@@ModernMetaphysicae For once, I get to have a video with only my favorite system. Let's gooooo! So happy to see The Thot Tarot an Oracle for Change on the list. It's a solid reader for more introspective work and to read for others. Hands down one of my favorite deck. The big guidebook with the pathworkings is incredible.
Hello, I was looking for my first deck and thanks to you I think I've narrowed it down to the Tarot of the Spirit or Liber T( though I do have Telos 777 on order). I was just wondering do you happen to have any literature recommendations for the deck and just this section of tarot in general? I'm just assuming the booklet included is just the bare minimum. Thanks!!
Both are great decks. Tarot of the Sprit has its own set of books that I could recommend: Tarot of the Spirit Book - amzn.to/3S89pGw Kabbalah and Tarot of the Spirit - amzn.to/3SbrhjQ If you go with Liber T - I would say start with Lon Milo DuQuette's Understanding Aleister Crowley's Toth Tarot which is the book we are currently reading in the members Study Hall - and my go to book recommendation for Thoth Tarot in general. amzn.to/4bRuMTv
@@ModernMetaphysicae Thank you! Will check them out. Oh and one other thing, is the Spirit deck actually considered a Thoth deck? I got a few mixed responses when looking further into it. Thanks again!
@@Riful Its not a Thoth Clone - but it does lean in some regards Thoth. It is kind of its own thing truthfully which is why I recommend the companion book for it. Some would say its more Hermetic/Golden Dawn.
Nice collection. Night Sun reminds me more of a graphic novel art compared to a cgi artwork. As much as a I adore the Marea tarot I don’t like the white border, the size, and the biggest gripe I have is the backs, they ugly
Hi, thank you for showing your beautiful collection, I do like the Thoth system and didn't even know there are so many Thoth based decks. Via Tarot and Surfers Paradise - OMG! 😍 Also, for all of you who would like to get the Rohrig Tarot - it is available as indie on the author's website (roehrigart dot com), it costs 45 Suisse francs (around 50 US dollars). And Lo Scarabeo recently reprinted Liber T Tarot with a slightly different backs.
Oh thank you for the info! I had no idea the Rohrig was being offered as an indie now how awesome! roehrigart.com/en/shop/art-shop/roehrigtarot-cards/tarot-cards/ Do you happen to have a link to the new Liber T edition? I did see they have the older one available directly from them here still now: www.loscarabeo.com/en/products/liber-t-i-tarocchi-delle-stelle-eterne I've updated the description with links! :D P.S. You are always welcome to post links as long as they are appropriate - I do have it set to hold comments with links for review - but as long as they are helpful and relevant links I always approve! :)
Thank you for the great video! It’s so hard to pick a favorite! I’d definitely be curious to see more of the Magickal Tarot. But other than that deck I really also liked the Cosmic Tribe, Via, Asherah, Thoth Journey, Tabula Mundi, Ritual (I have this one so am bias), Hardy, New Chapter, Urban, Gill & Star.
So interesting and well done! I have my own Thoth sub-collection, though sadly you have many decks I don't have and probably will never have - but the second best to owning it is seeing it present thoughtfully and lovingly on your channel, so thank you for that! For me, the Stella Tarot, Hermetic Tarot and both Tarot of the Sefirot (Spheres of Heaven) and Tarot of the Sephiroth (OOP but excellent, with a very good book) also belong into this category. Thank you for giving this in-depth view of the field. Thoth inspired really great decks, each of them speaking a different artistic dialect but all speaking Thoth ;-)
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment! I plan on doing a Hermetic and Golden Dawn video next that includes things like The Hermetic, Sephiroth, Golden Dawn decks! :)
No apology necessary! So if the Thoth and the RWS systems are children systems then the Golden Dawn is the parent in a family tree of sorts. Golden Dawn decks have certain imagery, titles, and order prescribed by the order. Both Waite and Crowley were members of the Golden Dawn and sought to perfect the deck outlined with in that order with their own decks respectively to some extent. There are many differences between the three - but the minors are the biggest difference between Thoth/Golden Dawn and the RWS. The minors in the Thoth are much like those in the Golden Dawn system being pip styled, however Crowley changes some of the titles on the minors. E.g. 3 of Wands in the Thoth is 'Virtue' while in the Golden Dawn it is 'Established Strength'. The RWS has no titles on the minors and instead employees pictorial scenes to convey meaning - heavily influenced from the minors of the Italian deck The Sola Busca.
Love this. Maybe a future study Hal could be Tarot of the Spirit. I have the deck and book, but it intimidates me more than Thoth. At the same time, there is something -almost Native American about it (which is some of my ancestry) - that beckons me. Anyway - food for thought?
The books written for the deck are actually amazing. Would highly recommend checking them out if you dont have them. Always love suggestions for future Study Halls!

How do you tell the difference between a Thoth based clone and a Golden Dawn? Sorry for my ignorance on this topic
