Just bought a used 16.4.2. If I wanted to add reverb to a vocal channel how do I do that? I understand how to EQ and use FAT for a channel but am confued as to how to add effects to one channel?
First things first, download the manual. All you need to do to apply FX is select the channel, activate the FXA or FXB button, use the screen to select the internal effect. Prev-Next to navigate menus. Press the page down button to get into the effect bank. Press recal to load the effect and get to effect parameters. Press FX button to see it has changed. Use FatChannel knob to adjust amount of send to effects buss. The 16.4.2 has a bit different control layout, but you MUST download and read the manual. I have an entire playlist you can watch to help get started, most if not all applie to your mixer as well. One set of knobs adjust to become what you need using the buttons for AB FX sends, EQs, Aux sends. Hope I didnt leave anything out. Good Luck with your new toy!
When I press FXA or FXB there are only levels in the fat channel faders nothing for the Aux channels. How do I get effects to the Aux channels? Thanks..
You have to assign the fx using AUX 1-4 button in the master section. You can find the manual at the Presonus website. Don't forget to like and subscribe!
So if you were to push the aux 1-4 button on FX-A would the FX-A go to all 4 auxes? Can you send it to only aux 1 or only aux 3? Does it have to go to all the auxes?
You can add effects to the channels before they are sent into the Aux bus though if you need to or you can send the Aux 1 out into an external effect unit well.
Cool. But I can’t record the internal fx from the mixer into my daw ableton. Do you have an idea what the problem is. My daw record only the dry signal. 😐
@@domeniquexander_ record in presonus software “capture” first. You can post mix and add FX straight from the board in post. Then send export those files into your DAW to finalize your mix.
So once you save internal effects and set then to desire sound , name them and saved them in the empty locations can i them recall them and put them in channel one vocals and so on for every channel , but can they all be different effects for each channel
Yes, same effect. You are sending the channels to the FX settings not the FX unit to the channels. It is a buss. Don't forget to hit that SUBSCRIBE button. I really should figure out if this FW unit will work with a USB adapter. Now, what did I do with that thing? lol

Yes, it sends to all 4 Aux.
Thanks for the response. I was trying to figure out if it was possible to send an effect to only one of the aux sends and not to all 4 of them.
