I'm glad Sydney got over being camera shy. He's about as good at explaining things as Kevin. I enjoy seeing the whole family working together, a lot of them don't seem to be able to do that. Another good video, thank you.
I’ll have to say Kevin has to best personality. Always in a pleasant mood. Always informative with a smile. Did you teach him that or was he born that way?
Love to see all the boys in the shop with Kevin! Kevin shares a lot of his knowledge too, with the viewers. Makes me laugh a little when Rhonda asks them what they're doing in the shop, i don't think she's mechanically inclined. But i think she's the glue in this family farm.
I've been living in the Philippines for 13+ years! Things I miss from home in Missouri is my grandmothers famous raisin pie, she's gone now and so is the ease of finding raisen pie. Fruit pies with a crmb crust stirs my heart! Great old fashioned oatmeal are hard to beat for a night time snack with cold milk! First time I'm commenting but I enjoy your channel keep showing the world your story, thank you!
I love raisin pie! My granny used to make it. It was delicious. Your Right about finding it, once in awhile a restaurant will have it but not too often.
*My favorite type of brownie are the Rich N Gooey ones.* I really like big thin chocolate chip cookies too. Individual pecan pies are great but with Halloween coming up. You can't go wrong with a fresh home made pumpkin pie. *Hope you had a great Birthday.*
When I was in the fabrication trade I found that drilling a pilot hole 1/8-3/16 whenever possible made drilling with the larger bits much easier and I was able to drill more holes before having to sharpen the drill because it doesn’t get as hot while drilling.
Good morning Acres of Clay family, hopefully you got a nice rain yesterday, we're still waiting for some. Wednesday I was trying a new variation of my bread recipe. I took my regular recipe, deleted the salt and added 2 tbsp of powdered onion soup mix. I made this specifically for grilled roast beef sandwiches, but it works for others as well. The last time I went to a bake sale I was after cookies (that way I could snitch a few on the way home). Blessings for a healthy, and safe week for the family and farm.
I always make something with apple from a warm oven. It's a Dutch bread/cake thing. Some cinnamon is involved... Classic, simple, everybody recognizes it, everybody smells it from miles away.
Brownie's are always better when their a little gooey, in my book. My wife makes a delicious Upside Down Pecan Apple Pie, which is awesome, we all love it, also a Hungarian Coffee Cake, aka Monkey Bread, both can be found on TH-cam or on Google. Your calves are so adorable. It's nice that all your family are so versatile at repairing and making things, makes for a good self sustained individual. Thanks for the enjoyable video, I hope y'all have a great Sunday and week ahead.
Awesome video Ronda, lots going on. I feel for Sanders I had a Yamaha Blaster and I must've blown that thing up four times before I traded it for a banshee and then promptly blew that one up lol... In my older years you know... now that I'm in my mid-30s and such an old man we have a Polaris 570 that we take up north and what not lol. I approve of Kevin's drillbit sharpening method, I have a drill doctor and no matter how much I monkey with that thing all I can do with it is turn drillbits into punches haha... I hate that thing but the problem is definitely me..
Those sunrises and sunsets made me feel a bit better, I have a bad mancold, might even be worse than that, but it looked so nice and thanks for bringing us along! I love when they are a bit goey in the middle, put some whipped cream with a small touch of vanilla flavor together with it and I am going straight to taste-heavens! And when I check out a bake sale from somebody, its always the bread that gets me, every single time, freshly homebaked bread with some nice cheese in the morning or evening with cold milk, there is just nothing to beat that🤩
Rhonda, this was one of my favorite videos of yours !!! Such a wonderful variety of life on a working farm !! I loved it !!! Kevin and your son's stay very busy and work hard ! Your son's voices sound exactly like Kevin's, I think !!! I enjoyed you showing the cows faces close up. Seems they all wanted to be in the " movies" ! Lol... I enjoyed your time in the kitchen !! I am amazed at all you do on the farm !!!!! And what I would buy at a bake sale, anything chocolate especially brownies and fudge candy , angel food cake, chocolate eclair cake, strawberry shortcake and if it was available my favorite dessert, banana pudding !!! My mouth watered when you showed the brownies. You all be careful and God bless !!! Eddy
I was in the Mechanical Maintenance Dept at Nuclear Power Stations for quite a few years after being in the Operating Dept. Yes, we had to know how to sharpen drill bits. It is not that hard, once you learn how to do it. Always have a container of water nearby to cool the tip as you sharpen. Don't get it too hot. Sharpen a little, then cool it. It looked like Kevin was sharpening in reverse, the way we learned. We always started at the cutting lip and rotated up. This prevents getting a burr on the cutting lip. Also need to make sure that you have the proper relief from the cutting lip to the backside. If you don't, the drill bit will just rub and not cut. The cutting lips need to be the same length, or you will get chatter. Also need to sharpen the cutting lips to the same angle, or again you will have chatter. Rule of thumb for angle, is to lay 2 hex nuts together, flat-to-flat. This would give you a good idea of a good angle. The drill bit tip should fit right into the angle the nuts make. There are special drill bit sharpening gauges out there, but putting the 2 nuts together is the cheapest. Make sure the nuts you use, are big enough for the size of drill bit you are sharpening. The first cow with the tongue, around the 26:45 mark, did not look like she had an ear tag. I like cookies and brownies that are on the gooey side. I am not really into breads, but I would buy Lasagna, Spaghetti, various pastas, Apple Fritters, Raspberry turnovers, Sweet Rolls, Chicken Noodle soups, Mild Chili.
I sharpen all of my drill bits except the very small bits. Lots of work being completed on the farm there. Back in you USAF days I was stationed in the UP at Kincheloe. Been across the MAC bridge numerous times.
I worked for a guy with a 3 point deere 520 drill on a not till yetter cart. The cart and drill went through dozens of bearings each year so it isnt just the 750s with that issue
