country singer, songwriter, actor. The guy in the blue shirt was Henry Winkler, who played Fonzi in the series Happy Days.
Even French people can’t understand Cajun! Lol there’s videos of them trying, my gf’s mom is Cajun, speaks the language, taught my gf a little, but sadly it’s dying out.
The boat you see 22 mins in, those are called fan boats (or airboats, swamp boats) and they are really good at navigating swamps because they can ride on top of swamp land that is covered with vegetation or shallow water. And yes, they can for short times go across land or roads, I have see it many times.
Fan boats are very popular in marshy areas like Florida, and Louisiana. The water is full of grass and weeds that would get tangled in a regular propeller. The boat has a flat bottom and the fan is above the waterline, allowing the boat to cut through tall grass👍🏼
Great reaction! I would love for you to react to "50 First Dates" with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore! ❤ I know you would love it! Rom-Com at its best! Several of the same actors work with Adam Sandler on several of his movies so you may recognize a few! 😊 Take care beautiful! 💕
This is the movie that taught us all that, "Little girls are the devil" :). Vicky is definitely a ride-or-die kind of woman. She is the standard guys. Almost no one can understand the coach Dasha; that's the joke :).
Cajuns are a unique group of people in Louisiana. Louisiana was a French colony before it became part of America, and the Cajun people have their own language that is a mix of French, Native American, English, and African languages (from slaves) that is only spoken in Louisiana (though most of them speak English, and the locals call their language French, even though it is unique from French) That said, there is enough overlap in languages that some people who are not Cajun speakers can somehow follow along, while most people can not, so we make a lot of jokes about this, including Farmer Fred's character.
Some movies that you might like that are set in Louisiana culture (but they speak in English so you can understand them) are Steel Magnolias (which every woman I know loves), Disney's "The Princess and the Frog", Interview With a Vampire, The Pelican Brief (lawyer movie),
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Dasha. I'm kinda with you on football, I get the basics idea but the strategies and etc. I'm lost. Basic idea is one team is trying to move the ball down the field into the "end zone" they can do this by running or passing. They have 4 attempts "downs" to move up total of 10 yards. If they gain 10 yards the downs are reset. After 4 downs if they haven't moved the necessary yards their options are to "Punt": kick the ball to the other team and effectively end their turn. They can try for a field goal by having the kicker attempt to kick the ball so that it goes between the two goal posts at the end zone, if they succeed it's 3 points otherwise the opposing team takes over from where they left off. Or they can run another play but failing to gain the necessary yards means the opposing team takes over from that spot. If the team reaches the end zone that's a touchdown they score 6 points and the chance to earn a bonus point by essentially kicking a field goal from the 30 yard line. (I think 30) or they can gamble and try for 2 bonus points by running a run or pass play from there. The defending team meaning is trying to stop them from moving up the field and push them back. They can even score when the offensive team gets backed up all the way to the other end zone: this is called a "safety" and worth 2 points. Canadian football (the CFL) is a little different I won't bother to explain that.
That was very sweet with your reaction to the ending where he had the message "will you marry me bitch!!!"... being so touched you liked you were ready to cry!!! That's very touching ..I too am that way when it comes to love, those sweet things in life and being happy.. it's so missed in lots of things in this world..
The assistant coach being impossible to understand is a joke about Cajuns in Louisiana. My family has a strong Cajun background and even my family with the worse accents were never that bad. Cajun language and accents derive from french so it can be difficult for some to understand.
Robert Stack: Where Is Joe Cooper? Reamer: "For All I Care He Can Be Hanging From F'cking His Neck, Dead In His Closet" Stack: "Scenario A, He's Hanging from his f'cking neck ..." Teacher: "If You Wanna Find Joe Cooper, Look Wherever You Can Find The Most Disgusting, Dispicable, Abuse And Mistreatment Of Children" Stack: "Scenario B, Coop Went To Disneyland"
From your eves I take it you’ve never seen an Airboat before. They’re used in swampy areas because a regular powerboat’s motor would hit tree stumps and get tangled in too much moss. They’re a blast to ride but very noisy.
I remember they were popularized in the late 60s because they were used a lot in the TV series "Gentle Ben" which even had a black bear riding an airboat through the Everglades in the opening credits. Like to see Dasha's reaction to THAT.
"Looks like very intense training". Lol wait until you see Rugby. "Invictus" is a good movie by Clint Eastwood with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon starring. Rugby is international and far more brutal. It has political implications on a global scale.
The first reaction video I saw with Dasha, I heard my Momma's voice: "THAT GIRL IS THE 😈!" Then she started using all these _horrid_ thumbnails. 😱 I should've listened to my Momma...😥💦
Dasha is getting about 10% of her subscribers to watch. Given that she doesn't aggressively promote the channel with other social media, that actually seems about right. She seems to be following to the demands of her core viewer base and paying Patreon members, but doesn't seem to be attracting a lot of new viewers. However, looking at numerous other reaction channels, it appears to be hard for most of them to break into the double digit thousands of views unless they watch movies made within the last couple of decades (i.e. movies the audience watched growing up), very iconic movies that have a major cult following, or recent (within the last few years) that people are curious about or have seen recently and are therefore still enthused about. I do enjoy seeing Dasha react to older films, but I can't help wondering how the channel would do reacting to movies that are currently getting major hype - that or Hindi movies 'cause those seems to have a major audience (I'm only being half facetious).
I went to the theater to see thus with friends. It was crowded so we had to split up into pairs. After the film, which no one would admit to recommending, we learned, we all wanted to walk out, but thought the others were enjoying the film. Igh.
I had such a crush on Fairuza Balk after this movie. In honor of Halloween coming. Please watch The Craft.
SAME !
Island of Dr Morero too
I would even go further back. When I was a kid I had a crush on her, and loved the Halloween movie she was in. The Worst Witch
The Craft is a wonderful film, I always wished they had done a sequel but it’s probably for the best we never got one.

