I corresponded with Aevon today and they are asking 280euros or $310 to ship a STD 100 to the USA. That is on top of the 759euros or $840 for the trailer. For something as light as this trailer plus unbolting the lead arm and putting it in the trailer with the rear fork and tires seems like a ridiculous shipping charge. Superb looking trailer, but that is like three BOB ibex, almost two Tout Terrrain Mules, or two FarFarer trailers for the price of one Aevon STD 100 shipped. I also tend to be a tad skeptical of reviews when the equipment has been given at a "substantial discount" or sponsored. I sort of miss the cachet of an ebike, might as well take a motorcycle.... putt putt. But I'm glad you had a wonderfull adventure.
One Tubus Grand Tour is 760g and the panniers are less or the same as the huge bag you've got. But a trailer is awesome for oversized stuff like you cant fit on a bike.
How much weight did you have in the trailer at the start, and how much did you finish with?? Very awesome trip, a real treasure that I've found here on TH-cam; thank you for sharing!!
Hey thanks! Maybe 20 - 25kg. Closer to 25 at the start and closer to 20 at the end. Of course this is without food and water. I ofter had more than 5kg of water in there!
Dear Jack, hi from Italy :) awesome accomplishment! I'd have a question pleeeeease :) : does the std100 put some share of stress/weight on the seatpost tube? Is it like some extra kilos of "rider's weight" to be reckoned in? I have a gravel/tourer bike which is a good workhorse but also thin above the rear hub ( = frame junction). I would like to find a way to carry some 40-50 kilos load. A user of even the lighter Uno100 told me to be careful about my bike's seatpost anyway. So now i'm wondering 1) what you as different user think on this at all; 2) whether in case the std, while managing heavier loads, might actually put less stress on the bike seatpost. Thanks. As the seat post is mostly vertical most of the force would be downwards so it's like a heavier rider. However it's not a consideration i needed to make because if you look at my bike frame (surly troll) you can see the seat tube is reinforced with an extra tube. I am in contact the the company that make these trailer and i can put you in touch if needed. Good luck!

That trailer would make a good promo piece for the Aevon Trailers who'd probably love to show this around various trade fairs and tell a story with it. Obviously don't clean it or the aesthetics of the trip and ruggedness of the product would vanish then.
Amazing loved your video bro I’m planning on a 60 day trip with just ebike trailer and solar panels you think it will work on a small 250w 48v fatbike as I only use 420wh battery a day for 30 miles to travel around uk 🇬🇧 will this work you wanna sponsor me at all lol 😂
Thanks! In very sunny conditions you would only need 100w of solar to provide that much energy in a day. In bad sun maybe 300 - 350w. So yes, very possible. Can say i have a business to sponsor with at the moment haha
I had 4 "75 watt" panels equaling "300 watts". Of course this is just claimed output and these panels weren't flash tested. My best day in Kazakhstan with perfect conditions flat horizon and no trees/shadows was around 1400wh. Generally you can multiply the rated output by 3 - 4 to get expected Wh over a sunny summer day
My charge controller wasn't set to max charge voltage nope. Because the one i needed is a "custom" option from genesun and i couldn't afford it. I never let the battery get full so i was not loosing out by this.

@@electricfatbiker9717 i couldn't tell any difference to be honest! I think that is just a leather saddle thing. Maybe i takes your body a day or two to get used to it though. Glad to hear that, thank you :)

How many watts was the panel Jack? Do you know roughly how many Wh you got from it on the best days?

Would a two wheel trailler have been more stable for the solar?
I don't think the slight potential advantage outweighs the advantages of a good one wheel trailer in my opinion :)