Love watching your videos and seeing how the whole family acts and work together! Sydney had me cracking up with his "Welcome to Acres of Clay" bits!😂 I also like how Kevin goes into depth and detail about what he's doing. It's interesting to hear about all that, at least i find it is! And as far as bake sales, I'm a huge cookies and brownies guy! Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, but i like many different flavors. And i vary on the style, like soft and chewy vs thin and crispy, etc. Different breads and muffins would interest me too. Can't wait for the next video to come out!
Great content Sidney to the rescue again one clever chap who explains 100 percent and the other lads and one clever dad Kevin well done more of repairs great show everyone
Gooey Brownies are The Bomb! Each year for my birthday, I would make several pans of brownies to take to work: (1) Black Forest Brownies, (2) Super Nut, and (3) regular. I would almost use a whole bag of walnuts in a 9x13" for #2. For #1, it has some nuts, some mint, some marshmallow cream and cherries.
Ronda; when you said the Brownie recipe was Top Secret. I burst out laughing uncontrollably. 😂😅😊 you are so special I am so blessed to be part of your family Kenny D
If I was to go to a bake sale it would be sticky buns , or sho-fly pie. But only if it's a farming community bake sale. Been to city bake sales, no thanks . At the church I was raised in back in Pennsylvania, they had soup/ bake sales. Usually only lasted a couple hours and they were sold out. One bake sale a man came and gave the church $200 just for fresh coffee plus paid for the things he purchased he paid seperate. That church just closed its doors last month. Town population of 60 people in that small town. But that's what I looked for. But mostly Shoe- fly pie !
Rhonda hope your birthday went off with a bang ‼️. So I can see you are having a great day as farm would have with problems. I’m sure with the talented team that is there all problems can be solved . Have a great day all . Blessings to all .❤️🙏🏻👍😀🤗✝️
Green Acres of Clay, always a joy watching the boys do their thing. I used to like my Brownies Fluffy with Chocolate Frosting and a glass of Milk. Now I like em Fluffy with 2% milk, no frosting. Both ways the house smells like Brownies, that's a win, Am I wrong? My name is Brown and I know Brownies. God Bless you Rhonda and your family...
Do you have two or three sons? The boys are getting over being camera shy and have a sense of humor too. Dad is a great example of how to be a father and gentle leader and you are also a wonderful mom and I didn't forget your daughter who is also a big part of the farm, truck driver etc. I love watching your family work and play together, God bless all of you.
Happy Belated Birthday! Awesome seeing everyone working together on the farm homestead. Sydney's quite the character in front of the camera. Put a much-needed smile on my face today! Have a great day and productive week!
Well I have never put cho chips in brownies before but I will have to try it and I don't go to bake sale but I bake my own bread so enjoy and again Happy Birthday again
Wow, it got the transmission, starter and block. That's near your legs when driving so at least it didn't get more. There must be incidents of shrapnel hitting legs.
When I sharpen my drill bits I had a kit that attached to my grinder and the results are awesome! The angle they put on the bit makes it cut like butter!
If you weld three big hexagon nuts together on the flat you get a 60 degree angle. A properly sharpened drill bit is 59 degrees, and then use the three nuts as a guild for making sure that you don't have to much material on the heal of the drill or to much on the point of the drill, Just saying. Good luck
Kevin, I used to plant 50lbs. of Elbon rye and 15 pounds of marshall rye grass and 150 of 13-13--13 fert. mixed together in a fertilizer buggie on top of disk ground and cover lightly, the El bon helt up the Marshall rye from getting blowed down ,I would get around 7 tons per ac. of silage in early spring ,broadcast 100 lbs. urea in march . It would get 4 to 5 ft. tall.
Gooey brownies are the best. Favorite things at bake sales would be pies, cookies and pepperoni or sausage rolls. While most people throw away dull drill bits, I've been sharpening them freehand since I was a little kid... around 50 years.
Hi Ronda and Kevin and three brothers absolutely awesome video love Ronda going to shop to see what boys working on with there dad and Kevin explain it and as always you all be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Cant beat crunchy edges and just soft in the middle for my best brownie. Gooey not my favorite. Thanks for another one and have a blessed week and harvest wrap up
I'm glad Sydney got over being camera shy. He's about as good at explaining things as Kevin. I enjoy seeing the whole family working together, a lot of them don't seem to be able to do that.
Another good video, thank you.
Should tell your boys to sweep out the shop so they're not stepping over everything love your videos you got a great family😊
I’ll have to say Kevin has to best personality. Always in a pleasant mood. Always informative with a smile. Did you teach him that or was he born that way?
He was born happy! 😄
I’m always looking for poppyseed Kolaches at bake sales. But they are hard to find! I’m Bohemian and I sure miss my grandmas baking! 😊
Yum! Our kolaches are usually fruit or nut filled, but I do like poppyseed filling.
@@acresofclayhomestead plum is a another filling that I like!
🇨🇦 my husband’s shop teacher taught him to sharpen drill bits many years ago. It’s a great skill to have
Yes, it is a great skill!
Brownies with walnuts, and ice cream on top 😋 lol
What a beautifull sunset!😎
HAPPY B DAY!
Happy Monday Always glad to get to see you you just get more Beautiful every day ❤
Happy birthday to the 36 year old baking mom. busy in the kitchen and in the work shop. have a great day to you all.
36 years old?? More like 29
@@JBlow-ip7hf. Oh she’s older than that…
She is wise beyond her years!
Any brownie is a good brownie in my book. Don't think I've ever met one that was totally inedible.
Love to see all the boys in the shop with Kevin! Kevin shares a lot of his knowledge too, with the viewers. Makes me laugh a little when Rhonda asks them what they're doing in the shop, i don't think she's mechanically inclined. But i think she's the glue in this family farm.
When we go to bake sales, we look for specialty breads. Banana, Cran berry bread. That type of thing. Thanks for the videos.
Sure will be niece when you get your new shop.
nice, :)

