I had a lot of problems concerning my dad, as he ofcourse left bla bla bla, and after 5 years of us being good pals, he threw me out, drunk, in the middle of cold winter night... it is, apparantly, easy to just give up and run away... anyways, greeeeat song! keep up the good work guys!

a band can't stay the same for every album they'd just be running in place i really liked there last 2 albums although the first album was the best there new shit is pretty good too i stil respect them as musicians and with that new midtown guitarist they deff got much tighter

I think the song, along with some other Senses Fail songs, is not just about how parents raise their kids, but things that are passed on through families such as mental illnesses. Even if someone was separated from their parents at birth, they would still inherit certain traits from them, positive or not.

Senses Fail.... has opened my eyes to the fact that others feel pain like i do. I live in an abusive world that tears me to pieces daily. I am bullied, abused at home, and i am loveless. I am on my knees begging for god to kill me. And... Senses Fail just opens my eyes to other people's pain too. thanks senses fail, you made my life whole.
i's absent from the kids life and his dreams. the kid doesnt want to do all the things his dad wants him to do. "cause your only son cant seem to find you" the kid cant seem to find common ground between him and his dad. the dad isnt absent from his life, hes absent from his dreams because he wont let him live his on life and support him. ;)

Well, the song is most likely about maybe trying to get support from your family or parents but they won't give it. And maybe he think he's not good enough and he's going crazy. I don't know why, but I like finding out the meaning of songs :P

I liked them better with more screaming, and the CD "Let It Enfold You" probably had the most meaningful lyrics they've written (of course that is just an opinion so.... yeah....) of course this is one of my favorite songs by them (Let It Enfold followed by Bite to Break Skin, then Family Tradition.)
