Good luck. Hope you don’t have any past-due dental work, back child support or HOA dues. Porches have a habit of taking over your wallet and personality.
The license plate was hysterical. Every part you installed was a struggle. I've been there, my car fights me every time. Got to go work on it when I get home today, it'll be a fight I'm sure.
For next time: If you have a steam wand/cleaner, use that to remove the tint. It makes even the most crusty tint peel without any adhesive left behind.
The side skirts look great and that turtle wax black finish is a very good inexpensive fix that looks and works good. You will have to re-coat them in about a year depending on weather and usage.
The side skirts look good with the dye but I have used LITHIUM AUTO CARE Trim Serum - Trim Restorer and it works great. It was designed to bring the oil back to the top without needing dye.
Awesome Matt. I like the fact that you show the mistakes too, it makes it real. Becoming one of my favourite channels! I’m very excited for you to have this car complete. You worked really hard on it. 👍🏻
Looking so good. Very excited to see the final product and that first drive. That being said... Maybeeeee spray paint those black washers with Japanese writing on them?
Just wanted to give a big shout out to the yellow jack for helping out with all the heavy lifting when Matt needed an extra hand. I can't believe I watched both cars get built in such a short time and now they look mint. Matt, thank you for giving me something to look forward to every week. From one car guy to another keep up the awesome work, really enjoy watching your progress.
The wheels that were on the car before it was painted would look nice on it now in gold (in my opinion) Love the build. Paint looks amazing with the terracotta interior 👌🏻
Just prior to this series starting i let go my 2005 911 997 to a friend, due to lack of opportunity to drive it., who has done a lot of upgrades and its getting driven again. These cars are amazing and deserve to be put back on the road at every opportunity. This has been a great project and you deserve accolades for the excellent job you have done.
It’s really coming together! And what a great platform, 997 Turbo (albeit I might be biased 😊) Check out GT2/GT3 sideskirts. Subtle difference but I think they HUGELY add to the look of the car.
Matt, whatever successes you incur with this channel are well deserved. Great content. I respect your work immensly more than the channels that "make it big" and stray from their roots. Please stay as the guy in his garage rebuilding sweet cars. And if you haven't scrapped yet, get that POS M3 road worthy again 🙂
Hello Matt. I missed a few videos because I was Overseas with the Military, and we all know what's happening with that, lol. Anyway, Matt, you are ploughing on with the fantastic work. The license plate was so funny, time-lapse, lol 😅. Brilliant video again, Matt. 💯👏👏 🇮🇪
Yo Matt the car is looking beautiful! love the chalk paint and the choice of the factory Turbo wheels, Porsche factory wheels went through rounds of design iterations to work with each model and these wheels were exclusive to the turbo 911 and set it off as the top of the range model, great choice imo! I have a request, when you get the car finally buttoned up can you do at least 2 long form videos of you driving the snot out of it and enjoying it and narrating with your thoughts on performance etc, like a top gear uk review. With drone shots! Maybe the 2nd video do a road trip in it! Congrats on all of your hard work, it’s beautiful!
You are my favorite car TH-camr to watch (always jump straight to your new video when I hop on YoutTube)! Just graduated from University in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and I definitely will be using my newfound adult income to buy some broken Porsches and follow in your footsteps haha
I really, really look forward to your videos. Well done on everything you have done thus far and here's to more great content in the future. Thank you for doing what you do! From Australia.
Hey Matt, I just used that trim restorer on my GT500 and I thought you should know any low or high PH chemical will strip that trim restorer. I put mine on about 5 weeks ago and I’d say it’s around 60%. Definitely a good product compared to alternative measures, however, painting for me has been a good full 12month option. Awesome seeing your channel grow.
Great videos! So you have one how you remove and install the rubber/alumimum molding on the rear window? Need to remove mine and don’t know how. Read very important not to drop riverts inside fender.
I can't wait for the build breakdown, buying a wrecked one and restoring it I'm pretty sure is my only hope in justifying a Porsche purchase to the wife 😆
You ever consider the melt trick for the side skirts ? Take a torch to them and quickly pass over them with the flame it brings up a lower level of the plastic and rehydrates it to make it shiny again
I had a similar issue with my plastic side skirts, I used plasti dip, first sanded then spayed a couple of coats of plasti dip and they look brand new, by the way excellent channel, I found it also hide most of the scratches
Hey Matt, I feel your pain in having to fit, remove and refit the newly completed back bumper several times.......we've all been there buddy! This 997 project is looking good, and those refurbed side skirts look great! I fitted some new GT2 side skirts to my 997 Carrera 4S, and they really transformed the look of the car. Keep up the great work......nearlg there! 👍🔥👍
Keep it up man! Love seeing this build come together. Should have trim dressed the fender lining too though while your at it. Nitpicking as I could propbably do 5% of what you've done. 🍻
Bought a 996 this weekend because of you so if anything goes sideways it’s your fault.
Good luck.....your in big trouble.....😅
Good luck. Hope you don’t have any past-due dental work, back child support or HOA dues. Porches have a habit of taking over your wallet and personality.
wait until you start seeing the part costs..lol
It’s a 996, what could possibly go wrong??? 😊
It’s a 996, what could possibly go wrong??? 😊
This has been my absolute favorite TH-cam content.
Kind words!!
All car lovers love the Porsche 911 and your channel is growing. Congratulations on completing this car. I hope your next project is a Porsche.✌🏻👍🏻
I'm hoping for an e34 BMW! ;)
I’m hoping he sticks to these two cars for a bit. Upgrading turbos, tuning it, and really dialing them, maybe one can be track and the other daily?
One of them will be getting power upgrades for sure! The other will be leaving ....
The license plate was hysterical. Every part you installed was a struggle. I've been there, my car fights me every time. Got to go work on it when I get home today, it'll be a fight I'm sure.
They always fight back lol
Yeah. It’s awesome to watch someone remove their bumper 4 times. Top tier entertainment here.
For next time: If you have a steam wand/cleaner, use that to remove the tint. It makes even the most crusty tint peel without any adhesive left behind.
Making mistakes is easy, owning up to it is the hard part. You keep it real, Respect Matt! amazing content!
Appreciate it!
Not gonna lie I didn’t like the gray at first but seeing it all together it’s looks amazing good job!
The side skirts look great and that turtle wax black finish is a very good inexpensive fix that looks and works good. You will have to re-coat them in about a year depending on weather and usage.
I've had really good luck with the turtle wax trim dye. I found rubbing alcohol works well to prepare the tri before the application.
Love it. Also love the wheels you have on it, those are some of my favorite porsche wheels. If you want to go aftermarket, maybe some RUF wheels?
Getting so close to being done. It looks amazing!!
That was a great one Matt. Cannot wait for the finally finished machine!
Looking mint Matt! Love it! I’d spray those turbo wheels in black they would look awesome with crayon, have the same on my white Cayman!
Looking good! Keep it up. Macan wheel and head unit.
Seriously great job Matt bring this Porsche back to life. It just looks great 👍🏻
The side skirts look good with the dye but I have used LITHIUM AUTO CARE Trim Serum - Trim Restorer and it works great. It was designed to bring the oil back to the top without needing dye.
Awesome Matt. I like the fact that you show the mistakes too, it makes it real. Becoming one of my favourite channels! I’m very excited for you to have this car complete. You worked really hard on it. 👍🏻
Thank you! I try and keep it real
Love the 997 series. For any black exterior trim try SEM Black Trim paint. Those restorers don’t last.
Was looking forward to this next episode! You are flying through this Matt!
OMG, HOOD STRUTS!!! HOOD STRUTS!!!! YES, LETS GO!!
Finally!!
Looking so good. Very excited to see the final product and that first drive. That being said... Maybeeeee spray paint those black washers with Japanese writing on them?