Hey Kevin, Try using the flat side of the grinding wheel to sharpen bits. Works nicely!
Subscribed. I grew up on a farm/ranch in Mississippi. I appreciate you.
My mom every November would make welsh cookies. Warm fryi ng pan and flip when get golden brown. Boy i miss my mom.
Something about sunrise and sunset puts life in perspective

Learn about drilling pilot holes in AG. Shop in high school

I make both of those, too! I love the upside-down apple pie.
Anything food you make doesn't last, it's all that great.
I spent 40+ years in a machine shop so sharpened a few drills in my time. Keeping the angle around 29/30 degrees will make them drill better.

I use a "Drill Doctor" to sharpen bits. It didn't cost a lot, and it has paid for itself several times over.

i've found the high speed drill bits stay sharp longer at slower speeds i think it has to do with heating of the bits at higher speeds
Slow and a lot of pressure for steel
And start with a smaller pilot hole and work up in size.
Happy late birthday.🎉🎉 I was very late looking at the video. Good as always, your friend from Virginia.😊😊😊

omg dad. 12 degrees is the max for steel drilling.

Speaking of blown up engines, have you seen the Larson Farms blown up combine engine? It is amazing how metal can be blown out of an engine.
Elsing's light pro stock puller the block tore in half horizontally and the top half went up into the hood. New Age Custom Farming ch.
On a combine with only 360 hrs on it! Crazy! Hope that's all on Deere!
Sticky buns!

We go to autumn bake sales for the fresh pies. Apple, Berry, Peach, Pear , Pumpkin etc. Also we love butternut and Acorn squash recipes!
My fave: Chocolate and/or peanut butter no bake cookies.
I'm on Lake Huron facing west. There's almost always people collecting to see the sunsets. The nicest one I've seen was about 5 years ago.

60-degree Angle is Correct for Sharpening a Drill Bit. 👍
Oatmeal Raisin cookies all day everyday. Wife yesterday made some chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips in them that are pretty good.
Sounds like business as usual on the farm, I have to go cut beans . Watch you later!
Great job everyone!!!!! Blessed family!!!!!!!!