Ayyyyyy 👉👉
Jerry Reed also played Snowman in Smoky and the Bandit.
"He fakes about faking, he pretends to fake" is always one of my favorites
I watched this movie with a buddy of mine who's cajun. He understood everything Farmer Fran was saying. "he sounds just like my uncle."
Like Me being from Texas and understanding Boomhauer completely lol!😆
I was going to comment that there really are folks that talk exactly like that in South Louisiana
@@floydhill9265I say it’s not real Cajun food if you can understand the guy serving it.
"There's Something Wrong With His Medulla Oblongata"
** Tackles **
19:46 Proof you are the sweetest Dasha. You didn't say the donkey, you called him Steve 😊
"Mama Dasha" from the thumbnail 😂
Here to declare THIS is the most Russian looking Dasha.😅
That guy you can't understand is mimicking a cajun accent from Louisiana which has a lot of French mixed into it.
Even French people can’t understand Cajun! Lol there’s videos of them trying, my gf’s mom is Cajun, speaks the language, taught my gf a little, but sadly it’s dying out.
This is one of those movies that I can watch over and over and still laugh and enjoy it.
“That guys still a virgin!”
Gets me every time
@20:27 giving us all hope! lol

Claw-growl at 24:35 is priceless.
And don't worry, even French-speakers have a hard time understanding Cajun.
The coach who fires Bobby at the start is played by Jerry Reed, a legendary country musician who also stars in Smokey & The Bandit.
YOU CAN DO IT
This is the movie that taught us all that, "Little girls are the devil" :). Vicky is definitely a ride-or-die kind of woman. She is the standard guys. Almost no one can understand the coach Dasha; that's the joke :).
One of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. Dasha’s reactions adds to the enjoyment.❤
Well done. Very good reaction young lady.
What mamma don’t know… won’t hurt her…
After seeing this movie for the first time I became such a fan I also got a tattoo of Roy Orbison in the same spot coach did
Couple of Adam Sandler's more serious roles:
"Spanglish"
"Reign Over Me"
I remember "Reign Over Me" getting so-so reviews, but I thought it was very good. I'd love to see someone react to it.
Nice one! I always love to see you laugh.
Keep up the great work Dasha!
please watch the Neverending Story (1984) or Labyrinth (1986) at some point. they are both beautiful & profound, i think you would really like them
Lot's of TH-cam reactors have reacted to those, and lots of viewers grew up watching those. They're a popular choice with a lot of nostalgia value.
This is the only thing I'll say so listen close: GAAAAAATORADE!!!
11:01 "we live to fight another day"

