    I've made three of those 6x1S cables. Lots of testing with the DMM to assure myself that I had it correct. I like this board, one can charge less than six at a time. (edit) And it's cheaper to buy this compared to buying all the bits to make the cable.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good point I forgot to mention... this is definitely way cheaper than the old way by buying all the wires and adapter pieces to make one yourself. With this now in existence, you'll only want to make a DIY one if you just like to waste time and money.

    Good idea
    from my "DIY-Expert-Level" (ironi) I´d think of a click-based mounting of the power- and balancer cables on the PCB. This way the tiny cable strands are allways wiggling around a bit an will sheer of after a while.

  • @Lozoot2
    @Lozoot2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hah, I was just thinking this morning about trying to find or make something like this! I would like to see a 6-pos switch instead of the jumpers though, just to make it a little more idiot-proof.
    I currently use the betaFPV 6-battery charger, but it can't do discharging for storage. Unfortunately like half my bt2 lipos are puffed and dead now because I never got around to using them and they sat for a month at full charge 😅

    • @fractalengineering
      @fractalengineering 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yep so my first revision used dip switches and it didn't hold up the current; 6pos switches are hard to find in 2A and when you do they are bulky and expensive;
      this much current is AC territory so the bright red extended jumper was just the next best solution to get them out at an affordable price

    • @Lozoot2
      @Lozoot2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fractalengineering Ahh, that makes sense! On the opposite side of things being idiot-proof, would you consider selling just the unpopulated board? I've got enough spare connectors and wires to build one lol

    • @MissingNumb
      @MissingNumb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When we encountered this problem with diy vapes back in the day, we went switching mosfets of the appropriate load. I know cost and time prohibitive, but who knows maybe down the line you could refine a deluxe version 😉.

    • @MissingNumb
      @MissingNumb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      By the way, love the product! Soo, I can fit gnb27 in the bt2.0 hole if I line the banana plugs right, but not fully through hole. Would that be enough contact for light storage charging?

    • @fractalengineering
      @fractalengineering 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MissingNumb lol yes mosfets and even logic gates to detect the number of cells automatically has been discussed, but in the end it would remain useless without the charger, so the next step that would make sense would be a full-featured charger imo
      I have not had a gnb27 connector in hands, it might be bigger than BT2.0; in any case the purpose of these free holes are to solder a lead to it; I wouldn't recommend simply sticking live wires to it

  • @amen_ra6926
    @amen_ra6926 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    NIce.....I just have one of those boards that set the whether the battery in an HV or not and a light goes out when charging is done. But there is no way to storage charge. So I just don't bother. I fly them down to about 3.5 and that's it. I may look into this gadget even though I don't fly whoops too much anymore. The lipos don't seem to last too long either. I should dump most of them and re-up.

  • @Michael_DahShow
    @Michael_DahShow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Correct me if I am incorrect. The board looks like you could solder on bt2.0 connectors to the board next to the ph2.0 connectors.

    • @AlbertKimTV

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's true but this is also not real parallel charging. It's creating a serial pack from individual packs so you can take advantage of modern smart charger balancing features. Still better than anything else out there now for 1S packs.

    • @sendorm
      @sendorm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It probably will (depending on the side you have shorted). Got to look at the traces but I guess one side is connected to the positive sides of the batteries, while the other side is all shorted and connected to the main red wire. this way you get to choose which series connected battery is connected to the main red wire.

    • @fractalengineering
      @fractalengineering 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sendorm Well the manual advises against it...however for the bravest of you, if you still insist on trying then yes it will utterly destroy...nothing lol, each pin on the top row lead to the VCC side of each cell, so there is a voltage potential of zero between any of them ;)
      The bottom row is a little more complicated, depending on how many lipos are plugged it may do nothing or dead short 1S; up to you, but I don't recommend it

    • @sendorm
