@@JoshSnodgrassLessons Should be good with your video discussion and the TH-cam little gear. If tab ever does make it to your store I'll be sure to buy it for the binder I'm making of your songs. Your arrangements with the drop d capo have been inspiring for me. I've made a few of my own arrangements using it now. Thanks for the inspiration. 👍👍
Thank you, I got this guitar used about 8 years ago. It's has really been a blessing. I had some trouble with it and got the frets replaced and now it sounds good as new!
Beautiful lesson you have blessed us with. I have also heard your version of "Who You Say I Am." That is so touching. Can you provide a lesson for that song, please?🙏✝🙏
A note to anyone struggling with using your pinky and ring finger to hold down the first chord shape...try using your ring finger and middle finger instead. Then wrap your thumb over the neck to play the base G when the index finger is needed on the high end string. Its been working for me as I'm learning this song. Just couldn't do it with pinky and ring finger. Maybe my hands aren't big enough. Hope that helps if needed.. Its a cramped up position either way but worth experimenting with in order to play this beautiful song. 👍👍
Yeah, the way I play it is a bit of an odd shape but the fact that I just leave the 3rd and 4th finger in place most of the time makes it a lot easier. Sliding that first finger up is hard but somehow, I've gotten used to it. I play a lot of cramped shapes to make the melody flow smoothly. It's worth it to make the guitar sound likes it's singing. We all have to find ways to make our fingers play what we want to hear. I totally agree that there is not "right way" to play a song. If you want to use your thumb, that's great or whatever it takes. I often make changes in fingering when I'm learning other people's arrangements. It only makes sense, we all have different sized hands and fingers.
@@JoshSnodgrassLessons I'm still experimenting with different fingerings. Its a great arrangement. I've never heard of the song before. Had to listen to several TH-cam videos to know the lyrics. Thanks again. 👍👍
I haven't done an arrangement of that song. It looks like there is an older hymn and then a more modern version with similar lyrics but maybe a modified melody and structure. -I'm not sure about that. Could you comment with a link to a video of the song/version you are talking about? Thanks so much!
i am learning this for my dad! thank you
