When I signed up to work the mining colony on Ceres I was told I could bring one duffel bag of my personal items. I don’t know what Zeb had to give up to stuff his banjo in there, but I’m glad he did. It’s why I don’t mind sharing vapor with him whenever he’s low
Awesome comment lol. Love it!
God bless Jeb Kerman and his Space Banjer
Reminds me of this little redheaded beaut who worked with our ship's mechanic on this old maintenance barge I signed on with after the war; made a plucking instrument out of old pipes and actuator cables leftover from assorted repairs. Played a sweet, sweet tune on that thing. I wonder what she's been up to these past few years...
When were you on Ceres? I was there from 2038-2040. Don't remember a Zeb, but I only worked the complex for about 5 months, then corporate sent me to Annex #4 when they struck that huge tribidium deposit. The work was hard, the hours long; But it wasn't a bad job and the pay was REALLY good. Thought about doing another year, but a wife, kid, and maintenance support job on Mars nixed that. Besides; I heard it's not the same after ASTRO-Sci bought out Amalgamated Mining. (Remember the "questionable" fried chicken they served in galley on Thursdays? LOL)
@@cavscout6b I choose not to think about that "fried chicken" that got served... was never on Ceres, but it ain't the only place they tried to serve that swill. Not being big on poultry my own self, I steered clear; but I knew of this fella who ate it and was laid-up in medical for quite a spell...
I believe we should petition to name this genre "cosmobilly".
You came to the wrong planet, city slicker.
Not bad 👍 I second this
Cosmicgrass 🤷🏻♂️
@@sethforeman6359 That works, too.
Signed a dozen times over
It was an early morning-probably? I'd long since lost track of Earth time and indeed any sense of it at all on this strange planet of seemingly eternal twilight. I only knew that now was the time to get going for a long day of work in the mines, finding all the materials - rare on Earth - that seemed to litter this place. The distant glow of the factory lights was strangely warm and inviting, beckoning me to come in, remove my thick suit and sit behind the screens and controls, coffee to my left, and joystick in my right hand; ready to start drilling into the "earth."
As I walked along the barren, rocky ground, the sound of a banjo player - at first distant - grew louder until it drowned out the background noise of pistons and drills pounding and ripping up the rock. I saw him, or perhaps her, with a visor reflecting the stars and the Astra Nebula, blocking out their face. He, or she was sitting on a pile of discarded rock left over from an operation from many years ago. It had formed a perfect perch for the banjo player to sit on, like a chair, or a sitting stage. I stopped - only briefly, mind you - but long enough to soak in the ethereal sounds of the banjo breaking through my thick suit to deliver the sweet music to my ears.
KRRST! "Mighty fine day!" her voice crackled through my headset. She didn't even miss a beat.
I smiled, though she probably didn't see me either.
I didn't see a bowl, or a helmet, or anything to put money in, but I've always believed busking is as legitimate a job, worthy of recognition and compensation, as any other. I dropped a few coins by my fellow worker's feet.
KRRST! "Thank ye kindly, Sir!" Her voice beamed with delight. "Y'all have a great day!" KRRST!
I nodded as best as I could though the thick suit and made a motion as if to tip an invisible hat. Then I continued, with a new spring in my step, to Mining Op. Vehicle 417...
my son just turned me onto this, Now i love bluegrass but i think i could put this on in my garage and just work and jam for hours Good stuff
Bluegrass fan here too. Thank you, glad you enjoy it👍
Back in the mining fields of Romula when we took our break, my best friend would pick us some tunes on his antique banjo that magically gave us renewed energy to continue on throughout the entire workday.
I love this genre waaaay more than I ever thought I would.
This makes me wish Serenity was still around, this would be perfect.
of all the things they remake they refuse the one we actually want!
Shiny
Out on the Periphery, we listen to this. It helps pass the time while sitting in our Urbenmechs or Cattleherder mechs.
Of all the Space Bajos I listened to, this one is the best!
Cosmobilly!
Samantha says all is well back home in New Appalachia and my 6 month stay on this rock should be over in time for to watch my little one breathe her first breath of air.
I've got my virtual child almost programmed right.
That calm, blue, glow in her eyes. The fact that she can trouble shoot all 32 steps of the Alcubierre space folding device. And the fact that she knows what my boss at the time was willing to do to us for an insurance write off.
Lordy.
This music and artwork are PERFECT. I never knew a cosmic banjo could be just what I needed to stop my train of mental worry. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Your helping people.
I'm happy you're enjoying it! Thank you for your kind words.🙏
this compilation is a little wacky, but fun. I really enjoy like, the ethereal feel of some of the other compilations, but this really feels like I'm just hanging out on some backwater colony waiting for my next job and repairs. I dig it. Feels like it would fit right in the Cowboy Bebop episodes. The the more ethereal tracks give you a feeling of just cruising along, on your way to the next fuel station in the star system, and this is like you've finally landed and are shaking off your space legs with some good food and music.
