That 'What the hell did I get myself into?!' feeling I can somewhat relate to. I had that on ayahuasca at one point, in a much more severe way though, since there was no choice, no option for me to escape, to quit. It felt like I had just made the greatest and absolutely most fatal mistake of my life and beyond. In retrospect I see how that's the controlling mind fearing for its survival. The expectations I had of the experience were part of the limited mind and the experience itself was beyond. When you take ayahuasca, then by nature you don't know what you're getting yourself into. That's the whole point. It's good. And in following experiences with the brew, it kept messing with my expectations. This indicates what appoach to take in life; how fear can prevent stuff from happening, including the fear of nothing happening.

"if you want to suffer, the perfect question to ask is why?"

A profound thing I have uncovered is to connect the mind to the body at all times or in those restless times and really experience what the body is feeling as most of the times we are in caught up in our thoughts rather than connecting the thoughts to the body. Once the connection is made then we can understand our experiences in a better way. There is no past, no future, only now.

I wonder if the Zen master he's talking about is Richard Rose.