Thanks for the kind words! The yellow Jack has been mint lol
Great work Matt. The 997 looks epic. Hope you keep the stock wheels.Cheers 👍
Congratulations on the car and the series, it's been really fun to watch so far
The wheels that were on the car before it was painted would look nice on it now in gold (in my opinion)
Love the build. Paint looks amazing with the terracotta interior 👌🏻
I think you're right!
Just prior to this series starting i let go my 2005 911 997 to a friend, due to lack of opportunity to drive it., who has done a lot of upgrades and its getting driven again. The car is looking really good!
I’ve really enjoyed your journey putting these 2 Porsches together.
It’s really coming together! And what a great platform, 997 Turbo (albeit I might be biased 😊)
Check out GT2/GT3 sideskirts. Subtle difference but I think they HUGELY add to the look of the car.
The 997 is coming along! Love the chalk gray and red tails combo from the back. Can't wait to see what wheels you go with!
Greyyyy!!!!
19:58 🤣but in the next clip you still had the broom stick in your hand, D'oh!
Stupid editor!! It's me I'm him lol
Love your honesty and ability to make fun of yourself! The car is looking awesome!
Great work!! stoked to se more progress
Car is looking good. You are doing a great job.
The car looks so good and it looks so clean with the tint gone
This car is coming out amazing! Keep up the great work Matt 💪🏼
Thanks! Will do!
Dude, such a great view to see the progress in this video. Keep it up Matt
Wing and Rims. Waiting!!!!
You're vids are a real motivation for me to continue work on my car. Thx
You can do it!
Much respect from Gordons Bay, South Africa
So close to the finish line now Matt.
Fantastic content.
Thanks for sharing.
Loved it all.
Wow the car is looking amazing well done Matt.
Russell 🇬🇧
Awesome that you salvaged the side skirts. Good cost savings on a piece you really don’t notice
What an amazing job! Looks absolutely stunning. Great job my friend.
The 997 is looking absolutely beautiful! What a build! I’ve been hooked on this since the beginning. Only wish I could have one! 😊👍
Find a project 997!
@@matt13ross project cars are pretty rare in the UK, I’ll get one eventually though!😊👍
Man it looks so good
Side skirts are beautiful bro
I love your series! Thank you for taking the time to record your journey.
Thanks for watching!
Great work Matt
Great progress in this video! Excited for the next one
Have loved this series, please get another Porsche
Please Matt….throw some gold BBS LM wheels on that bad boy. It would look so minty 👌
Thanks so much! I don't plan on changing other than a bigger garage!
M3 is being painted now
the ability to make fun of one's self is what I am best at, I feel for you buddy!
Great job Matt. So close bro
Cannot wait for this thing to be finally finished!
Mini Split in the garage !! I did it, game changer for sure
Actually my garage stays about the same temp as the house.
Steam is the answer to tint and really all adhesive work. A cheap steamer will get you much further than a heat gun... although it is never fun
Looks great, stoked for the final reveal 😎 ( and maybe wheels?? 🤔)
Wheel yes
Hello Matt. I missed a few videos because I was Overseas with the Military, and we all know what's happening with that, lol. Anyway, Matt, you are ploughing on with the fantastic work. The license plate was so funny, time-lapse, lol 😅. Brilliant video again, Matt. 💯👏👏 🇮🇪

