Recently bought a Poly D and - thanks to TH-cam - I've more or less worked out how to manipulate the sounds but I've not yet had the nerves to look at the sequencer. This video has demystified it - thank you.
Very good tutorial. These are the gold nuggets of tuts. Everyone else doing demos of the Poly D, moving filter knobs and moving their heads to the beat, while this guy is teaching the intricate parts of the Poly D.
Informative video. I've owned my Poly D for about 9 months and barely use the sequencer. Never would have known about the Poly D sequencer's diverse features if not for this video. Thank you.
Fantastic!! Thanks so much for this! I just bought a 2nd hand Poly D that came with no manual, and haven't yet been able to find a manual on the web, so this tutorial was invaluable to hip me to the basics of flying the sequencer. Live long and prosper!
Superb demo. I'd probably never have even knows it could do all this without your video. Though more often an issue with VSTs It really highlights that - it is surely better to have a few synths you know like the back of your hand than dozens where you could not possibly remember the functionality of them all. The Poly D also seems a really nice balance in its function set . I have an Access Virus TI which I adore as a synth to stroke, gaze lovingly at and buy treats like adjust cover and better cables and pedals - while recognizing I am punching above my weight to even call it mine, but I recognize I shall never understand it. The Poly D, thanks to videos like yours - I have a fighting chance!
I swear, I had no idea some of those functions existed, and I did try to read the manual. Maybe it's in there but it's not very clear. You did a true service by showing us on vid how to do it!
I've been playing around with the arpeggiator on my Poly D for ages and everything sounds like Geogio Moroder! But you've inspired me to try again :) Thanks!
Hello Sir ! First of all, thank you for this video. I would like to know how we can find the bpm of the created sequence. Like yours for exemple, how can we figure out the bpm and sync the melody to drums for example. Thank you !
@@badymoh Having recorded the same note(s) in two/more consecutive steps, you can hit rec and turn the 'tempo/gate length' all the way up for each of them. This way each step is chained to the next one.
Thank you for the video I have been toying with the idea of selling my Korg MS 2000 and buying one of these but I want to get as much information on it as I can being a current and past Moog owner I’m very familiar with the set up and the mechanics of how the synth should work.
Awesome thanks!! The thing I'd love to change is when you record a sequence and then press a key to modulate it up or down, it doesn't start the sequence with the exact note you play as the first note in the sequence. Meaning, if I play a sequence in like with E Pentatonic then I go to modulate it up one half step by playing the F key, its not in F Pentatonic, but A. Then to get back to my origional key of E I have to press C not E. Confusing right? :)
Yes indeed. It's not just confusing it´s a severe bug that should be fixed. Every sequencer I've been using so far works the way I've expected ... every ... but the Poly D. The Poly D is a fantastic synth but bugs should not be taken as features 🤨
Tanks bro, good job..... Question What are the best synthesizers to make easy sequencers os VSTs? I have arturia V Collection but don't but is not easy to make sequencer
Yes, eight patterns x eight banks = 64 total patterns can be stored/recalled. It’s all described In greater detail, in the user guid pdf, that can be downloaded at the Behringer website. It would be nice, to have this gentleman show us how, he is a great teacher.
PLEASE HELP - does anyone know how to simply save a sequence after you’ve made one? The user manual doesn’t cover some of the most basic functions and it’s incredibly frustrating. Behringer needs to work on this. Also - why on earth would you need to use software or an app on a phone or laptop to simply access the global perimeters?? If you can tell me how to change it to external clock (for using CV, not MIDI) Or how to save a sequence … I will be able to actually use this board

Great video thanks..basically the clearest set of instructions to use the poly d's sequencer I've seen on you tube. Cheers 👏👏
That’s glide effect is dope!!!🔥🔥🔥🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
3:21 Christoph Franke used that effect a lot in Tangerine Dream's sequencer lines through the 70s and early 80s.

Nothing plays back after I record a sequence. Any ideas why that might be. The arpeggiator isn’t doing anything either...
the keyboard may be set to sync externally instead of internally.
@@dilliot2k I had a feeling that might have been it and it was. Cheers!
@@docguitar3 Hey I have got exactly the same problem! How have you changed the keyboard sync to internal? :)
great ! thanks !
Thanks for nice tutorial. Newbie here... Is it possible to sequence some pattern and then play simultaneously on the keyboard using different sounds?
No, then it would be considered a multi timbral keyboard, so there are some limitations there.

Can you save patches on Poly D?
Behringer should include a link to this video in their manual!
my poly d stop the sequencer at 4 bank,( 8step for bank) it's possible to program at 8 bank?
Nice!
Can you save rhythms?
I can’t seem to change the step sequence length from 16 to 32. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

I would recommend that you use midi and allow the rd8 to be the master clock.
