- I am actually surprised how fast this racechip audi a3 is. Sure it will beat most entry level hot-hatches GTI, Corsa vxr, fiesta St....
and it might not be as expensive to insure for younger drivers.

I have a 2.0t quattro a3 with a milltek exhaust and standard down pipe with cats removed making 270bhp on the dyno after a stage 1 remap, its basically a mk6 golf gti engine making it a good s3 alternative👍

I’ve got a 2.0t A3 as well but just fwd, no tune but a stigan k04 turbo, cold air intake and a cat back exhaust, 6 speed mt ofc making about 230 whp
Racechip did absolutely nothing to my A3 8V, get performance panel filter, an upgraded turbo elbow and a proper remap
I agree on the insurance side of things it would be cheaper but the cost of the car is over double than like a mk5 gti, astra vxr, cupra 240 etc, but as a s3 alternative for a young driver its probably a good shout.

I owned a mk5 golf gti dsg for 7 months, even thought it had 2 owners and been well looked after. It had so many common problems and in spent 1.5k maintaining it within those 7 months.
I remapped it, put the best performance parts for a healthy stage 1 plus
And sold it for how much I bought it for ( yeah didnt grt anything back for mods)
They are lovely cars but the mpg in city is horrendous, theres always common issues because they are 10 years old now, im 20 so insurance was expensive. I wasnt able to save because most of my monthly income was going on the car
So I wouldn’t recommend owning a mk5 gti unless your funds are stable or your dads paying for it. Some insurers will insure drivers from 20 plus based on the area but most dont untill 21 and two years licence held.
Currently saving up for a 1.8 as its a newer engine
People seem to forget that when two cars are flat out you need a massive performance difference to “annihilate” another car. The Cupra has around 25 percent more power than the A3 which feels great but you still need quite a lot of road to overtake when the two cars are flat out. Doesn’t reflect badly on the cupra at all.
I’m impressed with the A3 on this, a very underestimated engine for sure.
I’ve got a mk7 GTD, remapped to 212 bhp and 490nm, if moves! A lot of torque. Keeps up with some fast 2wd petrols.

Just get a proper custom remap on a dyno from a reputable tuner. All these things do is adapt signals and fool the ECU.
jhiggaman don’t trust remaps, had a bmw 1 series tuned (new shape) by a reputable tuner and blew the engine twice so this is safer and I still have manufacture warranty on the car for 3 years

H16SYX I put one of these racechips on my car,the ultimate connect one,you can feel the extra boost at low rpm,but if you floor it,the car breaks up and epc light comes one,I payed 600 for the sh25 to
Curlyjay 22 no reputable tuner will blow up an engine
@@curlyjay2275 Yeah, had a IE stage1 tune and blew off the exhaust turbine on the turbo at around 5k installed. Had the DSG also and never shift correctly. Buyer beware.
I've got a audi s3 2017 and ive got the racechip gts on mine. Makes a big difference
This isn’t the highest spec Racechip. This is mid range Racechip RS and there’s a Racechip GTS which is the highest spec
i have a 1.0 A3 and have it chipped ////i feel the difference and had a resonator delete. its useable power for the city and love hearing my 3cly engine scream and the turbo spooling. What these things do are suck more air in the engine making the turbo to boost higher than stock , increasing hp
Drove one the other day pretty powerful for a 1 litre engine
Good engines far as I’m aware it’s available in a few vag cars. Not many people know about the lesser performance versions even the focus you can get in a 1.5 eco boost with 180bhp

But can it pass an emissions test? Because if it can't, most likely you'll be replacing cats and O2 sensors more frequently (or heads/gaskets/possibly anything that's oiled) if it's running super lean

Your one is perfect bro, thats what im getting in couple of months, and the 1.8 is same as the s3 engine but;
Smaller displacement
Instead of 2 injectors per cylinder in the s3, the 1.8 has one
The 1.8 engines can handle 400bhp with the Quattro model
RB26 yeh mines the Quattro , is it worth upgrading to bigger injectors too with a Stage 1 map?
D7N DD nope no need,
Stage 1 230bhp nothing has to be done
Stage 2 260-280bhp you need induction kit, downpipe, intercooler
Stage 3/4 300-380 bhp you need all of stage 2 parts, including s3 fuel pump, s3 injectors and rs7 spark plugs

That would never increase from 180 to 230 with a racechip box. Even the racechip gts that it is the top one.

worst motor ever. eat oil a lot. and very expensive to fix.
Young driver fast car = loss of license loss of life . Most roads in brum have speed cameras anyway so if you have 90bhp or 350 bhp you can never take the car to the limit. So save your money.
yeah the only way to race around brum is seriously dangerously, which I see about 20 times a day. If I want a blast I head out into the country and drive some proper roads.