Thank you for the thoughtful response!
This music has been the most relaxing thing to listen to while everything at work is burning down around me.
It's you! You're back! 💕 I was worried that you had fallen off the face of the earth, but I'm so glad that that's not the case. This is the best joint Christmas/New Year gift ever, thank you so much for releasing this. I'm going to have this video on a loop for the next few days to welcome me into 2024!
That's just the thing.... one must leave Earth's face in order to bring back space jams.
@@_krulec You are so right, my man.
One can’t fall off the face of the Earth if one has always been a space cadet 🫡
Facts! Nothing hits quite like space banjo!
@@_krulec
Well. There were those couple of times on the ISS.

Ahh nothing like some pure music before going back out for the 16 hour shift in the astroid fields with the federation alliance.
No way you gonna catch me living on a mining colony. I'll be flying a transporter or a cargo ship, baby.
Lovely. Wish my neighbors were space banjo astronauts instead of aliens.
At least there's one little baby
I like the sound. Banjo is wonderful to play with, like a close friend.
My Terraforming Mars soundtrack! No better music to seed oceans with black polar dust or build a soletta!
Oh, sweet, a new one drops as I hit the 'too sick to move' leg of a monster cold. Cheers!
I hope you get to feeling better! 👍
This cold and flu season ain't no joke.
feel better bud!
If this was the starfield soundtrack I'd still be playing it
Ahhh yesss spacey banjo. This is why Kentucky people in the hills are so calm and welcoming. I'm one of those people 😂😅
I'm hitting the yoinkest sploinky listening to these bops
... what does this mean?
@@kingofthelimes4670 I believe he's referring to the devil's lettuce
Let that banjo ring to the far points of the universe!
I had no idea what I was going to get when I clicked on this, but I'm so glad I did. This is exactly what Cowboy Bebop felt like to me. Comfort blues that only a certain twang can provide.
My man has dropped another banger for us to enjoy
Now that there are some proper song titles, Sonic Drill is probably my favorite song out of everything you've posted so far. It's different from the usual atmospheric music we've had, which I love of course, but I always enjoy seeing someone step outside their box so to speak. I'm looking forward to hear what you post in the new year!
Seeing this drop, just made my night!
Thanks!
Thank you🙏
The track labelled 'Tavern' is actually a folk melody called 'Darling Cora'. Check out the version by Nora Brown - it's awesome
Big fan of Nora Brown. I learned Darlin Cora from Clifton Hicks. I play it in "Sonic Drill" too on this album
Happy New Years space folk! May have found this channel roughly a month ago or so, but I hope ye, and these space wanderers here have another great year of low-grav-grooves!
Thanks pal, it's kinda' lonesome out here surrounded by groundlings and other planetary types.
Thank You
Ur music was helping me pass thru very hard2023😊
Thank you for doing this. It is truly unique. Fabulous ear candy.
Expert-level stuff. Thanks again.
refinery is beautiful!
Yes, I love refinery, too!!
We don’t carefully ease up, over and down snowy mountain passes anymore. There’s no adjusting brakes, barely edible biscuits and gravy or bad cups of coffee. No DOT, no CB radios. But here and there, in the last bit of darkness before that big red fireball rises it all still feels the same as it used to. It’s just my horse and I. My machine. My partner in crime, in tune with each other and operating as one. Peace, solitude…purpose. Things aren’t the same as they used to be but whether it’s land or sky there will always be someone out here hammered down, jamming out and delivering that last load of freight on Christmas Eve. The old days are long gone but old ways and old vibes live on.
After a year of waiting this was well worth it!
Dope it's been awhile. Thank you for this
Thank you 🙏
Amazing!
Just in time for a new years drink and star gaze. Perfect timing
These have some more familiar sounding melodies but the echoing effects really makes it sounding new.
This will cure writers block, but you'll just end up writing a space western 🙂. Excellent atmosphere! You should release these individually.
You are exactly correct! But then why would NOT write a space western???
@@CoffeeKillersClub That's the beauty of it, there's no reason not to! 😁Everybody loves sci-fi and space cowboys!
@@BootGunray-order66 That's lovely. In all seriousness, I want to make a movie or a short or a graphic that has space banjo music set to it. If you know anyone or if anyone ever reads this that can do that or knows someone who can/is willing, let me know.
@@CoffeeKillersClub 👍
SCV READY!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just in time for my writer's block! Thanks, man! These tunes rule.
It's also fantastic for scratch building industrial Mechs for BattleTech. Might need to make a Zero Ge Mining Mech!
@@CheffBryan Ooh, that sounds freaking rad. I don't know BattleTech, but after a quick Google I can definitely say it looks awesome.
@@levilukeskytrekker
You may have heard of Mech Warrior, which is a part of the BattleTech universe. Super fun stuff and got a new game just a couple years ago!