Congrats on all of your hard work, it’s beautiful!
I'll definitely do a driving video!
I like how you reused the side trims with the turtle wax product. Well done, turned out nice
I've said this before, but your editing is terrific. It's the editing that turns good YT into great YT.
Thanks so much! I pride myself in that.
Amazing WORK ❤️ 👍🏼
The joy of seeing those hood struts get installed 🙂
Yup lol
Looks killer dude!
Ok that was funny those first 10 mins lol 🎉keep it going!
Still kickin ass Matt
keep up the great work!!
You are my favorite car TH-camr to watch (always jump straight to your new video when I hop on YoutTube)! Just graduated from University in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and I definitely will be using my newfound adult income to buy some broken Porsches and follow in your footsteps haha

Great work!!!

Really liking the attention to detail and oem plus finish . Love from the UK
Cars looking great

Look at getting 997 gt2 side skirts and paint to match body colour. One of my first mods and still favorite
great work matt. Love this build
Thanks!
Great videos man, keep it up!
New tattoo Matt? Car is looking good brother. Those side skirts take a beating, but painted and PPFd they visually lower the car.
I got it a few months ago.
Looking great!
Man she is looking beautiful!
Thanks Matt, You work so harf making your content! I really enjoy you; keep up the great work... How about doing a trashed 993?
Love it! Maybe use trim restorer on some of the fender liners as well?
They're gonna get beat up. I thought about it though lol
Get a 987.2 or 981 Cayman S or Boxster S. Great motors withough the IMS or bore scoring.
The content it is awesome, I am looking for a porsche myself. I am looking forward to your next video. Your videos are one the best out there.
Awesome, thank you!
Not sure how it happened but TH-cam stopped notifying of your videos … but now I have a hell of a lot to binge
You ever consider the melt trick for the side skirts ? Take a torch to them and quickly pass over them with the flame it brings up a lower level of the plastic and rehydrates it to make it shiny again
Ahh that's a good idea!
What about changing interior color for other? You could tint seats, trims etc with Imolarot red for example.
Nooo I love the terracotta!
I had a similar issue with my plastic side skirts, I used plasti dip, first sanded then spayed a couple of coats of plasti dip and they look brand new, by the way excellent channel, I found it also hide most of the scratches
I've never had good luck with painting plastic. Never seems durable. But thank you!
Looking goooooood👍🏻
Hey Matt, I feel your pain in having to fit, remove and refit the newly completed back bumper several times.......we've all been there buddy!
This 997 project is looking good, and those refurbed side skirts look great! I fitted some new GT2 side skirts to my 997 Carrera 4S, and they really transformed the look of the car.
Keep up the great work......nearlg there! 👍🔥👍
Thought about the GT2 but $$$$$
Hey Mat, love the vid. I painted my side skirts same as the body… wicked
Sad to see this project coming to an end
Looking great 👍
Still lots of fun stuff left with it!
Car came together really well. Looks amazing! I missed where you got the bumperette delete. I need that in my life!!!
I thought I said in the video? I forget now lol
Keep it up man! Love seeing this build come together. Should have trim dressed the fender lining too though while your at it. Nitpicking as I could propbably do 5% of what you've done. 🍻
I don't think the liners are worth that lol
"My rivets pull out but I don't...." - oh that is GOLD!! Hah!!!
First one to notice!!! Ahahaha
Get a mini split for garage ac. Game changer. Amazon for $1000 18,000btu 220v. All you’ll need is an electrician to wire it. AC,heat and dehumidify
I would but my little garage actually stays at about the same temp as my house.
I love Porsche’s and just came upon your video. I’m standing work.
Welcome aboard!