My momma told me this dis one hell of a movie... Or da devil.
Just like Dasha... Da Devil
LUCAS (1986) Seriously you'll love the movie. Seriously....😉
I keep seeing requests for "Lucas" in the comments of many reaction channels. I wish someone would react to it.

Cajun =Kayjun pronunciation (long a)
I was just happy to see a movie reaction not about the usual horror movies everyone reacts to in October.
This is my favorite Adam Sandler movie. So many quotable lines.
Good reaction Dasha! A feel-good movie. 👍👸❤
Dasha your thumbnail pictures are freaking me out 😂😂😂
The main character's girlfriend was played by Fairuza Balk, who starred in one of my favorite movies, called "Return to Oz", when she was little.
Since Dasha has watched to "The Wizard of Oz," it might be interesting to see her reaction to "Return to Oz."
That was very sweet with your reaction to the ending where he had the message "will you marry me bitch!!!"... being so touched you liked you were ready to cry!!! if you combined waterboy's mamma with kathy bates' character from misery, that would be a terrifyingly unpleasant individual.
Such an adorable little Russian accent 😊
I keep forgetting that Cajuns aren't well known go people outside the U.S. 🤔 I'm glad she had fun tho
Girls they the Devil! Love that line
Kathy Bates 2 best roles are Misery and Waterboy. Hands down
Thanks, 👍.
Never watched this one before, but a dasha reaction is a dasha reaction 😊
Thumbnail Dasha 🍒
If you want an excellent sports comedy film that makes fun of the cliches, look at the 1998 film BASEketball.
Robert Stack: Where Is Joe Cooper?

👍
That thumbnail you put together looks like an exact replica of Kathy Bates and Adam Sandler combined 🤣
Fooseball ain't for the devil ... it's for my Bobby

This woman definately my mom
So the squirrel got shocked and became dessert? I would create a mince fried sausage with maple syrup. And a loaded potato 🥔
Don't worry Dasha, I never understood what the overall wearing guy was saying myself and I'm Cajun.
"Looks like very intense training". Lol wait until you see Rugby. "Invictus" is a good movie by Clint Eastwood with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon starring. Rugby is international and far more brutal. It has political implications on a global scale.
Love your reaction
Totally off topic but Dasha has very cute chipmunk cheeks
Glad I'm not the only one who though that.
Great movie😃
If you're interisted in cajun culture, you should watch the popular show on history channel "swamp people"
Atta girl, Dasha. You can do it!
Dasha, that thumbnail is going to haunt my dreams 😅 What have you done?!
Love this movie
Great movie. Please watch Fried Green Tomatoes starring Kathy Bates.
Vicki is ride or die for her man.
Your thumbnails are so disturbing 🥴Great reaction as always
your so cute. one of the best youtubers
Next Adam Sandler film should be The Longest Yard. But if you want to check out his serious stuff, then try Uncut Gems or Punch-Drunk Love
Here to declare THIS thumbnal is the most Russian looking Dasha.😅
That thumbnail again...
Kathy Bates is my favorite actress of all time, and Dasha is one of my favorite reactors! This thumbnail is surreal to me!😆
Awesome 💯
Hilarious classic 😂
Hello there how are you
The first reaction video I saw with Dasha,

Then she started using all these _horrid_ thumbnails. 😱
I should've listened to my Momma...😥💦
Your thumbnails are pretty disturbing
Don't stop 😂
Nobody knows what he is saying.
Dasha, Cajun food is some of the best on the planet if you get a chance to try it. Just don't ask too many questions about what your eating
I remember in the 80s, Cajun food was trending. I loved the complex mix of flavors.
thanks for reaction
youre adorable
Who is in charge of your thumbnails and why do they hate you?
