Hey Brad, thanks for the insight! I am new to smoking foods, but this video definitely provided great descriptions of the different flavors that I don't have to test out in trial and error. Again, thank you!
Loved this video. I am just starting to use wood chips in a smoker box on my gas grill. Very informative with some humor…Pe-can pecan
Glad it was helpful!
Great info Brad. Thanks
Cherry and Peach combo is a fantastic blend for anything pork and yes poultry! And White Oak for beef all the way! Has that great oaky flavor with a beautiful hint of vanilla!
Thks for explaining how strong or not each type of wood chips is. New to smoking.
Glad it helped!
Such a fantastic video! I am very happy to have learned so much in such a little time. Now to smoke all these fish i caught,a
Happy cooking!
I see Peach wood for the sweet flavor. Interesting to see Cherry and Pecan. I learned Mesquite the hard way. I bought a 40 lb bag of lump and spatchcocked a chicken. Even a quick steak was more than I was wanting. I cook on a Kamodo and have found B&B Oak lump to be a personal favorite now. Even with pizza I can taste a little smoke and it’s good flavor.
Excellent video right to the point.
Mesquite smoke and salt and pepper brisket ! Just awesome
Well done video.
This guy is good. 👏👏👏👏
Texas here, Mesquite is everywhere too and it's what I use the most. Pecan is a nice alternative for a lighter flavor
Excellent video... Thank you
You are welcome!
Great video 👍💪💪
Appreciate it!
Would you recommend silver maple?
Apple woods cool.
I have a dessert pear tree I cut down. It was supposed to be a dwarf but ended up being thirty feet. Is it good to use for smoking meat?
I'm in Ecuador and surrounded by acacia trees, from what I read, acacia and mesquite are very similar. My friend in Tulsa said he's seen young, bougie smokers at competitions using it, but it is pretty expensive. Have you had a chance to use it? We're also surrounded by lime, lemon, and mango trees.... with all of which I'd like to experiment as well.
Also, what's your opinion of leaving bark on?
Where would allspice (Jamaican pimento-used for traditional jerk) fall on this spectrum?
Which flavor is best for grilling vegetables like eggplant?
Oh YES!!!
😀
What would you recommend for smoking a turkey ?? I'm thinking pecan .....🤔
We love pecan for a turkey, maple, apple, or post oak are also great choices.
What wood chips to make a bbq gas taste like charcoal?
There are no wood chips that will make barbecue taste like charcoal. However, all of our wood chips used in a smoker box will impart a smoked flavor to what you're grilling.
@@westernbbqproducts is it possible then to put charcoal in a smoker box?
