Hi Starla! I absolutely love your videos! I just downloaded the calendars and was printing April and I noticed you have some of the dates wrong. Palm Sunday is April 2nd, Orthodox Easter Day is April 16th, and Easter is Sunday Apr 9th. 💜
I love this video. Just subscribed, joined your FB group, followed you on IG, followed your FB page, and subscribed to your Twitter...all because this video was SO clear, so detailed and so helpful. Not to mention that it's a high-quality vid technically. Thank you for this info! You've presented a lot in a very little bit of time and in an easily digestable way. -S
Same here - I was just thinking it this morning! I sat down at my laptop opened youtube it and it was first video I saw lol I was like ALRIGHTY then! I'll take that as a sign ! ;)
Hey You! You are awesome! Thank you for all you do! I have learned from so many of your videos without saying thank you, so I am on a mission to say (at least) thank you for all the hours that I have learned from you. Since learning that youtubes algorithm likes comments, I feel guilty for not commenting. If you need me to, I will scream it from the rooftops
Not yet. However, if you connect Google Analytics 4 to your shop, it will be able to tell you more about your traffic. If you also use eRank, there is an easy-to-understand summary of your GA4 data on it for your shop.
Thank you for the clarification and especially the aspect ratios. I would like to know, other than the label of Good, Great and Amazing is there a difference in what you pin to categorize them as good, great, and amazing? hope that makes sense
That was how I personally rated them based on the amount of space that the images will physically take up on a screen. Just like buying space in a magazine, the bigger - the better and more likely it is that you'll get noticed.
I am new to your content. But I am so happy I found you!. I love all your content and can't wait to get into the Alpha community. When will be the next opening, and is there a list to join.
Yes! 💛 Handmade Alpha Academy will be opening on June 14th for enrollment. The list to be notified when it opens can be found here: handmadealphaacademy.lpages.co/haa-testimonials-page/
Thank you for all the information ❤️! You are amazing! I will definitely do some adjustments to my Pinterest or even start from fresh to get more traffic to my Etsy.
Hello Starla. Thank you for all your content. What do you mean on recycle the pin. Edit from Pinterest and save the one I already have or delete the old and pin it the same one again with new keywords?
Recycling a pin basically just means that you are re-uploading an image that you've uploaded in the past, but with a new caption. I typically recycle a few pins every 12 months. 🙂
Thanks, Starla! This helps, especially knowing how to find group boards. Question: I have two Pinterest accounts, one personal and the other branded around my Etsy shop. The thing is, people rarely see or interact with my product pins in my Etsy shop branded account, whereas I do get views and even the occasional save on some of the same product pins when I put them in my personal account. Do you think I should just ditch the Etsy branded account and stick with my personal one?
Honestly, I would work to build that other account up, even if it takes time. Since you're seeing decent results from you personal account, maybe try repining some of your business account pins to your personal boards. There's no reason that you cant utilize both. But I'd also try to get that business account off the ground in the long term.
Hi Starla, do you have a good, great and amazing classification for video sizes? And it seems amazing 1:2.1 size for a picture is not recommended for video size
If you are referring to for Pinterest, the rest video size is the 9:16 ratio that is also used by Instagram for stories. That ratio is what is best viewed on phones since most people nowadays use apps like Pinterest on their phones.
Hi Starla, Thanks very much for your great videos. I,m a painter - should I combine originals, pod and digitals in one shop instead of seperate shops? thanks again.
That is entirely up to you. If your art is the cohesive element that ties everything together, there's no reason to split the items us, as long as your target customer for all items is the same.
Thanks for the video! You mentioned that you use Later. Does it allow you to schedule posts to multiple platforms (Pinterest, insta, facebook, twitter, etc), and if so, can you create one product post that it will "automatically" convert the images to the right size and format and paste the URL, title and description as specified by the SM platform? Or do you have to set them each up separately? I have a Canva subscription and it has a scheduling feature, but I think have to create a post with the required image specs for each platform and add in all the details individual. Would love to have an app that allowed you to create one post to schedule and then converted the specs required for each platform.
Unfortunately Later is much the same as canva. If you want to format each image to the perfect size for each platform, you have to do it manually. I'm actually not sure there are any platforms that do this automatically because most of the time, you'll need to manually adjust each element of the image to make everything look nice after it's been resized. Later currently allows you to schedule to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, and TikTok.
Thank you for your videos. I have just started to try to implement t this. Unfortunately Pinterest is automatically adding my entire Etsy product description in one big block of text under my Pin. There is no way to change it. It is an utterly ridiculous idea and means Pinterest is useless for marketing items in my Etsy store. Any thoughts?