Just makes me want to play hardspace ship breaker some more..
Well done. Again.
Just found out y’all are out there! Awesome space radio! I love the tunes on Banjo!
New to this and I ❤it keep it up
Diggy Hole?!
Awesome!!! This music is amazing!!!
Been benging scifi narrations, which is probably why this was recommended in the first place, but it pairs well.
apppalicia I AM HERE
The perfect combination of quirky, trippy, amd chill!
Awesome as always. Love having this on while I work.
Hahahahahaha 😂...54 here ..I must of missed this club...I'm A old Metalhead Tennessee....Yeah good music 🤘❤️❤️❤️🍻🍻🍻👊👊👊
Glad you're enjoying it! I had a ton of fun producing this one. I'm from East Tennessee currently in Arizona. East TN in beautiful this time of year once the dogwoods start blooming.
There are a lot of imposters out there. But you are 🪕👨🏽🚀 mission 1 . Over and Out 🫡
AWESOME!!! love me some Banjo!!!! Keep em coming
So glad to see another upload!!!
Thank you so so much!!!!
absolutely love when this guy makes new music, completely makes my day! Love this new album also!
I want a banjo!
Good working tracks. Nabbed on Bandcamp.
New Year's resolutions include regular string sessions. Want to be at least half as good by year's end.
Looking forward to more media from you.
Thank you for the support! 🙏
Regular string sessions. Same here. I'll hold you to it!
@@SpaceBanjoMusic
Still keeping an eye out for those tabsheets. Give a shout when they hit release! I could use the material.
@@Renorick1 Roger that. I have some time this afternoon to work on tabs. Hope to something soon
Id love to see this with the edition of some fiddle strokes too
It's not much but I did record my fiddle on the intro to Into the Unknown, fifth song on this vid. Cheers!
Thanks for making music to listen to when my group plays Traveller. I have been looking for something that meets the niche of "space western" music
I had only just found out about you because youtube put you in my recommended after I looked up the Hardspace Shipbreaker soundtrack and immediately fell in love. I had been thinking every time I listen to your music about how your bandcamp only had a few solo tracks and an album and thought "God I hope they're still making music."
And then this drops on my home page. I'm very happy about this. Happy New Year, friend.
Lol I didn't realize this vid is only like 2 days old I've already listened to it over and over in bed on drives wherever I may wander
Have you ever considered Making some vinyl's?
Glad to see you finally got some stuff together, bud! Good enjoy listening to this.
Thanks for the end of the year release. Love your "Mining Town" EP .. atmospheric and edgy! Keep pickin', Space Banjo!
Happy New Year to one and all and thank you for more amazing space banjo!
Woohoo 🥳🙌👏😁
Made my New Year!!!!
Thank you! 🥰
Just what I needed to kick off 2024! Thank you!
This is my favorite one so far!
I wonder if someone can see me and my comments....
So glad to have a new set of tunes from you! And, it's terrific as always!
Thank you!
This really feels super good.
HELL FUCKIN YEEEEEEEEEEEAH
Amazing! Love the sound
Thanks Curt!!
doot doot doodilly doo
This is amazing and I love you for existing.
I exist, too 👨🚀
What a unique style of music. Very calming and nice! My only piece of advice would be to include more sounds of sheep, a good example is melody sheep in their video on sounds of other planets, other than that keep up the good work!
Absolutely love all the sounds in this video. I start to think Refinery is my favorite, but then I can't decide. They are all Beautiful. Mesmerizing. Magical. Thats the word. Amazing talent!!!!
Thank you! :)
yooo, i smell some satisfactory in the air, very good
This is great, I listened to the whole thing.
Thanks for continuing to make these! I love your music, hope to see more on Spotify soon!
Glad you're enjoying them!
Hello friend its been a while. We all just wanted to say thank you for the awesome tunes it has sparked a lot of creativity with my journey playing banjo. Keep it coming and great to hear from you again. 👍
We need shirts with this art on it! I have recently discovered your music and I love it.
just like listening to the banjo pickin' Thanks!
This is great! I listened to the whole thing 🧡
After listening to a few of the videos from this channel, I'm hoping for more like this one. I specifically like this one because it seems aster paced and upbeat, but still chill. Thanks for sharing, love it!!
Amazing ^w^
Awesome!
Love what you're doing. Thank you.
I know it's probably a big undertaking, but you should consider putting together possibly a special double LP release collection of your favorite material of your own. I'm certain they would sell. TH-cam is cool to have but it's nothing compared to a record with some cool artwork
Missed your music.
Great banjo and stunning artwork
Another banger....goood job
There parts of the first tune that reminds me of Led Zeppelin white summer
Stringbean on steroids
Depot sounds like Neebs running through Grape Seed
I've been waiting for new material for months!
I usually put on some ambient music during work and by chance, my recommendations showed me your newest piece, which had been out for 2 weeks now. I couldn't open it fast enough
