'I am not bending to anybody's demands': Dave Chappelle stands firm after latest Netflix special

- Dave Chappelle has offered to meet with Netflix employees angered by his recent special but vowed he will not bend to "anybody's demands" in a video he released on his Instagram account today.
Mr Chappelle’s special “The Closer” drew in huge audiences for Netflix but critics claim it is transphobic, an accusation the comedian denies.
Approximately one thousand Netflix employees walked off the job last week to protest the streaming giant's decision to air the special.
In the video released on Monday local time, Mr Chappelle said he stands by his show.
“It’s been said in the press that I was invited to speak to the transgender employees of Netflix and I refused. That is not true-if they had invited me I would have accepted it, although I am confused about what we would be speaking about,” Mr Chappelle said.
"To the transgender community, I am more than willing to give you an audience, but you will not summon me. I am not bending to anybody’s demands.”
It's time for the 99% of us who aren't offended by everything to stop catering to the 1% who are.
You need to let your money do the talking. When businesses start going out of business because they turn political, they will get the message.

The most repeated lie I hear in the media is when people on tv claim to have trans friends. I’ve yet to hear anyone say “actually I don’t know any”. Most of us don’t, but you’d never think it.
To be honest, there's only a very small amount of people actually 'outraged' (most of them either unemployed or bitter social studies students with no futures). The media likes playing it up is all, since stories like these get more attention and make them more money.

When i was first diagnosed as bipolar my dad reduced everything I said or did to being "bipolar." He was afraid of reality so he needed to try to reduce what he didnt understand to a recognizable size.
The business of trying to shrink other peoples problems to a size you think you can change alter and or understand that allows you to avoid listening or treating someone else as a human being does mean that youre afraid and that you lack empathy. The ability to listen to someone elses truth and not feel threatened or afraid that you would be gay or trans just by contact is a phobia.
This implies that most people who are gay or trans or afraid they are or diluted themselves that they'd changed in order to be accepted is by definition what phobia looks like. Im not gay and im not trans. And ive worked with some gay men who've tried to "convert me" and thats not cool on the gay mens reputation as a whole, but he was just acting like a man. He couldn't get me offended or rude to him and i stuck to my work and gained respect.
Not that thats cool. But one thing ive learned is that political correctness had people thinking gay men were saints and heterosexual men were evil and thats not true.
Imperfection is something everyone has in their community.
I saw this one woman talking to two gay men and she was like "gay men are so nice" and they were like their individuals and their not an escape hatch for women who can't handle their problematic relationships with men.
