Additional benefits:
1.Parking space of one vehicle can be saved and Charging cost and Maintenance of EV can also be avoided.
2. Loan edukkunavark 8 Lakhinte interest save cheyyam ( Almost 2 Lakhs can be saved if interest rate is 9% and loan tenure 6 years)(interest will increase if cibil score is less)
Drawback:
1. Two people cannot go to two different places at same time in own vehicle (one person can take cab for city commute so this is negligible)

Happy owner of MG astor manual top end for 2.5 years now...Perfect car for both city and long drives...really underrated . Happily driving with a ton of features . Mileage also clocking around 12-13 in city and 15-16 in highway. And as vivekji said superb interiors.

The hyrider mileage is 12.5-13, they claim 21. Even on highway its 16, so Hector, without such claims give the mileage. It seems good

Definitely makes sense. A big con I found in MG comet was lack of fast charging, but it makes perfect sense as a second car. For somebody who commutes more than 50km a day, or drives around a metro city daily like B'lore or chennai, the comet would be great. And they can travel to their distant hometown for the weekend in the Astor.

The price point you mentioned has a lot of significance due to thought transition between NA, turbo petrol hybrid and EVs. You look hmore andsome with white Hollister tshirt. This is a "came out of nowhere" kind of a content about these two cars.. I remember everytime Jeremy Clarkson would come up with a video saying they need to cater to average customers in the market, they end up doing just not that...
For a middle class that is actually looking for an appropriate car that ticks all boxes, this is such an unchartered territory you have introduced us to..

Well comet doesnt cut the bill bro, maybe if ur city use is more or town to town distance use is more then fine. Again petrol astor u will end up paying 10 times that of electric comet. If you have long distance to travel like above 2000 plus every month then get zs ev. Plus a small petrol car i10 or maruti for city use. So petrol use is minimum. I am using nexon ev for long and wife amaze for city use. Makes sense as city use is less then 800km. Electric is 2500km long drives. Budget 27lakhs. But if u have more city use and very less long drive then vivek is right.
The main risk with MG is that the Chinese, they will not own responsibility of the brand in India.. It's always an Indian partner who is ultimately responsible for providing long term service to the Indian customer.
Chinese principal might disappear overnight in case of any sign of bilateral conflict.
So this can happen with any company.like maruthi ,hyundai ,honda etc etc. and if you go for tata,then the service team will get vanished..vola😂

Hey vivekji…the main reason why people don’t consider these cars is because of the brand and its Chineese factor..moreover, for that 9.9 lakh exshowroom for the base variant, you miss a lot of features and the overall vehicle appearance will look a bit dull for sure..whereas with the mid to top spec trim of the so called compact suvs, you get a more premium feel overall and a lot more features I guess😊
With JSW investing, it’s partly Indian now.

@@athuldominic yehhh... see i own a 2009 i10 sport 1.2 kappa which people says poor mileage.. but i am getting 19 plus sometimes on high way that to in three digit speeds ... sedated driving ....sudden acceleration...will bring down mileage.... and to tell the truth most people comment what they heard... they actually dont own or never driven these cars ...

Vivekji, please suggest a used car for someone who's looking to buy his first car. A reliable car that won't be used too much - 500KM per month on average. Not too small like an Alto. Budget under 5 lakh. Going lower would be better though 😅. If you can please provide some suggestions

I own Ertiga and Comet. Trust me, both cars, does the job done well. Comet is our daily driver, and Ertiga is for highways and road trips.

I own a Tiago EV and hence wanted an ICE based vehicle for long trips. Bought a second hand Innova considering comfort and since it's a 7 seater. My hybrid garage setup is complete now ig😂. And yes total budget is 19L (13L for Tiago EV, 6L for Innova). Now thinking as to whether I should downgrade to a mid range EV.
