Bro what a legend I was charging mine on fast charge luckily I just changed it to balance charge it told me the battery was full I finnally understand how to use this thankssss
Good video, it helped me alot. Today I used my new imax B6 for the first time for a Lipo 6S 22.2V Roaringtop 3700mAh which was great since it is the first option to pop up. Plugged everything in. I set the charger at 3.7 amps, on 'ballance'. Looked good. Charged the battery in 36 minutes. Loud alarm and it said "Full" I pushed the stop button. Just when I took off the neg aligator clip for the battery the 110 power supply popped and suddenly everything died. After some trbl shooting I confirmed it is the power supply and not the charger. What did I do wrong? I went by the plugging/unplugging sequence given in the manual. And wasn't that an awefully fast charge time? Maybe I had the amps set too high? I guess I'll try to find a new PS, but I need to know why or how I fried this one. The charger is still okay, tested on car battery. But the 110 PS went out at exactly the time I took off the Neg aligator from the batt wire. Thnks for any advice.
Lipo balance is MUST for charging specially if you tap peripheral power for things like video systems and now that ridicules RID modules that do not use the full cell count.
Use a BEC for that stuff, or an ESC with an integral BEC. Dont tap the balance lead, you will kill the battery much quicker once the cells get mismatched. a 3 amp 2-6s micro bec circuit board is about 4 grams.
@@BadHaddy Tell everyone else I already know that stuff which is why I said what I did. Too many people like to shortcut things or be butt clenched tight with their budget and do use balance ports as single cell taps.
Next up: How to cut an extra safety key notch out of the 5s balance ports on your parallel charging board so you can charge your toothpick batteries even though their balance leads are short
It's a shame you guys didn't show use of a better quality charger. There are a HUGE number of low-quality clones of the Imax and it's impossible to tell which are good. The original "good" Imax has a habit of killing batteries (sometimes explosively), and the clones are FAR worse. Quite frankly, the Imax should never be recommended by anyone serious in this hobby.
I thought we were suppose to use the EV sample of charging with the battery as close to the house as possible! The electric scooters are burning down more buildings than kids playing with matches!
Actually on some pack sizes the charger would struggle to bring it to full charge at .5c. even the battery manufacturers (no matter who) recommend 1c for safety and long lifespan of their products.
not realy, i have batterys that can take up to 5C without any problem. also keep in mind most modern smartphones charge at higher rates than 1C . but it depends on the battery type. high current cells that most model planes, drones and cars use are fine up to 2C. but i sometimes had the problem, if i charge slower than 0.5C , i cant get the fully rated mah in the pack. but in general i recommend sticking with 1C maybe 2c if it needs to be charged fast, and ALWAYS use balance-charge mode.
Take care when buying one of those chargers. There are a hell lot of cheap clones all over the internet. Always buy trustworthy chargers. Like how much is your home worth to you? Better spend a few Bugs more to be safe
I guess you are completely right about that comment. I had a B6 that was made by another Maker. It was a really, really good charger..... I have also seen the same charger made by other people or manufacturers. If you want to say it that way. I don't remember the manufacturer of mi'm, but it was a great charger for what it was. And it only cost me like $16. If this age is me Any. I ordered it with a Dean's connector because of RC sparks .....LOL.
Thank you so much flight test for this video before this I was always scared of my battery burning down 🔥

I've got that identycal model for more than ten years now, never had any problem!
Hi is ny sounds when full charge
Should I still charge my batteries after they have been sitting for years not in use but they were brand new?
Hello! Is it safe / safer to charge at lower ampere?
How can I charge a 12V K-Power battery?
It is a shame that the charger screen was not visible for all of the inputs
i have a 5600mah lipo, is it ok to charge it with just 2A instead of 5.6A?
The lower the safer
It will work
Great video!
I love flight test.never go beyond a 1C charge current.
I have a 3s battery lipo it says 650 mah 95 c so i should charge it at 0.65a?
Yess
How does the 14v shown mean its done charging if the battery says 11?
how do i check my battery status?
man, the charge option? the first one
Great video thx

Why is there no Hebrew translation? can you add thanks.
i bought that same charger from banggood for 15 dollars, it's pretty good except for the 6s port stopped working
Its in the name.. Bang (you) Good..... they are known for fake knock offs. They even stole an FT design and slapped their name on it.
So you're not supposed to hook the leads to a stick welder

.5 c is way safer .... 1 c is at the upper limit

If you remove all of the go-aheads, this video would be a minute shorter.. 😎
If you remove all of the off topic comments the comment section would be shorter.... Just sayin...