This is why I don't recommend pinning right from Etsy. Instead, create your own pin by uploading your product photos directly, then add the link to your listing in your pin link. This will allow you a bit more freedom.
Hi, great tips in this video, thanks. I have uploaded a set of my mugs to Pinterest a few months ago, and I think I did everything right with good photos, descriptions, links, etc, but I'm not getting a single view on those pins. Like, literally not a single one, which is a bit confusing. What am I doing wrong? I'm not connected to any group-boards yet, but shouldn't I get a few accidental views at the very least? Am I missing some kind of obvious setting. Do I need to Publish my pins first so they become visible, or something? I'm kind of lost here tbh.. Also, when you connect to a board, what exactly do I do there? Is it the intention to post my own pins to that board?
Why use the scheduling apps when you can schedule pins on Pinterest? Are there additional features on those like scheduling other social media as well?
Scheduling apps will be ideal for those who are also utilizing other platforms as well. Tailwind has a lot more features than just scheduling to promote Pinterest growth. But if you're planning to ONLY use Pinterest, scheduling direct is absolutely an option.
Hi Starla! I am wondering what to do with pins whose product is not available anymore- new collection, out of stock etc .. link will go to "unavailable" :(
It's up to you! If you sell similar items, I'd swap the link out for your overall shop so people can find other items they may be interested. Or if you don't want to bother with that, you can delete them. I personally would rather redirect people to my other items though. 🙂
Hi Starla, I've watched this video for a second time today and I'm somewhat confused. In Etsy Shop Manager there is the Social Media section which allows you to post to Pinterest directly from Etsy. Are you recommending that we go to Pinterest and create the pin in Pinterest and not use the option available on Etsy?
You can have up to 4 accounts with the 1 sign-up email address. You can intertwine for e.g. 1 personal and 3 business accounts or have 2 personal 2 business... whatever. If you want to have 2 bus accounts to separate AD expenditure etc.. sign-up with 2 different email addys for e.g. 1 google account sign- in email addy and 1 business website email addy.
From everything I've read, it seems to be a glitch unless they were group boards that you didn't personally create, in which case it means they were deleted by the original creator. You may need to reach out to Pinterest support.
@@StarlaMoore when i want to sell product on Pinterest using shopify i have to be verifed seller first and there are some guidelines you must do and i got mail that i didnt get verifed for the reason: the sellers products are always on sale
After performing your search, check the top right corner for a circle (gray or black). I show it very briefly on the screen. It will only appear after you've made your first search and populated a page of results before you'll have the option to filter.
I knew you will answer but I was waiting for the TH-cam notification. I just tested with different search phrases and it seems that the filter option is not available for all of them. Thank you once again!
That's interesting! Some specific queries may slip past the filters so I'd try to start vague and narrow your way down. Good luck! It can take a bit of time to find group boards, as most will be personal.
May I inquire as to whether it is feasible to generate a coupon or discount code that would enable a 100% discount on an entire order? I have attempted to create an "amount off" coupon; however, the recipient is still required to make a payment despite the coupon's complete coverage. My intention in creating such a coupon is to streamline the process of providing replacements or other gifts to purchasers. Any guidance or assistance you may offer would be greatly appreciated
Unfortunately there's no way to do this. You can't charge someone $0 because Etsy's payment processing charges a $0.20 fee (plus the percentage) every time a listing is purchased. Since it gets deducted at point of sale, every listing must be for at least 20 cents.
@@StarlaMoore I appreciate the time you have dedicated to this matter. For individuals seeking a resolution to the aforementioned issue: Based on my understanding, the outcome suggests that the coupon can be applied in a manner that does not entirely cover the total value of the order, but rather ensures a deduction of no less than 0.20 USD, contingent upon the number of products present in the shopping cart.
Sure! Tons of sellers find success selling mugs on Etsy. You'll just need to set a good foundation for yourself by finding a target audience and building your overall brand identity.
You could search Canva for Pinterest / Instagram templates to use.... just type in search bar and options will pop up... they use the same dimensions so you can make reels/videos for both platforms with the 1 template.
Unfortunately, I receive literally 100s of requests like this per day, and with an audience of over 80,000, it would be impossible for me to offer personalized advice to those who are not in my coaching program and still be able to create weekly videos, live streams, and free resources. With that said, I highly recommend checking out my past Etsy shop critique live streams, which I host every few months on my channel. By watching replays of past streams, you can learn a ton about the criteria that I use when critiquing shops. Especially since 99.9% of the time, I give the exact same pieces of advice.
